T.J Wilson We have 3 remote sites and 3 dispersed sites and the property is six kilometers from Dalgety township which is situated on the “Snowy River” NSW. We are located 30 minutes drive south east of Jindabyne and 40 minutes drive south west of Cooma. There is a flush toilet and fresh drinking water is available at our dispersed sites. Caravans can easily be filled up via garden hose and if you are staying on one of the remote sites this can be done easily prior to settling in. We have a mowed loop track giving easy access from each site to stroll to the top of the hill, walk the dog or enjoy the 360 degree views. Take a picnic in the evening or just a glass of wine and watch the sunset from the top of the hill. After dark, relax and toast some marshmallows over the fire pit and discuss what you are going to do the next day. The land was originally once a part of "Marranumbla Homestead". I have called it home since 1995 and now share it with my partner Phillip, our son, Danish the Whippet, Murphy the Malshi, Myonie the Moodle and Finley the cat. The house yard only had 2 trees when I bought it and the house built originally in 1980 still needed completing on the inside. I have worked hard to create an extensive garden in a sometimes harsh environment. It's our peaceful part of the "Snowy Monaro", the property being 155 acres in total. A great place to wander and breath in the fresh air. In Dalgety township you can have a meal and catch up with a local at the "Buckley's Crossing Hotel" or take a walk around the show ground, town and along the river reserve where you can have a swim and relax on the riverbank and view the historic Dalgety Bridge circa 1888 across the Snowy River. Then come back in the evening to look for platypus when they come out to play. Visit the local 'Snowy Vineyard and Microbrewery' incorporating the 'Dalgety Brewing Company' situated approximately 10km north of the town on the Snowy River or have lunch at 'Tuscany in Dalgety' 2km to the west of town. Take a trip to Jindabyne which is half an hours drive to the west, walk round the lake, visit the 'Jindabyne Brewery', great food, beer, cider and wine or the many other restaurants and cafes in town. Spend some time at the 'Snowy Region Visitor Centre' and the 'Gaden Trout Hatchery' or catch your own trout in the lake or at the 'Eucumbene Trout Farm'. Travel beyond into the mountains and Kosciusko National Park to Thredbo, Perisher Valley and Charlottes Pass. Explore the many walks in the national park including the walk to the top of Mt Kosciusko. Visit the 'Wild Brumby Distillery' enjoy some European fare and locally crafted Schnapps, Gin, Vodka or Gluhwein. Take a day trip through Adaminaby to 'Yarrangobilly Caves and Thermal Pool' in the northern end of Kosciusko National Park, picnic, swim and tour the caves. Visit the "Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre and Café in Cooma and learn the history of the scheme. The Centre houses a comprehensive exhibition hall including an extensive photographic collection, models, hands-on exhibits and a one of a kind immersive theatre. You will find information about the Scheme such as engineering, the environment, the National Electricity Market, history, water management and power generation. Make it your base camp while enjoying all that the winter season has to offer and lets not forget the skiing and snow boarding of course. Well that's just a sample of some of the things you can do but if all that sounds like too much, just put your feet up and have a rest at your campsite!! P.S. The annual Dalgety Show is held on the first Sunday in March every year and did you know that Dalgety was one of the sites considered for our country's capital. It is home to native animals big and small and many natural features and views. Kosciousko National Park is located to the West with several access points. Sitting at an elevation of 1270m above sea level it gets blanketed in snow in winter and beautiful sun in summer.

