Litchfield Bush Sites

10 sites · RVs, Tents25 acres · Batchelor, NT
Be immersed in the rugged beauty of our Northern bushland, from the luxury of your own fully self contained Van, camper tent or roof top. Open your eyes in the morning to a breathtaking escarpment of native bush. This makes the perfect camp to come home to after exploring Litchfield's waterfalls and attractions. At present we will only be offering 15 self contained sites, so plenty of space not to be on top of each other. We (the owners) live on-site, about a three minute walk from the Van sites. We have also started a little coffee shop at our main camp so you can find us there most days. We are located just 8km from Wangi Falls, one of Litchfield's largest and most iconic waterfalls. For most of the year it is open for swimming. There are also several other smaller water holes nearby. Most water attractions are accessible by car. If you do have a 4WD be sure to go off-road to visit the amazing, less accessible sites.

Camping near Humpty Doo guide

Overview

Australia might be the world leader in quirky place names, and the Northern Territory town of Humpty Doo is up there with the best. Adding a fun name to your road trip itinerary isn’t the only reason to swing by—this lively country town is also a strategic stop on the road from Darwin to Kakadu National Park. Within a 30-minute drive, you can explore the museums and stroll the beachside markets of Darwin, while an hour’s drive takes you to the waterfalls, croc-filled rivers, and Aboriginal rock art sites of Kakadu. There’s plenty to see and do in Humpty Doo, too (try saying that sentence quickly!). Highlights of “The Doo” include the Big Boxing Croc statue, bird-watching at Fogg Dam, and crocodile-watching cruises along the Adelaide River. There’s no camping in the town itself, but you’ll find options close by, ranging from bush camps for self-contained campers to tourist parks with full hookups.
