We will take children, over 5 years old, who are able to swim, but would insist that parents supervise at all times. Stay on our 2 acre block on the edge of a small village in the southern tablelands of NSW. We are conveniently close to the Hume Highway, with a level grassed site with scattered gum trees providing shade. Travellers between Melbourne and Sydney can easily pull in off the highway for a quick set up for the night, then be back on the road the next morning. Alternatively, our site is an excellent base to stay for a few days while you explore Canberra and surrounds, as it is an hour to the Nation’s capital. Sure, we can hear the highway and occasional trains as they go past on the main line but there are also plenty of bird calls and some neighbouring wallabies. There is a small creek on the boundary of the camping block that attracts birds but is not suitable for swimming. We have town water available for campers and toilet facilities are a short 400m walk to the middle of the village. The nearest dump point is 15 minutes away in the town of Yass. Winters are excellent for small fires for cooking and then putting another log on to enjoy the rest of the evening under the stars. We have dedicated fire pits or you can use your own. As an added bonus, there are metal sculptures dotted around the block created by the host. Each site is spacious enough for up to 4 vans if you are travelling in a group. It is easy to navigate through the trees and use it as a drive through.

This was our second time staying at Jarabin - it’s one of our family’s favourite HipCamps. The property is beautiful and quiet, and we ordered the BBQ pack again which was brilliant. Instructions to access the property are very clear and easy to follow. Although the weekend ended pretty wet, the weather held out long enough for a post-dinner swim in the river with the sunset in the background. Pretty close to perfection!

Wow, I travel extensively throughout Australia with my Campervan and this is up there with best sites available. Right on the Murrumbidgee River, theres only 3 campsites, all spread avout 100m apart to ensure privacy. Campfires permitted and catered for and Ben even provides Black Angus beef and accompanying wines for those keen to sample local produce. Will return ASAP. 5 stars and a must visit. Highly reccomend.

A beautiful riverfront campsite- it was just magic waking up to the running river water. We only stopped in for a night but would definitely be back. A gorgeous, very well cared for property and hosts were easy to communicate with. Suitable for beginner campers and just as enjoyable for experienced campers like ourselves. The campsites are within reasonable proximity to each other (you would be able to see your neighbours) but not right on top of each other. Cars do also drive by during the day maybe 50m away, so not 100% private, if that’s what you are chasing. That would be the only negative if you were wanting to be remote.

Weekend Trip to Redlands Camping

We spent the weekend at Wilson’s Flat campsite and it was perfect! Directions to the property were very easy to follow. We definitely came at the right time, plenty of water in the creek to dip your toes in or make a splash in the deep parts, green grass for as far as you could see. Campsite nestled along the creek surrounded by rolling hills, the views were absolutely stunning. What stood out was how well maintained everything was. The toilet was well looked after and stocked with everything you needed, bins were provided, great campfire, a map to the property if you wanted to explore or hike. Generous spacing between campsites you were in your own little oasis! From the very beginning everything was easy, well thought out and cannot fault anything. Thankyou Jen and John for a wonderful stay, we will be back again!!

Weekend Trip to Boorowa Hipcamp - Wombles Common

Another great stay at Boorowa Wombles Common. The area was clean mown and right on the river. Love the addition of a firepit. The adjoining pathway was great to take into town both walking and bike riding. We enjoyed watching the sheep wander around the paddock and the creeky windmill across the river gave that real country feel not forgetting the view of beautiful sunsets and sunrise. Easy to find location although our 19ft van is possibly maximum size to get through the main gate. We even managed to catch a rather large carp on the first night. Will come back again

This property is amazing. The views are fantastic, the stars are beautiful and the river is so serene. My pup and I had an amazing time at Ben’s place, and highly recommend this stay. I’ll be back for sure. The sites are well spread out, but in terms of longer stays, I’d recommend bringing ensuite toilet for more privacy! I only stayed one night so this wasn’t a problem at all. Thanks Ben! We’ll be back.

What a spot! Stunning waterfront camping. What we loved is that people aren’t jammed in but instead plenty of space between sites. Next time we will come and stay at site 1 which is bigger. Cows roaming around was lovely although our two frenchies weren’t sure what they were! We also got the meat pack, highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Redlands Camping

We loved our stay at Redlands. Jen and John are super friendly and helpful. We had a great location on the property and we were able to explore all the paddocks. It was generally quiet and peaceful. Our kids enjoyed riding around and the sheep shearing demonstration. I would highly recommend staying at Redlands. There are many different sites to suit everyone, remote or closer to the homestead depending what you like.

1 night at Redlands Camping

Our site was at philaris pdk site 4 but we did our camping near our shearing shed. It’s quite far from Sydney around 280 km but it was worth it. Peaceful place. Clean toilets, water available. If you are going from Sydney book for 2 days. John and Jennifer are good.
