If you value your privacy, then you are at the right place. We have just one exclusive campsite on our 40 acres. You are hidden away and guaranteed privacy from the host accommodations.
Private access is by 4WD only.
Farm route is accessible by 2WD in dry weather - check with hosts before or on confirmation of booking.
Access during unpredictable weather will depend on your vehicle/camper/caravan configuration. Please check with host prior if you are unsure. We are more than willing to make it work for you.
On arrival, guests are met by host and directed to the site.
Camp site is a secluded, grassy spot beside the creek, among tall gum trees, where you can enjoy peace and serenity. Perfect for families or group of friends. The creek has lovely shallow areas suitable for kids to splash and play in.
Occasionally you may see sea eagles soaring overhead, they nest in one of the trees along the creek beside your camp area.
Camp area has a composting drop toilet housed in an outback style 'dunny' shed. Fresh rainwater is available.
The site has a fire pit and some light fire wood laying around from fallen branches, plus mesh to place over the fire pit if you wish to use the fire for cooking. (There will always be smaller branches and kindling available for fires however, larger and longer burning wood is not guaranteed all season.)
Well behaved pets are welcome. You may be visited by some cattle during your stay...they will keep out of your way.
There are some large and unique trees to admire and keep your eye out for wildflowers that grow along the creek. There is an active eagle's nest in one of the trees.
Guests are welcome to explore down the creek where you'll find some great swimming holes.
For a relaxing stroll, guests are welcome to walk the farm fence lines which are regularly maintained with a mower.
There are so many beautiful local attractions to visit. Our local village is less than 2kms from the property where you will find Byabarra Cafe for excellent refreshments. Then a gorgeous drive up onto the plateau and you will find Comboyne village with a historic 1905 goal, Larrikins Lockup.
And if you are feeling more adventurous, Rawson Falls and Ellenborough Falls make lovely day trips. And Comboyne Rock provides some stunning views.
Upon arrival your host will provide you with an information pack on local attractions and general Hip Camp house rules and guidelines for your safety and enjoyment.

An exclusive, natural camping experience situated on the beautiful Gloucester River under the picturesque Bucketts Mountains. We are just 5 minutes from Gloucester CBD. The Bucketts are within the country belonging to the Biripi and Worimi peoples, with Gloucester being known as Mookibakh. In the native language, the Bucketts mountains (the Buccan Buccan) means the “father of stones looking down on sacred land.”
As an active beef farm we may have cattle in the paddock you camp in but the site will be secured by temporary electric fencing to ensure your safety. Hence, we ONLY allow dogs to stay whilst on a lead or tethered run at all times. Dogs sighted off a leash will result in you leaving immediately with no refund.
Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming, fishing, photography or just enjoying. Wedgetail Eagles, Black Cockatoos, Black Shouldered Kites, Kookaburras and Butcher Birds life in the area. As do kangaroos, possums and echidnas. Our night skies are very clear, no pollution here!
All of our campsites are perfect for having a campfire (fire season dependent).
Our sites are ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. You must have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste. This is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. As is the case with general rubbish.
You should bring sufficient water with you as we do not provide drinking or potable water. You will have very good mobile and internet coverage across the property.
When you make a reservation at the property we will always endeavour to put you in your preferred location as best we can. However if we are impacted by adverse weather or need to run cattle on certain parts of the farm then we may need to make a change to the actual site you are in and trust you understand.

