Bimbimbi is located at the free flowing, clear beginning of the Murray River, at Tintaldra. We have 5 separate sites. Each site is for a single group, so you know you will only have yourselves in close proximity. Each site has access to the river, although The Fishing Hole, River Red Gums and The Big Bend have better access than The Willows and The Old Pump Hole. Swimming, fishing for Murray Cod, hiking along the river bank (we have 3km of frontage), bird watching, relaxing are typical things to do here. Or, if you are more adventurous, borrow our canoes and do a down river trip, or go for a longer hike up Pine Mountain in the Pine Mountain National Park. Or, bring your mountain or road bikes and do some cycling on the picturesque roads and trails. The campsites are well spaced out, with a minimum of 200 metres between the nearest two locations. In fact, it either impossible or very difficult to see anyone else at the other camp sites from your own camp site. Each camp site is accessible via its own track, so you won't have other vehicles driving past your camp site. We have a Leave No Trace policy, please take all rubbish with you. (This also means not throwing bottles, cans, bottle tops, aluminium foil and other non-biodegradable items into the camp fire.) Dogs are allowed, but please keep them under control, particularly if near cattle. Campfires are allowed only in braziers provided, when fire bans are not in place. You can gather your own firewood or purchase firewood from us (see "Extras"). Please arrive before dark if you haven't been here before. It is difficult to understand a new camp site in the dark. We provide a toilet at each location, for your convenience and the cleanliness of the camp site in general. Nothing but your human deposit and toilet paper in the toilet please. No disposable wipes, nappies etc. Please put these in your trash. Also, bring your drone but use it only over locations that are not occupied. We have canoes to borrow, seasonal produce is available from the garden and our own beef and local lamb is also now available. And, again, wood for purchase if you don't want to gather your own. It is home to native animals big and small and many natural features and views. Close by you can enjoy the Eucumbene dam 10 minutes to the North with great Trout fishing and Jindabyne 25 minutes to the South. Kosciousko National Park is located to the West with several access points. Sitting at an elevation of 1270m above sea level it gets blanketed in snow in winter and beautiful sun in summer.

You have a choice of two shipping containers, both furnished with a double bed. As well as two campsites to pitch your own tent, on a flat grassy area near the converted shipping containers. A shared toilet and hot shower is located 80m from the accommodation. You will have access to drinking water if required. Since the early 1800s our property has been a sheep and cattle grazing farm. Our first ancestors settled in this area in 1821 and we enjoy a rich historical connection to our country. Little has changed since those early days with native pastures and forests existing in harmony with wildlife and livestock. You will likely see emu and a vast array of other birdlife, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas, crayfish and small fish. There are two creeks, both with 4km frontage on the property. Native plants, flowers and trees are in abundance. Farm infrastructure includes timber stock yards, buildings and sheds, some dating back to the 1800s. Four distinct seasons occur at this latitude and elevation. However, weather is changeable throughout the year so always be prepared for sudden changes in conditions. Weekend Trip to High Country Camping

Great spot for a variety of campers, caters to those that want a huge big grassy area or others that want a quiet secluded bush camp to themselves. We noticed how absolutely absent of road or aircraft noise, or any man-made noise really. Our camper trailer got through the bush tracks easily and we found a nice sheltered spot from the high winds (big rigs would'nt make one of the sharper bush track turns due to a tree). Huge rigs of any size could find numerous places in the main clearing around the dam/shed which would be perfect for large groups. Incredible amount of easy to grab firewood sets this place apart. Flushing toilet another bonus. We got nice and close to an Echidna too.

Weekend Trip to Ingelara Farm

We had an absolutely amazing time camping on Beatrice, Tobias, Laurence & Lina’s land! The entire experience was fantastic, starting with the hosts, who are incredibly welcoming and accommodating—they really went out of their way to make our stay fun. The property offers two distinct and great sites. We found that both have lots of free space for setup, which is wonderful. For those prioritizing convenience, Site 2 is closer to the toilet and shower facilities. The scenery around the farm is breathtaking; the lake and the surrounding farmland are truly beautiful. It’s a very peaceful and picturesque setting. One important tip for future Hipcampers: since the sites are located around 700 meters above sea level, it can get quite chilly, even during late spring. Be sure to pack extra layers and warm gear for the evenings! Overall, we had a blast and highly recommend this beautiful spot.

High Country Camping has made our list of favourite camping spots! We loved our stay- it was so peaceful, spacious and quiet. The hosts Jayne and Tim are super friendly and the flushing toilet on site was just a bonus. Definitely recommend taking ALL rubbish with you though (we picked up some from previous campers at this property) as they have cattle who pass through the area. Would love to come back again in the future, thank you!!

We were there mid week and basically had the place to ourselves. The area is truly massive and as long as people don’t need to be super close to the bathroom, you won’t even see each other. We had one other person stay that night in an RV and never even saw each other after the first quick hello. Our doggo also loved being free to run and explore and the big open area made it very relaxing for us to know he wasn’t getting up to any mischief. Loved the peacefulness and beauty of the camp spot, will definitely be back!

Absolutely beautiful area for camping. Tremendous amounts of space and was incredible for taking photos of the stars and relaxing by the fire. The property recommends a 4x4 which would probably be true during wet weather however it was dry when we went and our small ASX had no issues making it through the property. Would absolutely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Ingelara Farm

Had a lovely weekend on the farm. Lovely and quiet. Our son helped pick potatoes with the family and we enjoyed walking around the property. Went down the road to the pie shop and visited Cooma. Nice hot shower and toilet was clean and basic. Loved camping here. Great spot.

Weekend Trip to Bimbimbi River Camp

This was a great campsite up on a hill with a great view over the river. Definitely no access to the river without a bit of a walk to another campsite, but this suited us. Hosts were so great, helped us out when we had a car seat to clean 🥲 very friendly, and we had a wonderful camping trip here

Where to go

The Sydney Area

Cosmopolitan Sydney offers big-city charm and easy access to fantastic beaches and natural areas. While plenty of people come here to dine, shop, and take in the city lights, you won’t need to drive far from the city to find yourself out in nature. Some of the best (and easiest-to-reach) camping areas near Sydney include Lane Cove National Park and Royal National Park, both within a short drive of the Central Business District.

The Blue Mountains

Not far from Sydney, the Blue Mountains offer some of New South Wales's finest scenery, from massive rock formations such as the iconic Three Sisters to the enchanting Jenolan Caves. It's a popular destination for bushwalkers and rock climbers alike and has plenty of campgrounds, from forested spots tucked among gum trees to private wilderness campsites far away from it all.

The South Coast of New South Wales

If you want to get away from the crowds but still wish to spend time near the sea, the South Coast may just be the ticket. Head to Booderee National Park to see wildlife or make your way down to Jervis Bay for a bit of kayaking. Like to surf? Head to Kiama to check out the waves or head south to take in the scenery in nearby Gerringong.

The Hunter Valley

The Hunter Valley is best known for its wineries, and it’s got plenty of them, but even teetotalers will find plenty to do in this lovely region. Highlights include the massive Lake Macquarie, the largest saltwater lake on the coast of Australia, and Mount Royal, which is part of the World Heritage Gondwana Rainforests of Australia.
