Our 4,000 acre undulating property is an area that lots of animals also call home such as kangaroos, deers, wombats, goannas, echidnas, goats, sheep and cattle.
Looking for some fun activities during your stay.
We are located 5 minutes from the Burrendong Arboretum, only 7 minutes from Lake Burrendong where you can try your hand at activiites such as fishing, boating, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and much more. If you book one of our bell tent sites you can select to get a free access card to Lake Burrendong which lets you enter the Park as many times as you like totally free.
If you don't mind a little drive we are only 1/2 an hour from the iconic Wellington Caves, 1 hour from Dubbo and Orange where you can visit wonderful attractions such as the Dubbo Western Plains Zoo, Old Dubbo Gaol, Orange Ophir Gold Mine, 1.5 hours from beautiful Mudgee wineries and much much more.
There are plenty of tourist activities which surround our beautiful property that you can visit, that is if you wish to leave the serenity of Stockyard.

We offer only one spacious camp site at a time with stunning views overlooking grape vines to the east of our farm. If the weather is a touch damp - which it is inclined to be in winter in Orange - we can offer you the shelter of our very large hay shed. It will easily fit a caravan and vehicle with room to spare. It will keep your gear dry and your camp site cosy. After a busy day of visiting the vineyards of Orange you are able to relax around the campfire, whether you're camped under the hay shed or not, and take in the serenity.
If you wish, you can accompany us on a cattle experience with both our herefords and highlands, feeding and grooming them (weekends only). You are welcome to try your luck in our dam if you have your own fishing gear.
Pets are welcome but we do have livestock on the property, as do our neighbours, so please keep them under control.

Pretty dry at this time and a 45 degree day did not help. Site is large and cannot hear your Neighbour’s generator running. Good short walk along the river, but could only do this early in the morning as it was too hot

Sam was very generous with her time and knowledge. Can recommend the sourdough!
We even had a swim in the dam and picked some blackberries! Would highly recommend this site!

We loved our time at Dunollie Ridge. We expected to find that the previous reviews were over-the-top; Nope, they were not! It's proximity to Mudgee and Gulgong are an additional draw-card if that is what you want, though far enough away to absolutely guarantee that feeling of just being away from civilisation!
Given that the whole area is currently experiencing a mini drought this did not reduce our genuine love of this place, thank you Adam.

Matt and Leanne were great hosts with very good information about where to go to find your site, price was excellent at $15pp. What more could you want sitting right beside a creek, cows chewing on the grass next door and at dusk you have cockatoos doing zoomies in the trees. Clean site, not far out of town and the night sky was full of stars. Keep up the good work, travelers need set ups like this. 💯

An awesome spot to stay, I'd say the kids loved the animals but the adults did too! So lovely to be shown around and see all the rescue animals, all the interactions we got with the animals were awesome...watching the pigs get fed, feeding possums, cuddling guinea pigs, and helping to feed a rescue wallaby. Lots of trees around the camping area but plenty of spots to fit into.
We rang later in the afternoon and they were kind enough to let us still book through hipcamp to stay the night. thank you for our stay!

Was peaceful and relaxing, till another campers decided 430am was a great time to pack up to leave, some people just have no common sense or camp etiquette.
Other than that me and the kids enjoyed swimming exploring and just outdoors nature.
