Access to camping area is via a creek crossing then through the pines. A 4WD vehicle is required to cross the creek. Creek Hoppers Nook 4WD Private campsite tucked in at the end of the line where two gorgeous creeks meet. Shallow rock pools perfect for a creek hop and cooling off. Perfect spot for a quiet private camp stay. Amongst the pines 4WD A large grassy stretch of creek amongst the pine trees. If the time is right, you may be lucky enough to be amongst a flurry of fire-flies. There is access to the creek and plenty of shade amongst the pines. This is a large site and is suitable for larger groups. Fires are permitted in the open but not under the pine tree canopy. Rock Pool Bends Choose a spot to setup along the large creek frontage with multiple wading rock pools. This site has a fire-pit and creek water tap for ease of washing. A drop toilet is shared with the hosts. There are other 2WD spots available **We also will have available frozen organic woodfired sourdough that we bake in Eton, bags of fire wood and seasonal fruit and vegetables. Terrific quiet camp on a creek. Plenty of wildlife. Carolyn and Rob have provided a beaut camp kitchen to use and firewood for $10 a bag if you need. The toilet is clean if needed also. The provision of a small cubby house and seat swing is great for any kids you may have and the use of solar lights is a nice touch. Recommended.

Beautiful spot. We were the only ones there for the one night we stayed and so it was nice and quiet. If all spots were filled would be a bit crammed and maybe difficult to maneuver larger rigs. Facilities are great, very clean and well maintained. Enjoyed the swing, cubby house, piano and camp kitchen. Thanks so much to the hosts for this niche little spot.

Had the whole spot to ourselves, and what an experience it was! Amenities were so handy and having a super long hose for use was also great! Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone. The only negative would be the camp spots are really close to eachother, so if the campsites are full it would be a little squishy, but otherwise definitely book this spot, it was amazing

This property is kept lovely and clean. The outdoor kitchen is cute. Toilet very clean. Hose for water. Lots of areas to park up and have fire pits and seats at each section. They have bags of fire wood available for a cost. We were blessed the see the blue butterflies 🦋. Our friends and ourselves enjoyed 2 nights if fun and memories. Thankyou.

We've been on the road for more than 6 months now and this is one of our favourite spots. We were fortunate to be the only ones there for 2 of the 3 nights, which was a bonus! The facilities were great. A spotless, flush toilet was available. While we didn't use them, the camp kitchen (complete with piano), kids cubby house and swing were great touches. Sites were massive, with heaps of room to maneuver the biggest of setups. The grass was well maintained and our animals loved it. We used the fire pits provided and bought some wood while there, which made for a couple of great fires. With no-one around, we were able to take some great photos. That's all before you take into account the crystal clear creek. If you're thinking of staying here, just do it!

I've been asked a few times now by Hip Camp to do a review and I don't want to! Not because it's a terrible place but because I don't want others to know about this hidden gem and keep it all to ourselves 😊 Such a beautiful place to camp. Clear running creek, always mowed and very well maintained grounds. We even get the resident horses and cows come to say hi. Definitely recommend this place. Taking the in-laws soon to introduce them to the camping places around Mackay. Carolyn and Rob are great hosts. Keep doing what you are doing it's just perfect.

QUIET, and NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL. 7 camp sites to cater for a relaxing self contained getaway. The beach track has good 4WD access and is very quiet with secluded private camp sites along the track. Group site is set back 50m from the beach and can only be booked by 1 group at a time. It is a large flat area suitable for those traveling with friends. Please message us any questions you may have prior to booking to see what site is best suitable to your camping needs. The diversity of the property showcases an amazing variety of vegitation, birdlife, and buterflies. Many walking trails allow for bird watchers and photographers to explore the wide diversity at Tide Water Park. I'm sorry to all, we have to reiterate this, but we have to due to some filthy campers. NO TOILET, NO ENTRY. We are disgusted to have to pick up used toilet paper. Sorry for the bluntness. A shovel does not cover as a toilet! Our place is a beautiful place and we will not allow this kind of degradation. The Beach is classified as a Green zone under Qld law which means fishing is excluded along the beach. You can fish at the creek mouth to the north. There is also creek access through the property but no camping there. A small boat can be launched and retrieved. Self sufficient camping only. No toilets, showers, dump points or power provided at this time. Horse yards are available if you wish to bring your horse for rides along the beach, obviously all at your own risk. Well behaved, quiet dogs are allowed, and must be kept within the campsite unless your walking them. Be respectful of others. Things to do here include, beach access (walks, drives), horse riding, bird watching, Fishing, Crabbing, A small wet land walk. Or just sit back and watch the beach change with the tide. What to bring and not bring, Insect repellent or be prepared to cover up when sandflies and midges are out. Torches, Sunscreen, rubbish bags. No hunting allowed, No ATV's, side by sides, drones, guns or chainsaws. Generator usage only in the afternoon and early evening. Hold it Flats is a 120 acre property that borders the beautiful O'Connell River that has water all year round. Take a walk around the property to check out some of the creatures that have been built out of scrap metal and bush bars that have been built all around the property. There is nice shady trees, green grass and flat camping sites right beside the river with hot showers and flushing toilets. There is plenty of room and some great tracks for the kids and the big kids to ride their push bikes on. The swimming hole is about 2 meters deep and has big shady trees on the edge. There is also enough room for kids to bring their kayaks and have a paddle along the river. We have some hiking tracks up around the hills of our property that have amazing views of the area. All campsites can be provided with their own fire pit. You just pick your spot and we will bring a portable fire pit to you. Fire wood can be purchased at the property. All rubbish must be taken when you, there are no rubbish bins provided.

Conveniently located just a short drive off the Bruce Highway our sites are not designated, you choose your own on arrival KIDS UNDER 17 STAY FREE! MAX 2 ADULTS PER SITE! If coming with additional adults you MUST booking another site. While staying, you will have the opportunity to take a walk into the past to view a private collection of Australiana, including a working stationary, engine display and vintage kitchen with wood stoves. Access to the property is via a creek crossing so it is advisable to phone ahead if there has been recent rain or rainfall is forecast. Toilets are located on the property but campers will need their own shower facilities and take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are permitted but must be contained at all times in a fire pits that we also have for your use, we also sell firewood at $15 for a milk crate. Calen is a small cane growing and cattle town with a general store, pharmacy, service station, butcher and the local pub. Zarby's cafe is a short drive away if you would like to dine in for breakfast or lunch in a retro style setting. Each site fee is for 2 adults and kids stay at no cost. Pets are welcome.