It is about 90 minutes from Canberra, just over an hour from Thredbo and Perisher and Mt Selwyn snowfields and 1.5 hours from all the beautiful beaches that the South Coast has to offer. A short drive of under 7 minutes takes you to the Murrumbidgee River on a sealed council road. There is a flat grassed picnic area and council gas run b-bques under cover. You may find internet and mobile not fully covered here. I have a mobile that I use which works well depending where I stand. Now has 3 adjacent camp sites available. If not booked by others its a quiet spot amongst a bush setting. also offers an RV site. You can relax around your firepit and enjoy watching the beautiful wildlife that come to visit the property including Kangaroos, Wombats and a variety of native birds. The host runs a Day Spa from her home so you may like to treat yourself to some self care. Please check with host as to availability of Spa Treatments. Why not check out our outdoor clawfoot bath during your stay. It's an amazing experience under the stars! Tank water is available but please use sparingly. The surrounding region is hugely popular for cyclists and bushwalkers with many great tracks available to explore. Mt Gladstone now has a popular track and Iread there are plans for a big upgrade. There is a lookout at the top and can recommend Miss Heides Austrian Restaurent. Amazing authentic home cooked bavarian meals in a rustic log cabin with a fireplace. The Murrumbidgee River is just about 4 klms away, where you can enjoy a picnic along it's banks and take a dip if it's warm enough. We prefer campers who are fully self contained. Campers must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. There is an outside basic toilet that is a compost type with sawdust and is cleaned regularly. No pets please as we have a wildlife corridor here. * I am considering quiet well behaved pets for campers but not in the bush hut. Will verify soon*.

Head in Batlow to check out the bakery, RSL and Pub and admire the beauty of this small town. Obviously from our name, but also from "creel" which is a wicker basket usually used for carrying fish. Walteela means "Place of Peace" and that is what you might be looking for. No traffic waking you. Listen to the sounds of nature instead... A real country experience! An Angora goat and slashed tracks to access the beautiful 130 acres around the farm. The small village of Michelago is 5km from our property, has the fuel servo and a terrific General Store, which serves great burgers and milkshakes plus much more. 20mins to the town of Bredbo with its own pub is great for counter lunches and dinners. The Town of Cooma, the gateway to the Snowy mountains is a 40 min drive south. Also if you want to go camping with friends and introduce them to the great outdoors and they don’t have the gear ask about our hire service of all things needed to have a great camp, some are listed but more is always available to hire, just send me a message. Our property is on a hill with a dam midway up if you’re looking for a nice walk. Do a loop for spectacular views! Come and enjoy the beautiful outlook and natural wildlife. Rest in peace and privacy or get out to enjoy all the Snowy Mountains has to offer. Whether you come for snow sports, water sports, biking, hiking, yoga or reading – adventure and relaxation awaits. Access to all sites is via a tree-lined driveway. To get to the western paddock and Sunset, Pine View and Hilltop sites, the turn off the drive to get through the fence means that small to medium setups are suitable. To get to the eastern paddock and Sunrise and Birch Grove sites, the turn off the driveway is a bit wider to allow for larger setups. Please check the details for size recommendations – the maximum sizes listed are for your total setup, including your car and anything towed. The sites at the bottom of the property closest to the road have easy access and more protection in windy weather, but if you have a 4WD and are wanting to sit and enjoy the 360 degree rural views then head up the hill to our Hilltop site. Endor is a primitive camp site with cabin style accommodation. There are two bunkers which are set 25m apart and each bunker can accommodate 2 people Max. Basic single bed set up with basic linen however it is required that you bring your own temperature rated sleeping bag for seasonal Camps in winter and shoulder periods. The weather can change very quickly, and temperatures can drop to below zero with snow in Winter. Campfires are allowed during the winter season and each bunker has a fire pit. Our aim is to provide a comfortable bed in an alpine off grid setting for those who seek an experience in nature. Located on Batlow Road you will experience some road traffic noise and log truck activity during peak hours in the morning and afternoon. A small reminder that you are still close to civilization.

