Camping 10 mins from city centre where you feel like your in the bush and can see no other campers even though there is a few around you. What’s not to like?! Power , flat sites, beautiful drinking water, shady , small pool for a dip , washing machine ($4), and super clean amenities. Doesn’t get any better. Plus a super hospitable host with excellent recommendations for all things Darwin. If you don’t seriously consider this to a cramped overlit caravan park then why travel? This was our 2nd visit to Samson Creek. The serenity here is outstanding. We thoroughly enjoy the peace & have our own space with the next camp quite a way off. Midcamp is an great and easy access camping haven for families. For families who prefer decent amenities such as toilets and laundry - Midcamp is the palce to be. What you see on the photos is definitely what you get on site! Good for small to large groups.

This was an incredible Hipcamp! Family host were extremely accommodating and allowed the kids to help feed chooks, donkey Maggie, the herd of cows and horse Stormy. They have the sweetest pups! Brilliant location, so close to Berry Springs, Berry Springs tavern and the Wildlife park. Highly recommend.

Hillier Hideaway is a beautiful 5-acre property located 2 minutes from Coolalinga Central. With 4 well shaded, spacious sites this is the perfect place to pull up and explore Darwin and its surrounds. Sites are not visible from the road and there are no dirt bike tracks or open land adjoining the property, making this a very secluded and safe site. We can accommodate vans up to 24 feet and have 1 dedicated site for either a camper trailer or tent. All sites have no power or water, so you will need to be fully self-sufficient. There is however a single shower and toilet for use if needed. There is a dump point at the Caravan Park across from Coolalinga Central that can be used for a small fee. All sites are well maintained with plenty of shade, please note during the dry season the grassed area will die off. There will be areas allocated for small campfires and guests must follow fire bans as the restrictions come up. There are wild peacocks that come in at dawn and dusk to get their daily feed, guests are welcome to come watch, Burdekin ducks and possums at night. Pets are allowed however dogs must remain on a lead as there is allot of wildlife that call the property home.

The Urban Retreat

Darwin is the gateway to the amazing Kakadu National Park. There are many popular waterfront areas with several beaches and green areas like Bicentennial Park. While sightseeing, make sure you visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, displaying Southeast Asian and Pacific art. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are some good fishing and mountain biking spots. We are located on a 5-acre block on the edge of town. The top 2 acres are laid out in a tropical garden setting, with the other 3 acres set out with native Darwin plants visited by lots of native animals and birds. You'll feel like you're a whole world away yet you will only be 2 minutes from the supermarket, 5 minutes from a large shopping centre, and 15 minutes from Darwin's CBD. We are a small boutique site and only have currently 3 sites on the 5 acres. Your site is private and you will be able to enjoy your stay without interference from others. IMPORTANT: Each site can accommodate 2 adults MAX. If you have 3 or 4 adults, you will need to book both sites. Please note Pool site is open all year round and has permanent cover. The weather is warm and the site behind our pool is a nice space to be! It is lovely to be in a space where you are the only camper! The tropical gardens provide privacy and abundant bird life. The property is safe and secluded in the rural suburb of Virginia. We are situated in the Darwin Rural area on 5 acres of bush land with tropical gardens and a saltwater swimming pool. There is a variety of bird life, lizards, frogs, and possums. You can feed our friendly butcher birds and King Fishers on the fly from our verandah or pool area. Sit with the fish pond and chat with the turtle who is very shy! We have dogs that live at the property so pets on application only. (we do have a dog cage available if required and can pet sit for a day if required ) We have caravan sites for fully self-contained caravans and unpowered sites in the horse yard. There is a single shower / toilet block available at the top of the driveway. We do have power to some sites, and we would appreciate it if you do not leave air conditioners running while you are off site. If you are travelling in a group, we can accommodate you in a large open area if your group would like to stay together. Each caravan site has its own fireplace for your use. Only 5 minutes from Palmerston or Coolalinga, 25 minutes from Darwin CBD. If you are looking for a local fishing tour, we can hook you up with the locals. We have many fishing and crabbing locations close by on the Elizabeth River, Middle Arm or around Darwin Harbour. Litchfield Bush Sites

Be immersed in the rugged beauty of our Northern bushland, from the luxury of your own fully self contained Van. Open your eyes in the morning to a breathtaking escarpment of native bush. This makes the perfect camp to come home to after exploring Litchfield's waterfalls and attractions. At present we will only be offering 10 self contained sites, so plenty of space not to be on top of each other. We (the owners) live on-site, about a three minute walk from the Van sites. We have also started a little coffee shop at our main camp so you can find us there most days. We are located just 8km from Wangi Falls, one of Litchfield's largest and most iconic waterfalls. For most of the year it is open for swimming. There are also several other smaller water holes nearby. Most water attractions are accessible by car. If you do have a 4WD be sure to go off-road to visit the amazing, less accessible sites.

Conveniently located, we're a 30 minute drive from Darwin CBD , 15 minutes from two major shopping centres, 1 hour from Litchfield National Park , 1.5 hours from Kakadu National Park, 20 minutes from the public dump point, and only 5 minutes from the local IGA, chemist and post office, and the family friendly Howard Springs Nature Reserve and excellent pine forest mountain bike trails. We have only two sites, to give you great privacy and space. The sites are level and grassed, with dedicated water and power access. You are welcome to share our refreshing plunge pool. Wander the yard to enjoy the gardens or spot small lizards and frogs, pick fresh herbs, tropical flowers. We have fantastic recycling and compost facilities, in a small effort to reduce our collective impact on the environment. Kids will love having plenty of space to run, ride and explore. There are small lizards and frogs to be hunted, a kids cubby and kitchen, sandpit, swings and a climbing frame (all to be used at your own risk).
