Where to go
Great Sandy National Park
A 20-minute drive from Boreen Point brings campers to Great Sandy National Park. It’s broken up into two sections. The World Heritage-listed K’gari is in the north (also known as Fraser Island) and the Cooloola Recreation Area is in the south, attached to the mainland. Climb huge sand dunes, visit white silica sand beaches, dive into the crystal clear waters of Lake Mackenzie, or venture into the Noosa Everglades to experience a diverse range of wildlife. The cooler temperatures and semi-dry skies in June, July, and August are great times for rock climbers to scale cliffs without breaking a sweat.
