Flaggy creek caravan camp is set on a private 260 acre rural property at the end of an unsealed road surrounded by the peace and serenity of state forest. A highlight is a beautiful permanent creek which meanders its way through the property for approximately 1 klm and is habitat to platypus, turtles, an abundance of bird life and towering blue and rose gums. Take a dip on a hot day in one of several water holes including a large lagoon adjacent a mini waterfall surrounded by beautiful she-oaks. The space we only have 3 available campsites all with amazing views and with plenty space two being on the banks of Flaggy creek (Flaggy creek camp 1) Flaggy creek camp 2) and Bluff view, all camp sites have their own fire pit. (Fire season permitting). We do sell large crates of split firewood for $15 or you can collect your own from the property.

How it works... - One site available - Booking and price is for one vehicle/ camper trailer - Two vehicle limit - 6 Person limit - Booking for second vehicle can be made by contacting us directly. We live in a wildlife corridor and are dedicated to the preservation of the environment, please do not enquire about a third vehicle with extra people. The site is a lovely level grassy paddock with easy access and is exceptionally quiet with a fire pit and creek to relax in just feet away. Fresh free range eggs available on request. PLEASE NOTE: All campers must be fully self sufficient and bring a portable toilet and take all rubbish with them on departure. Drones and metal detectors are NOT permitted on the property. 25 mins to Mareeba and 30 mins to Atherton. A great place to switch off and recharge those batteries. Pets welcome - dogs can be off lead if well behaved. Due to the seasonal nature of the creek, the camp site will be available from December - May annually.

100 acres on the beautiful Atherton Tablelands, North Queenslands food bowl. Campsites are beside or near a massive dam that attracts a great variety of bird life and enjoy amazing sunsets. Chat in the afternoons with the menagerie of animals we have on the farm such as Clydesdale horses, camels, sheep, cows, chickens, peafowl, ducks and friendly geese. Nearby tourist destinations include Chillagoe Caves, Mt Mulligan plus Mareeba those into wine, coffee and spirit tasting as well as the rich history of olden day farming. Two private spots are available a few short meters from the edge of a massive dam with another completely secluded site amongst the bushland. Bird watchers dream with the constant residents such as Pacific Black Ducks, Royal Spoon Bills, Egrets, Plumed Whistling-Ducks, Herons and Plain Turkeys plus seasonal birds flying in for a rest Black Swans, Pelicans, Jabirus, Black Cockatoos and so many more. Swim, kayak, catch and release fish, throw in a RedClaw pot or hunt for muscles clams. Do some hiking or 4 wheel driving around the hundred acres with our 4 wheel driving tracks. Please Note: Waterfront campsite is the only site accessible by 2WD with no trailer. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only. These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be supervised at all times for the protection of the sheep, poultry, wildlife and not to be brought to the house yard. The creek runs around the outside so there are a number of viewing points to see the wildlife mentioned above. A set of solar lights hang over the firepit area allowing for more light while cooking on our wonderful swinging hotplate BBQ. Site 2 Our newer spot work in progress not so ideal for camper trailers. your situated under our tree line away from the main creek but still with your own small dirt track down to the creek. A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night. So please check by internal message before confirming your booking that way we can confirm a spot while discussing your needs to ensure you have a clear view of your camping area. A basic but clean and tidy fully self contained cabin (amenities block is approx. 30m away from the cabin), built in part of a larger structure, located 100m from the main farm homestead, on a small rise above the bank of the Wild River. Guests are able to access the river which can vary in size depending on the time of the year. There are 100's kms of tracks which can be accessed from the property suitable for mountain biking, hiking, horse riding or motor bikes (we do not allow motor bikes to be ridden on our property other than to come and go while accessing the surrounding State Forest Tracks or main roads). The property is isolated and situated .5 kms away from our nearest neighbours, so is suitable for those who will enjoy a quiet time in nature. Most times of the year it is possible to have a camp fire along side the river. During the wet season it is advisable to have a 4WD or at least a vehicle with higher clearance vehicle to access the property. As a licensed caterer for many years, I am able to provide Meals & Snacks should you require them. We do offer horse rides on 2 of our quiet horses, conditions apply. If you have your own horses that you'd like to bring we can provide you a 4 acre paddock for your horses to use.
