Weekend Trip to Nine Mountains Glamping

No hotel, hostel, airbnb, campground or anywhere we've ever stayed has come close to the level of care and thoughtfulness that Nine Mountains Glamping has been created with. From little nooks in the table next to the hot tubs for your wine glass, to extra hooks on the bathroom door for robes, to citronella candles for any bugs (which weren't an issue at all), a choice of matches or lighters for the fire, the butter being pre-cut up into usable knobs, turf outside the tent entrance so you can put your shoes on comfortably, the world's most comfortable hammocks with pillows included...the combination of Greg's beautiful woodwork and clever craftsmanship with Lou's eye for every detail of comfort and practicality you could ask for and the beautiful pocket of the world they have here is an absolute recipe for a joyful weekend. The guest book is full of all sorts of people saying "this was just what we needed" - in this crazy world with the bustling lives we all live Lou has generously poured her heart into creating a wonderfully peaceful sanctuary.

We recently stayed at Nine Mountains Glamping to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was an experience we’ll never forget. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by serenity—it truly is nature at its most peaceful and soul-nourishing. The setting is absolutely breathtaking. Tucked away in the heart of the Glasshouse Mountains, this glamping retreat offered us the perfect blend of luxury and stillness. Every detail, from the cozy furnishings to the outdoor bath under the stars, has been so thoughtfully designed—it’s clear that a lot of heart has gone into creating this space. A special thank you to our incredible hosts, Lou and Grey. They were so welcoming and warm, and they’ve genuinely thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and unforgettable. From the little touches to the big comforts, nothing was missed. Sipping coffee with a mountain view, unwinding in the outdoor bath, and simply breathing in the beauty around us—it was the perfect way to celebrate someone I love so deeply. We left feeling relaxed, inspired, and so grateful for the experience. Nine Mountains is a true sanctuary. We can’t wait to return.

Weekend Trip to Field of Dreams, Haigslea

We loved the field of dreams! We were a group of two caravans, tent and rented the cottage too for a family camping trip and this place was perfect for it. The views are amazing, the property tidy and beautiful and the kids loved the cows! Phil was a great host and we're very fortunate to be allowed to experience a part of his beautiful property. It got pretty chilly at night but the campfire kept us warm with plenty of firewood to collect! The open bathroom might be a bit off putting for some as it's not very private (away from camp though) but has a hot water shower. Probably our favourite hipcamp to date and we'd happily come back!

We had a great time at GG’s retreat over the weekend! It was exactly what we were looking for - a relaxing getaway close enough to visit a few wineries and enjoy the open pit fire 🔥 when we got back. We totally enjoyed our stay at Hope Valley family cabin. The cabin is equipped with everything you need as well as lots of extra blankets for cold winter nights. We sat beside an open fire enjoying the scenery and visits from the horses. The hot shower was amazing!! Anita is a wonderful host and made sure we were comfortable during our stay. Would highly recommend Hope Valley if you’re looking for peace and relaxation in a beautiful setting (AND pet friendly). We would love to stay again. But definitely for longer next time to allow for more walks and exploration of the property! Thank you Anita.

It did rain for a few hours just before midnight but that still did not dampen our experience as Leacia and Phil went above and beyond to cover our needs. The experience was honestly like no other. Self sufficient sites are available as well in another part of The Croft property near the dam and is accessed via the main property. Options for visitors are tailored for the horse rider however you don’t need a horse to visit and enjoy what The Croft has to offer. You can also spend time with the horses here with a variety of experiences available as extras and as part of package deals and our flag ship Back in the Saddle retreat option. There are many things to do in Blackbutt as well as spending some time at The Croft. Every 3rd Sunday is our market day, the renowned Blackbutt Bakery is always at your disposal and a great pub for a pub grub night. The horse trails network is 500m up the road and has signage with town 1 hour ride away which I can take you on a ride to on the 3rd Sunday Market Day! I have access to the rail trail via private property, or otherwise you can utilise Staines Road to get into Benarkin State Forestry or the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. Bookings require pre approval please. This is non negotiable to prepare for your stay. All welcome to visit and please enjoy a campsite that will only ever have 2 bookings at a time in the 1 acre camping area. Booloumba Creek runs along the boundary and has crystal clear waters with a magical rainbow of coloured rocks in the creek. The property is literally at the end of the road, surrounded by the national park and rainforest, which is normally only accessible by 4WD, camping at our property gives you access to a beautiful park and walks which may otherwise be inaccessible. We have 4 sites but only accept one booking at a time perfect for just one tent and a private getaway or for groups of families and friends. Message to discuss any special group needs including catering or how to book a group into multiple sites. If you want to just arrive and immediately relax, in addition to the tents already set up we can also provide a Welcome meal for groups of 6 or more or a breakfast/dinner package. Please message for details and availability. We are a 10 minute drive from the township of Kenilworth where you’ll be able to pick up supplies for your holiday. The town is noted for its bakery with donuts, the Kenilworth Dairy and has a growing market on Saturday mornings. The famous Eumundi Markets are 45 minutes away and open on Wednesday and Saturdays. We love celebrating food and a healthy life, and inviting people to enjoy our space is one step, with the vision for the accommodation to support events and education based around food, plant medicine, natural building and celebrating connections with friends, family and nature.

Gypsy cabin is a boutique off grid cabin usually reserved for family and friends now available to hire to the public for couples, small families and campers. The cabin is situated privately on our hobby farm with the company of cows, chickens, dogs and ponies, dogs are permitted upon request. The cabin is cosy and self contained, it is a single bedroom, single bathroom, with walk in shower, toilet and filtered drinking water at the vanity sink. It also has a convenient bar fridge, kettle, toaster and BBQ area, the cabin has a queen bed but we can include a mattress for the floor for children, tents and caravans are also welcome in the guest paddocks. Guests are welcome to feed the chickens, ponies and cows, and collect the eggs from the chicken barn. Enjoy the serenity and silence of the country with a fire in the extra large fire pit!

It's rough and remote with limited facilities, so it's not for everyone. Most people who stay usually fall into one of 2 categories - - 4WD'ers or adventure bike riders who would rather camp overnight in the bush instead of at a caravan park or pub - People who just want a weekend away in the bush with some mates, chilling round a fire with a few drinks If either of those sound like you, I think you'll love it here! There's 2 options to choose from - you can book the campsite only, or the cabin which is located at the same spot. Property features - - Great views - Dogs welcome (just don't let them wander) - Portaloo (flushing) + drop toilet (non flushing) - Shower hut (uses shower bags) - Water available 500m away - Firewood available - Good phone reception (Telstra) - 2WD accessible via Esk or Crow's Nest, 4WD recommended from Blackbutt - I only accept one group at a time, so you'll have the place to yourself The cabin has 12V lighting and a bunk bed with mattresses (double bottom, single top), you'll need to bring your own bedding. A few other notes - - be aware you'll have to drive on gravel roads for quite a distance. 2WD vehicles can get here, but a 4WD is preferable - This is not a 4WD park or a ride park.