Our story starts in Far North Queensland, when a german backpacker, me :), met an Aussie fisherman, Craig. To cut the long story short, after living together in Germany we decided to move back to Australia. We had a vision, trying to find our perfect place to live. Starting out with a car, a camper trailer and two bags we travelled from North Queensland down to Tasmania. Looking for a place to live. On our way through Tumbarumba everything started to unfold and we fell in love with our property. The feel, the experience and the climate. This was it! We've found our perfect place and finally named it "Creal's Rest" which has two meanings for us. Obviously from our name, but also from "creel" which is a wicker basket usually used for carrying fish. Escape the hustle bustle of life on our 10 acres alpaca life style farm which is nestled between beautiful hills and grazing properties on Walteela Road in Mannus (20 min drive to Tumbarumba). Walteela means "Place of Peace" and that is what you might be looking for. No traffic waking you. Listen to the sounds of nature instead... Enjoy the peacefulness, local wildlife (kookaburras, echidnas, wombats, kangaroos, etc.), small creek, stunning mountain views and dark skies for star gazing. Birdwatchers... you'll love it! Love fishing? Enjoy a chat with Craig, who has been a pro line fisherman for 18 years in the GBR! He loves to explore, show off the local fishing spots and a chat about all things fishing! Mannus Creek is only a couple of min drive away and Mannus Lake 15-20 min drive. Hand feed our friendly alpacas, greet our pet chickens and find some eggs. We have several sites for 100% self-contained campers, where you'll be spoilt with spectacular views of the Tinderry Mountains, access to undulating walking trails, and the Namadgi National Park nearby. On clear nights, the stars here are spellbinding. We have many animals here too! View our placid Scottish Galloway cattle (currently with calves!) pat our friendly poddy Cody and grab a photo opportunity. We also have a beautiful horse Ali and her yearling colt diesel, just watch your fingers with him, gelded now but still thinks he’s a stallion. 5 fat Dorper sheep look like running rugs running around. A real country experience! An Angora goat and slashed tracks to access the beautiful 130 acres around the farm. The small village of Michelago is 5km from our property, has the fuel servo and a terrific General Store, which serves great burgers and milkshakes plus much more. 20mins to the town of Bredbo with its own pub is great for counter lunches and dinners. The Town of Cooma, the gateway to the Snowy mountains is a 40 min drive south. Also if you want to go camping with friends and introduce them to the great outdoors and they don’t have the gear ask about our hire service of all things needed to have a great camp, some are listed but more is always available to hire, just send me a message. We have 40 beautiful acres on The Snowy River Way in Jindabyne with several large, private sites. Groups are welcome to have their own spot together and each site has a fire pit. We are only 10 minutes from Lake Jindabyne – turn left to head up to the mountains (a further 30 minutes to Thredbo or Perisher) or right to explore Jindabyne township and its boutiques, breweries, cafes and cinema. Stop in at The Station Resort on the way back from the mountains, just five minutes away for a nice feed and game of pool (during winter). Our property is on a hill with a dam midway up if you’re looking for a nice walk. Do a loop for spectacular views! Come and enjoy the beautiful outlook and natural wildlife. Rest in peace and privacy or get out to enjoy all the Snowy Mountains has to offer. Whether you come for snow sports, water sports, biking, hiking, yoga or reading – adventure and relaxation awaits. Access to all sites is via a tree-lined driveway. To get to the western paddock and Sunset, Pine View and Hilltop sites, the turn off the drive to get through the fence means that small to medium setups are suitable. To get to the eastern paddock and Sunrise and Birch Grove sites, the turn off the driveway is a bit wider to allow for larger setups. Please check the details for size recommendations – the maximum sizes listed are for your total setup, including your car and anything towed. The sites at the bottom of the property closest to the road have easy access and more protection in windy weather, but if you have a 4WD and are wanting to sit and enjoy the 360 degree rural views then head up the hill to our Hilltop site. Endor Nature Camp is located in the picturesque town of Batlow, offering unique off-grid nature camping experiences. Only 25 minutes from the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail, Endor is the perfect mountain hideaway to map out your day. Visit farm gates, take a tour of the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail and indulge your taste buds at some of the regions finest food and beverage establishments. Located on the Batlow to Tumbarumba road at Deep Gully Bend (The Old Mill) site entrance. Endor is only 2km from the village of Batlow, nestled into steep hillside and surrounded by Alpine woodland. Endor is home to a large variation of wildlife including the endangered Greater Glider and other Squirrel Glider species. Wombats roam at night along with kangaroo, wallaby and deer migrating when in season. Powerful Owls, Gang Gang and many species from the parrot family are a spectacular sight along with morning and Twighlight Finch performances. Endor is a primitive camp site with cabin style accommodation. There are two bunkers which are set 25m apart and each bunker can accommodate 2 people Max. Basic single bed set up with basic linen however it is required that you bring your own temperature rated sleeping bag for seasonal Camps in winter and shoulder periods. The weather can change very quickly, and temperatures can drop to below zero with snow in Winter. Campfires are allowed during the winter season and each bunker has a fire pit. Our aim is to provide a comfortable bed in an alpine off grid setting for those who seek an experience in nature. Located on Batlow Road you will experience some road traffic noise and log truck activity during peak hours in the morning and afternoon. A small reminder that you are still close to civilization.

