The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve. We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking. Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome. The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here. This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here. No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

Deep Dime is a 400 acre cattle, fodder and irrigated grain farm. Our primary crop is Lucerne for hay. Creekside Camp (our main camping area) is relatively flat, well drained sites along a creek that usually runs. This area offers multiple composting toilets and wood powered hot water bush shower and outdoor bath. There is also a large permanent deep waterhole a short distance from this camping area. We have temporarily paused out Hill camp sites, due to continuing property maintenance and improvements. The Hilltop on our place is a lovely spot to watch the sunset with a glass of your favorite beverage, and even if you are camped at Creekside, you are welcome to walk or drive up to hilltop. Just remember we are a working property, so leave gates as you find them. Our property is an easy drive from wineries, large dams, Bunya Mountains, art galleries, state forests, mountain bike tracks, and scenic Kingaroy. There is also a bakery, 2 coffee shops, a pub with great meals, and a well equipped petrol station. There are markets every Sunday in the Main Street. Borumba Dam is 4.5kms up the road. It is perfect for boating enthusiasts who want to fish or do various water sports. The property has a large modern ammenities block. * Ladies toilet and shower amenities x 5 * Mens toilet and shower amenities x 4 * Disabled/Family bathroom x 2 There are limited powered sites available on request. Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in. The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type. The horse trails network is 500m up the road and has signage with town 1 hour ride away which I can take you on a ride to on the 3rd Sunday Market Day! I have access to the rail trail via private property, or otherwise you can utilise Staines Road to get into Benarkin State Forestry or the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. Bev and Ian were perfect hosts. They have thought of absolutely everything - right down to the hamper of luxuries and great quality bath products. Everything is provided - just bring food and drinks. For those who want to camp with luxury this is fantastic. Baths under the stars are a highlight and the tent is superb. Ian's lanscaping and waterfalls are fantastic and Bev's touches are apparent throughout. Well worth the money for the solitude. five stars.

Such a lovely peaceful place to stay for a couple of nights. Loved the outdoor bath to cool down in with a cold beer in the afternoon! The creek was a bit high and muddy due to the rain when we first got there so didn’t swim but loved how the hosts had set up chairs and swing seats for those hot summer days of swimming.

Booked a one night stay here for my girlfriend and I’s 1 year anniversary. I got to say it was absolutely perfect. The owner Bev was incredibly kind, I had contacted her prior to the stay to set up an anniversary surprise and she nailed it. Had the most beautiful flowers on the bed along with rose petals set up in a heart, chocolates, face masks, candles for the baths, and that’s not even half of it. Not to mention the campsite was beautiful had plenty privacy, would 1000% recommend to stay here and we will definitely be returning again.

Our family had such a wonderful weekend away at Anita’s beautiful property. It was so peaceful, we explored the area on foot, along the creek and also in our 4WD up to a lookout high on the ridge. The horses visited us at our cabin several times, which was a highlight. The cabin was so private we felt like we had the property to ourselves. Definitely need a 4WD! And the drive to Anita’s property is so beautiful too.

Me and my partner stayed here and we have to say it was the most beautiful & tranquil stay we have had so far in Australia. Bev & Ian were so lovely, helpful and attentive. The photos really do not do it justice. From the little welcome hamper, to the outside bathtubs looking at the stary sky it was absolutely incredible. The property is a beautiful spot with some gorgeous views and wildlife. The swimming hole was a favourite as it was so much fun! The waterfall walk was very refreshing, it will look amazing when it is in flow. The doggies had the best time with plenty of space to run around. My group of 6 stayed at Big Fig which was a lovely spot with plenty of room. The bathroom was also rather pleasant with plenty of hot water. We would definitely come and stay again!

Mandy and Alan were very welcoming. They greeted us on arrival, gave us the lay of the land and the rundown on the amenities. About 4ish, Alan came dosn and rounded up the 4 kids and whisked them off into the next yard to feed the alpacas. Unfortunately we got rained out and couldn't stay the planned two nights, but the kids had a ball mucking about in the rain and chasing the frogs about. The amenities are fantastic - best campground shower I've ever had. The kitchen area is well-configured and we found anything we hsd forgotten to pack was probably in there. I'm definitely keen to stay again, hopefully during some cooler and more predictable weather.

WE LOVED IT HERE! We just wanted to get away for the night, turn the phones off, have a fire and gaze at the stars. It was the perfect place. The kids explored the creek and went for a swim. They begged us to bring them back. We really enjoyed the communal area and the donkey. The kids jumped at showing their camping skills, getting the donkey (hot water system) ready for the showers. We will be back for a much longer stay.

4 nights at Hopevale Adventure Camping
We just loved it. Mountain View was wonderful. Jason dropped in to say hello the first day then left us alone. There were few prickles and the ground was flat, mostly grassy and we had plenty of room. We were able to throw the balls for the dogs and tire them out. The cattle and horses were fun to watch. We also saw kangaroos and lots of birds. The ticks were a bit offputting but we coped. The dogs had just been tick treated and they didn't seem to have any on them. It was tick season. We will be back in winter next time.

Lee Farmstay was born in 2005, when the dairy and beef industries proved challengingand it was decided it would be a good decision to start up a farmstay because it would be a good idea to have a stable income and get city people to experience life on the farm." There are many ways to spend your time during your stay with us. Go for a stroll or cycle around the farm, try to catch a fish in the dam (you'll need to bring your own fishing supplies), play with and feed the animals or play board games. We have a sauna to sweat out the toxins and stress of city living. We also have a trampoline and swing set for children or the young at heart. Finally, end your day with a mouthwatering BBQ and toasting marshmallows around the fire while you gaze up at the stars! Our accommodation is ideal for those wanting to escape the hussle and bussle of city living, for families (especially those with small children who'd love to spend time with farm animals), romantic weekend getaways, groups or clubs (including business and family/friends) and those simply passing through the area. And of course, we're pet friendly! We offer a large Queenslander home and 4 cottages, all built with comfort and convenience in mind. Our farm is home to a wide variety of friendly animals. There are goats, alpacas, chooks, sheep, miniature horses, guinea pigs, birds, peacocks, dogs, cats, cows, turkeys and ducks! You're able to join us in feeding the animals at approximately 8am and 4pm; this is a particularly special experience for children of all ages! You're also welcome to take part in other farm activities when they occur, including collecting chicken eggs in the afternoon!

welcome our little cabin should have everything you need for your little getaway we are only on tank water so please be very water wise ( thank you ) we would like everyone to know that we are very sorry but we are no longer pet friendly as we have had some people not do the right thing when bringing there dogs , as we have asked for NO dogs inside , and also that you keep the noise down as we are not the only property in the street .
