Mountview is a very special place having been in the family for over 120 years. The working farm is 650 acres of grain cropping and also runs a productive Charolais beef cattle stud. A central stopover point an easy 15 minutes from Toowoomba city and only a few kilometers off the New England Highway. Great for couples and larger family groups. For those that may not be experienced campers onsite accommodation is also available in the fully renovated homestead for up to 8 guests. Explore the local area with so many attractions and places to discover including the Darling Downs Zoo, The Historical Bull and Barley Inn, Lavender fields, quaint little country towns, sunflower fields, hiking tracks and so much more. Enjoy wide open spaces with magnificent views. Watch stunning sunsets, toast marshmallows around the fire pit, watch the night sky for a dazzling display of stars, hike or say hello to the many Charolais cattle on the property. You will also have access to the facilities at the Ironbark Barn which include a pool table, television, kitchen and bar area, and hot shower and toilets. The kitchen has a fridge, freezer, BBQ, dish-washing station and rubbish/recycling facilities. IMPORTANT; DO NOT BRING FIREWOOD ONTO THE PROPERTY IF YOU ARE IN A FIRE ANT ZONE. Mountview has bags of good quality iron-bark timber for sale. Please note to hook up to power you will need a lead of at least 30 meters. 15 amp power is supplied. Power is allocated on a first in best dressed preference. If you desperately require power please advise at the time of your booking and all efforts will be made to hook you up to power. It has been one wet weekend of camping. The peacefulness of the place was great! Waking up with raindrops falling on the tent was so beautifully relaxing. The cows were so sweet! Very clean amenities. Can't fault the place!!!

Beautiful place to stay, love the free roaming goats, wallabies, cows, sheep and emus. The river is full of tabbies and little shrimp and fish and lots of safe areas to let your kids go fishing. Water is deep enough to swim in, we even managed to get our kayaks in the water tho got stuck on rock in a few places.

What an amazing spot to camp! We were very fortunate to be here when the creek was in good flow and it was lovely and green around. I would 100% camp here again in a heartbeat! We saw so much wildlife and logged at least 20 bird species just watching from the camp. Super easy to get in and out, lovely short walks along the creek and up the hill. Heaps of timber around that’s easy to get to for campfires. So peaceful and private and it sure helped to have the separate loo handy too.

Our favourite camp, with our favourite host!!! We cannot wait to come back! Spring being snake season, please be aware there was a couple of snakes near the camp, which is perfectly normal, but watch out for dogs/young kids. This is our first time out of many seeing some! (which was kinda cool!)

We absolutely loved our stay. The camping area is so beautiful and so well maintained. The amenities are top notch - clean and modern with 2 flushing toilets and a hot shower. The kids loved riding their bikes around and hanging out on the big swing looking out at the view. The sunsets did not disappoint here. Fire pits are provided and fire wood is available to purchase. The barn was great for the kids to hang out and play pool or do arts and craft. Katrina was welcoming and helpful. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax. With maximum 4 camp sites there really is so much peace to be had at Mountview. Thank you Katrina, for a lovely stay and a trip to remember for our family.

Just had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at Mountview Farmstay and didn't want to leave. The rural views in all directions are stunning - including magic sunsets. Nothing beats watching a sky full of stars while relaxing around your own camp fire. It's obvious how much effort has gone into creating an atmosphere of rustic charm for visitors with the repurposed old barn, working windmill, and old trucks and farm equipment strategically scattered around the camping area. Host Katrina is also warm and welcoming and really cares about making sure guests enjoy their stay. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying in this part of SE Qld.

We enjoyed our time at Mountview, the views were great and the kids enjoyed being out and about - the swing, pool table and spotlight were winners. The fire pit got a work out - we cooked damper, toasted marshmellows and baked banana/chocolate/marshmellow splits for dessert. The amenities were lovely and clean, and only one other camper each night - so pretty private. Nice and close to Toowoomba - a great little stop if visiting for The Carnival of Flowers.

Very beautiful and private camping site just around 1 hour to Toowoomba. Ken welcomed us at the entrance and help us settled down. The toilet and shower were spotless clean and the water was very hot! it just a bit windy and cold at the hills, suggest bring warm clothes.

3 nights at Glenelg Station

This was our second wonderful visit to Glenelg Station. The 2 Mile camp site is very peaceful and secluded. The wel-maintained camping area is huge with several possible tent/caravan sites. Some are shady and all have great views and direct access to the brook. Amanda is a responsive, friendly host and she shares lots of interesting info about the property. So rare to find a beautiful camping area where you can feel totally alone (apart from the cows, sheep, goats, wallabies, kangaroos, birds and frogs that is). It is a great spot to de-stress sitting around a campfire, watching the sunset and listening to the sounds of the bush. We checked out the cottages as well while we were there. They are all well appointed in rustic style complete with claw-foot bath on the verandahs. All are beautifully positioned with views over the brook. Thank you so much Amanda for another relaxing short break. Our dog enjoyed the get away just as much as we did!

We had a fantastic stay at this Hipcamp! The host was very welcoming and friendly, which made us feel right at home. Being a small farm stay with only a few campsites, it felt safe and secure — perfect for the kids, who loved having space to ride and play around the campground. The amenities were spotless and well maintained, which made our stay even more comfortable. We also loved that campfires were allowed, and being able to buy wood directly from the host was such a bonus, especially on a cold weekend. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend this Hipcamp for families or anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with great hospitality.
