You have full use of a shelter complete with pot belly stove and a fire ring provided (byo firewood) You can do birdwatching, yabbying, swimming in the waterhole (seasonal) picnicking and general exploring around the creek area. There are no people nearby and you will feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere (but are just 25mins from Toowoomba). We are a cattle property so you will see cows and calves and horses on your way to the camp sites. Because of this and bio security, there is no 4WDriving around the property but you are welcome to explore the creek area on foot. Plenty of wildlife to spot - wallabies, kangaroos, bird life and the occasional koala. In the creek there are some fish, yabbies and turtles. Set up camp, enjoy stunning sunsets, peace and quiet and the privacy of the secluded camp sites. Our location is perfect if you are first time campers or want to try out a new set up without venturing too far from home. 25mins drive will get you back to Toowoomba CBD. We are on black soil so our access road to the creek is dry weather only but is accessible by 2WD that have reasonable clearance. Please check with us ahead of time if you have a large set up or are concerned about access. We are happy to help or answer any questions you may have.

Hart Hill boasts a stunning 28 acres. Your initial view of the property coming over a Thanes Creek causeway is that of a magnificent rock face. However, 600m down the road, through the gate, and over the ridge, Hart Hill exposes a lovely undulating fold baring a huge panorama of flat alluvial ground that hugs Thanes Creek. Sprinkled with gums, the camping area is based west of the property in a stunning shady lea cooled by the creek and an old windmill for a backdrop. The properties history is colourful. In 1869 the area was a hub for gold diggers wanting to strike it lucky. Old wooden stumps tell a story of an old mining hut, and if you dug in some of the rock heaps you might get a shock when you uncovered more than gold. Beautiful place to stay, love the free roaming goats, wallabies, cows, sheep and emus. The river is full of tabbies and little shrimp and fish and lots of safe areas to let your kids go fishing. Water is deep enough to swim in, we even managed to get our kayaks in the water tho got stuck on rock in a few places.

What a great find! A beautiful peaceful camp on the green banks of the Bracker Creek on Lake Coolmunda. Birdlife a plenty along with kangaroos and emus. Each site is huge and comes with a fire pit with wood. You’ll need a chainsaw and axe to chop it up. Bonus is the quirky CC’s Cafe. Congratulations to the owners. I’ll certainly be staying here again and also recommend it to my caravanning friends.

Cathy is a super chill and gracious host. 8 spots on the property but you are no where near anyone so privacy is guaranteed. My spot was Top of the Hill. Be sure to bring a marquee or shade of some sort as you get the direct sun and will get hot. Otherwise, everything was spectacular and relaxing only 25 mins to Warwick and 25 min to a winery. Definetly going back.

The camp grounds are very well maintained. Showers were kept very clean. Jane and Luke were very welcoming and helpful and could not do enough to assist their guests. There was a nice amount of space between individual sites allowing for more privacy. There is easy access to the water for fishing or swimming We will definitely return.

Camped at wind break, the owners were very accompanied thank to you Jane. Toilets were clean daily. Caught a big yellow perch in the creek. Swim able creek need to track down a steep hill but had it to ourselves which was nice. The camps are alittle close but neighbours where nice. Will recommend 👍

What an amazing spot to camp! We were very fortunate to be here when the creek was in good flow and it was lovely and green around. I would 100% camp here again in a heartbeat! We saw so much wildlife and logged at least 20 bird species just watching from the camp. Super easy to get in and out, lovely short walks along the creek and up the hill. Heaps of timber around that’s easy to get to for campfires. So peaceful and private and it sure helped to have the separate loo handy too.

Lovely clear area with plenty room, great view of River & Dam, plenty of birds, wallabies & even emus. Grandkids loved it. Went for a fish in the dam & even caught a few good yellow bellys!

Weekend Trip to Carbean Camping & Farmstay

Wow, we had a fantastic time at Carbean Camping & Farmstay. Sandy and Lyle are fabulous hosts. Plenty to do and explore. We went panning in the Macintyre Brook, unfortunately no gold for us so back to work it is for me. We also hiked up road to the site of the old sheep shearing structure and found a few relics left behind. Plenty of fishing in the dam and detecting around the campsite finding all sorts of things. We even had an encounter with a stray lamb separated from the flock and had the privilege of giving it a bottle feed. Now I know the lay of the land we’re extremely keen to get back out there and do more exploring across the property. See you soon folks!! Cheers, Frase and Gib.