Only 45 min from Port Macquarie, 30 min to Wauchope and just 10 min to Long Flat where there's a Pub for a social drink as well as food and sometimes live music on weekends. The General Store has general supplies, takeaway, PO and fuel.
Retaining the peace and tranquillity of our property is important to us and why the number of sites and campers is limited. Although there are designated camping spots we're happy to be flexible if you arrive and would like to relocate within our extensive 'camping area' ...depending on weather conditions and respecting the personal space of other campers.
We have livestock (currently cattle) running throughout the property.
Dogs are welcome if they remain well controlled, tethered or on a leash - this is for the safety of your pet as well as the livestock and wildlife.
You will see and hear all kinds of wildlife, particularly morning and evening when they are most active.
There are no amenities, rubbish or water facilities so come prepared, take what you brought and leave it as you found it. There is one only port-a-loo with pop-up-tent available for hire if required.
You are welcome to take a walk or pushbike and enjoy the peace and nature but please no driving of vehicles or use of motorcycles or quads.
PLEASE NOTE: Fire restrictions from September 1st and usually continue during Summer. Fire Permits are not required for fires for the purpose of cooking food, provided that:

MaMiKa Beef Site 3 was a beautiful campsite with great views of the mountains, easy access to the Gloucester river from the campsite. Max and Karen met us on arrival, introduced themselves and took us to the campsite, they were kind and very helpful making sure our stay was as comfortable as possible.

We loved our stay at MaMiKa beef cattle farm. Apart from the spectacular views of the mountains, watching Eagles overhead, and the refreshing swims in the river, Max and Karen made us feel right at home and gave our son memories to last a lifetime with rides on the quad bike, tractor, and a family tour in the ATV! Will definitely be back and bringing friends next time!

Karen and Max were great hosts, very friendly and easy to communicate with. They even came out met us on the day to take us to the site.
Site 1 has lovely views of the mountains and up to Gloucester, it was in the grazing paddock, we had a short walk through the gate to get to the river which was very refreshing to swim in. We did choose a particularly hot weekend to travel so were grateful for our solar setups.
Gloucester is close enough to grab essentials from town & its a nice drive to Barrington Tops to see the sites of the area.

An amazing location only made better by the exceptional hosts.
This site is our favourite especially in summer, with close access to the river and plenty of room for 2 vans. It has a wonderful view across the river to the mountains beyond. Back to nature at its best with plenty of birdlife. We sighted several kingfishers on the riverbank diving in for a catch.
Bring your river tube!
You will not be disappointed!

Lorna and Allan are delightful, accommodating hosts sharing local knowledge and directions. The site is private and peaceful. We appreciated the convenience of being close to town with a small baby and a dog. We enjoyed being greeted by the cows and horses, taking Bucketts scenic walk next to the property and having a fire place all set up. We would recommend this site for a quiet getaway and used it as a trial run for our caravan off grid for the first time.

Camping was really good. Very secluded and private. Ample shade made even a 35 degree day bearable.
We had a flat tyre and they were very helpful to assist.
The incline is a bit steep to get out of there and I won't recommend coming with a sedan but our campervan made it out using momentum. These are the kind of properties that make Camping an absolute pleasure.

Max and Karen have been very welcoming and helpful. Site 5 is at the edge of a big valley with the view of the mountain. If you like solitude and privacy, that's the place. Sunsets, stars and sunrises were phenomenal. The place is 5min away from all main amenities, woolies, pool, etc and yet feels very private and connected to nature. River is 5min walk away, not very deep but enough to refresh yourself. Will stay again

Lovely quiet spot away from the world but still close enough to explore the region. Well worth the visit and as hosts go, Stephen is up as one of the best we've encountered 🙏

Lorna and Allan have provided a really unique experience on their beautiful property just outside of Gloucester township. They have created a flat grassed space overlooking a stunning view of the valley and hills beyond. Nothing was too much trouble and we thank them for their care and hospitality. Highly recommend.

We loved staying at Lorna and Allen’s farm. What a spectacular spot to pull up for a night! Breathtaking views from a beautifully maintained patch of level grass with a bench and fire pit. Well worth the hike up the cliff if you’re up for a scramble to get an amazing Birds Eye view of your camp setup and the entire Gloucester valley. Lorna and Allen were incredibly friendly welcoming us to the site and then giving us space to enjoy the views in privacy. 10/10!
