Aneta and Paul’s treehouse exceeded all expectations. Nestled in a peaceful, natural setting, the space was cozy, beautifully designed, and full of thoughtful touches that made our stay incredibly special. Waking up to birdsong and having coffee on the balcony felt like a dream. The bed was super comfortable, and everything was immaculately clean and well-prepared. Aneta and Paul were wonderful hosts—friendly, responsive, and genuinely caring. If you're looking for a relaxing escape that reconnects you with nature without sacrificing comfort, this is the place. We can’t wait to come back!

My partner and I loved camping at Echoes in the Valley! The property provided amazing views from every angle. We were allowed to drive along the tracks which displayed more breath taking scenery the property provided. Francine and her lovely staff made the stay relaxing and free of worry. My partner and I enjoyed the night under the stars by a campfire roasting marshmallows. You can opt in for additional activities the site provides such as camel feeding. We went during breakfast and was definitely an experience you can’t pass. Would definitely recommend this place to those that are wanting to escape from the city for a night and explore the surrounding exhibits.

What an incredible spot! Clean amenities, great shower pressure, and a 15-20 minute drive to the walks at Border Ranges/start to the Tweed Valley Scenic Trail. Kitchen was top notch and the hosts are very accomodating and friendly. It really helps to have ice and firewood on hand. We usually camp at the National Parks for privacy, or just being in nature, but I'd say this was just as chill and honestly more comfortable. And if it's a rainy trip like ours, I'd definitely say this place is the better option for avoiding leeches alone! 10/10 - loved it.

Honestly don’t even want to leave a review because I’d rather keep this place a secret! But it deserves it — and it’s only going to get more popular as they keep improving it. We had an amazing stay here. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help us. Communication was clear and easy from start to finish, and the directions and access were spot on. The property itself is stunning — a gorgeous part of the world, private and peaceful. Each site is secluded and spread out; you wouldn’t even know there were other people around. It did rain a lot during our stay (not their fault, of course!) and access definitely required a 4x4. But the hosts went absolutely above and beyond to help — even spending over an hour with the tractor making sure we could get up the hill safely with our van. We felt really looked after. Facilities were great — the toilet and shower were basic but totally usable, and it was awesome having river access nearby. Our dogs loved it too — both on and off-leash depending on where we were. Bug and mosquito levels were really low, even after heavy rain, which was a nice surprise! Overall, can’t wait to get back. Between the location, the setup, and the next round of improvements on the way, this place is a gem.

Stayed here with 18 of my mates for a long weekend where it was pissing down with rain for a fair chunk of it, but we still had an amazing time and would highly recommend. The cabin itself was well fitted out and the bedrooms and bathrooms were perfectly appointed. Only thing to add would be some curtains or blinds in the bathrooms as you can see in and with so many people we had to put some towels over the windows to make sure no one could see in. Definitely need a 4wd if it’s been raining to get up to the top, would not have made it otherwise

Lovely piece of this great country, the boys do a fantastic job of making you feel welcome. Great flat enclosed paddock for those with fur babies. 2 nights at Crystal Creek Rainforest Treehouse

The red cabin is a lovely little get away spot, away from the loud and bustling of the world and into the beautiful hills of murwillumbah with the surround sound of the gorgeous creek beside the cabin. It was such a perfect little cabin in a perfect place. Aneta and Paul are lovely hosts and were very helpful!

Our stay at alumbran was nothing short of perfect. The location was secluded and quiet. The campsite was stunning. We had our own fire pit and very easy access to the river. The river was running, making for a lovely sound to sit and listen to, there was deeper spots for swimming. There were so many different kinds of birds in the surrounding trees. Our dogs loved swimming in the creek and the quiet of the property. There was a larger communal fire pit, a herb garden, a toilet and shower which was very clean and well maintained. During our stay we were the only tented set up there. I think the homestead was occupied but we really felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. We took our dogs to visit the waterfalls up the road. We would definitely stay again. We loved it here.

Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat is a small family owned and operated campground on the shores of Beautiful lake Moogerah in the heart of the Scenic Rim, SEQLD. We are conveniently located only 2km from the Cunningham Hwy and are set in a quiet bush location surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Scenic Rim. There is never a shortage of things to do, you can take a canoe or boat out for a cruise on the lake or try your luck at some fishing. Moogerah is well known for its large Bass & Yellow belly. There is a good bushwalk at the property that takes you out to Striker point and into the gorge waterfall with spectacular views along the way. If you have a 4wd you can take a short drive up to Spicers Gap National Park. Here there is a short walk out to the Governors Chair lookout with spectacular views of the Fassifern Valley and beyond. We currently don't have a boat ramp however once you have launched your boat at the public boat ramp we have a nice bay in front of the campground where you can anchor your boat.

Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. Enjoy lovely views and relaxed peaceful settings. The farm is off grid but all the normal services are available. We also have a little vegie garden that always needs a water, and the animals love their carrots and grain. Close to Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, Fernvale, Upper Brisbane River and Wivenhoe districts. In the area, you may want to check out the township of Marburg (local pub, shops and coffee), Sundowner Hotel, Savages Crossing, or the RAAF Amberley Heritage Museum (plan ahead). Explore the great outdoors by wandering along our extensive bush tracks and trying your hand at fishing in our farm dam stocked with silver perch. Figtree Farm has an abundance of bird and animal life. Here, tranquillity reigns, save for the occasional serenade of our friendly neighbourhood donkeys and the odd rooster. If you wish to wander further afield, Kyogle is a 30 minute drive away. And there is an all weather tennis court (with lights) nearby at Bundgeam Hall. Figtree Farm at Findon Creek promises opportunities for contemplation, relaxation and fun and it is our wish that you will have many happy memories of your visit here.

Cabins near Beaudesert guide

Overview

At the heart of the Scenic Rim region, the pint-sized town of Beaudesert provides a welcome change of pace to the busy Gold Coast resorts to the east. Soak up the laid-back atmosphere as you browse the farmer’s markets, dine at country restaurants, and check into the local caravan park. Beaudesert’s biggest asset is its location. Choose Brisbane or the Gold Coast beaches—both an hour’s drive away—or explore the vineyards and artisan towns of the surrounding Hinterlands. For an outdoor adventure, there are six national parks nearby.

Where to go

Around Wyaralong Dam

Just west of Beaudesert, the verdant shores of Lake Wyaralong have more than 40 kilometers of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails to explore. Take in the views from Mt Joyce, picnic by the lakeside, then pitch your tent at a waterfront camping ground. In the summer, water sports, including kayaking and canoeing, are popular along the lake.

Gold Coast Hinterlands

East of Beaudesert, Tamborine Mountain is the star of the Gold Coast hinterlands, where you can hike to waterfalls, spot wildlife along the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk, or enjoy wine tasting at a boutique winery. Another must-visit destination is the Springbrook National Park. Enjoy bushwalking and camping in the Numinbah Valley, then discover the glowworm caves of the Natural Bridge.

South Scenic Rim

The southern section of the Scenic Rim region is home to some of its wildest landscapes. Head into the Lamington National Park to hike through UNESCO-listed rainforest, discover hidden waterfalls, and sleep at remote bush camps. To the west, Mount Barney National Park has summit climbs to challenge the most experienced hikers and backcountry campsites in the heart of the bush.

When to go

The hinterlands are a year-round destination, but the best weather for outdoor activities is from late autumn to early spring (April through September). Markets and events are held on weekends throughout the year, and this is the liveliest time to visit. Summer (December through February) campers should prepare for hot weather—daytime temperatures can reach over 30°C—and frequent downpours.

Know before you go

Buses connect Beaudesert to Brisbane and the Gold Coast, but having your own transport is useful for exploring the hinterlands and national parks.

Beaudesert has a selection of shops and restaurants, but for specialist camping gear, it’s best to head to Brisbane or the Gold Coast.
Fire bans are common in Queensland during summer and dry periods, so check local recommendations before lighting a fire.
Camping permits are required to camp within Queensland’s national parks and must be reserved in advance.