We had a lovely 2 nights stay at Creal’s Rest. It was very peaceful. The alpacas were sweet and curious and there was even a baby alpaca! The burbling creek was pretty and a soothing sound. The big apple box gum tree was spectacular and provided nice shade. The site is just down the hill from the main house but quite private. There is a composting drop toilet (with no door). We saw a few platypus in Mannus creek 5 minutes drive down the road at the bridge. It was lovely and green in late spring. Our hosts were kindly and interesting to chat with. Thanks for having us!

Me and a work colleague stayed at the ingelara farm for 5 nights, We both agreed that it was an absolutely beautiful and peaceful place to wake up and fall asleep, I would without a doubt bring the family back and 100% recommend it to anyone on the search for a relaxing and peaceful place to camp,, See you guys again soon ✌️

Time to relax... bring your hammock if you have one or two or three. The huge apple box tree provides a perfect spot to chill in the shade.

Amazing private retreat with lovely elevated views and surrounded by a beautiful landscape. We had a resident bunny, a joey and mum for company in the day, a possum up in the trees at night. We were well settled down in our campervan with access to a power and water point. Hugely grateful to our wonderful host, Kelly who was super helpful with great tips on stops on our journey down and visits at Jindabyne. Thanks to her, I got my first snow experience at Charlotte Pass. Thanks Kelly, for hosting us. We certainly will be back!

Weekend Trip to High Country Camping

Great spot for a variety of campers, caters to those that want a huge big grassy area or others that want a quiet secluded bush camp to themselves. We noticed how absolutely absent of road or aircraft noise, or any man-made noise really. Our camper trailer got through the bush tracks easily and we found a nice sheltered spot from the high winds (big rigs would'nt make one of the sharper bush track turns due to a tree). Huge rigs of any size could find numerous places in the main clearing around the dam/shed which would be perfect for large groups. Incredible amount of easy to grab firewood sets this place apart. Flushing toilet another bonus. We got nice and close to an Echidna too.

The friendly farm animals were a big hit, and the cider cellar door was a nice bonus for the adults. Great location for exploring Pilot Hill and Buddong Falls. We’ll definitely be back!

Where to go

The Sydney Area

Cosmopolitan Sydney offers big-city charm and easy access to fantastic beaches and natural areas. While plenty of people come here to dine, shop, and take in the city lights, you won’t need to drive far from the city to find yourself out in nature. Some of the best (and easiest-to-reach) camping areas near Sydney include Lane Cove National Park and Royal National Park, both within a short drive of the Central Business District.

The Blue Mountains

Not far from Sydney, the Blue Mountains offer some of New South Wales's finest scenery, from massive rock formations such as the iconic Three Sisters to the enchanting Jenolan Caves. It's a popular destination for bushwalkers and rock climbers alike and has plenty of campgrounds, from forested spots tucked among gum trees to private wilderness campsites far away from it all.

The South Coast of New South Wales

If you want to get away from the crowds but still wish to spend time near the sea, the South Coast may just be the ticket. Head to Booderee National Park to see wildlife or make your way down to Jervis Bay for a bit of kayaking. Like to surf? Head to Kiama to check out the waves or head south to take in the scenery in nearby Gerringong.

The Hunter Valley

The Hunter Valley is best known for its wineries, and it’s got plenty of them, but even teetotalers will find plenty to do in this lovely region. Highlights include the massive Lake Macquarie, the largest saltwater lake on the coast of Australia, and Mount Royal, which is part of the World Heritage Gondwana Rainforests of Australia.
