Yarracoola is a working sheep farm, carrying 300 to 400 merino ewes and additional lambs, depending upon the time of year. Lambing occurs during September & October. Lots of little white lambs chasing mum around. 😆 Surrounds of rolling hills and bush, our land offers peace and quiet with plenty of space. Overlooking rural paddocks, you can enjoy the tranquillity that a farming landscape has to offer. (1.5hrs from Canberra, 3.5hrs from Sydney). Camping is available next to the creek and dam on the western side. There is no power, no dump point, no phone reception and no internet. (Don't you just love that...😜) Various farming activities occur during the year which you are welcome to join in. The township of Boorowa is 15min drive, offering a range of shops, dining venues, Golf course, swimming pool (in season) and playground. There are also a number of events held throughout the year. 1 night at Jarabin on the Murrumbidgee

Jara II is the ultimate rural getaway. Located about 70 km from Canberra along the Hume Highway towards Melbourne, it’s a place I can easily see becoming very popular for Canberrans looking to escape the city. We were fortunate enough to stay just one night while passing through from Queensland to Victoria, and I truly wish we’d booked longer. I’d say a minimum of two nights is ideal, and four would be amazing — there’s so much to explore in the region, yet simply sitting back and watching life drift by would be just as rewarding. Ben, the host, has provided absolutely everything you could want. His attention to detail and the small luxury touches are second to none. There’s another bungalow identical to Jara II a discreet distance away — close enough that two groups could book both and stay connected, yet far enough to ensure complete privacy. Down the hill beside the river is a large, flat paddock where Ben hosts campers in caravans, tents and the like. It’s an impressive spot in its own right, right next to a beautiful flowing river. While we were there, a group in canoes paddled by, taking on the gentle rapids. My wife found time to meditate on the hill, taking in the bird calls, while Ben’s cows wandered past — just as curious about us as we were about them. And the nights… oh, the nights. A sky full of stars, the kind you can only see in places like this, while sitting around a cosy fire. I’ll be dreaming about coming back to this majestic place.

This campsite is lovely. We had a great stay! The trees provided some beautiful afternoon shade with a beautiful view. The road is quiet and the campsite is very peaceful. The provided toilet is clean and close. It’s a lovely spot!

So quiet and lovely, the weather was amazing. Not much water in the dam as there hasn't been much rain. Toilet and water, fire pit, serenity, what more do you want? Although it is lambing season so lots of bleeding during the day but it was pretty cute to watch all the lambs having running races. Brett is a great human who provided the biggest trailer of wood for us, lovely morning walks up into the hills. Met the pet sheep, had a pat and we parted ways. Recommend if you just need the basics and somewhere to chill with no reception!!

Very happy with the facilities. Used everything and had a very calm and enjoyable time. Almost ran out of wood and fuel for the generator, but it was a very cold and dark winters weekend.

We loved camping by the dam with the beautiful backdrop of hills. Brett provided clear instructions on how to there and suggestions of walks on the property which afforded some fabulous views. There was a very clean drop toilet and also plenty of water and wood. All in all a great spot.
