I wish we could give Dawn and her beautiful home more than 5 stars. She is an absolutely fantastic host, very welcoming and made us feel at home on her stunning property. We had a small hiccup due to our car and we had to extend our stay.. Dawn went above and beyond for us and let us experience tamworth from the eyes of a local and gave our little family some amazing memories we'll never forget. It is truly a piece of paradise not to be missed.

This is a great camp, flat mowed site, close to Tamworth and a stones throw to Kootingal where there is a well stocked IGA, coffee shop and a pub with nice meals. Phoebe is a great host, with her friendly family making you feel welcome. Plenty of farm animals ( goats, lambs, chooks, geese, dogs, and puppies to keep the kids. amused. Thanks for having me. Highly recommend.

The farm was very easy to find and less than 5 minutes to Tamworth. The kids and wife enjoyed feeding the animals in the afternoon. The camp ground was very nice with a relaxing surrounding to chill out in the last afternoon. Heaps of space for the kids to run around and wear themselves out.

Weekend Trip to Omadale Brook, Barrington Tops

Great spot. They had a lot of rain before and after our stay. Apart form a few drops upon arrival we had great weather. The track in was boggy and would have been a real test if towing a van but ground would have been as wet as it gets so access would be ok nearly all the time.

Love this spot – only 10 minutes out of town. Had the place to ourselves, grassy pastures and horses over the fence. Didn’t get to try the pub but apparently it has great pizzas. Thoroughly recommend.

Planes, satellites and if you squint hard enough you might see something else. Watch the Starlink trail, wish upon a shooting star. Happy Valley Camp

Our property is located on the edge of Nundle and is within walking distance to the center of the village. The campsite is one open paddock off Barry road which runs from Nundle to Hanging Rock. It's a great secure base camp for exploring Nundle, Hanging Rock, and State Forest. There is a Crown reserve with the semi permanent Happy Valley creek on the back boundary. For fit hikers, a steep walk via a crown reserve will take you up to the Hanging Rock State forest. You will be camping in a large open paddock, not shared with any other campers, and you can park anywhere you like. This is not a secluded bush block, but an easy campsite in close proximity to everything Nundle has to offer. Campfires welcome and plenty of firewood available. Sometimes you will be sharing the paddock with a small herd of friendly and curious speckle park cattle. The mommas currently have young calves. They come and go as they please on their grazing adventures across my whole property. Please let me know if you are worried about the cattle and I will move them. P.S: the creek in not currently running, if you need water, ask.

Camping is available on a secluded and tranquil area on our organic farm, located in steep gorge country. Cleared areas with grass tracks provide for relaxing bushwalks or energetic mountain biking across the hilly terrain which extends to heavily timbered, steep terrain up to a lookout for scenic views to surrounding valleys. The local geology is a mix of basalt and conglomerate, creating wonderful rocky outcrops to explore. The organic farm is ideal for bird watchers, nature lovers, those who love an unspoiled, private spot to camp. There is limited phone service along the hilltops should it be needed. We are happy to offer a digital detox on this part of the farm, where you can be soothed by nature’s birdsong and vibrant beauty. We do have cattle grazing the property and therefore we ask that you do not bring your pets. Access to East Camp is 4wd only and during dry weather only. 4wd camper vans and trailers are not able to access the Hut and camps with amenities. East Camp is an exclusive camp located on a grassy hilltop with extensive views across the valley. This is 4wd only with access for some 4WD campervans and trailers. Self-contained adventurers only. BYO toilet. Limited phone service.

We are 12 kms from the New England Highway, 20 kms from both Wallabadah and Nundle, and 57 kms from Tamworth.Of the 3 towns, Nundle is the most historic - not surprising given its gold mining beginnings. But its been the grazing community on which its thrived since the latter part of the 19th century. Gold mining has largely been superseded by forestry and tourism, with Chaffey Dam providing a great playground for water sports, and Sheeba Dam in the natural beauty of Hanging Rock. The history of the region is told on the walls of the Peel Inn, which along with 'Glenoak', a once leading merino stud in the district, now cattle property, has been owned by the Schofield family since the 1860's. In the last 50 years, Robert and Margaret Schofield have been delivering a tasty combination of traditional Australian and Asian dishes, depending on the backgrounds of visiting chefs.Our property currently runs only a small number of sheep, soon to add goats for cheese production. Our adjoining neighbors run 800 head of Angus breeders. The area abounds with wildlife.Park or pitch your tent within the grounds of the house, with access to outdoor bathroom (toilet and shower) facilities, adjacent to the laundry with washer and dryer. Native wildlife and vegetation, wooded and cleared areas, dams, a waterfall and running creek in wetter seasons, hilly and undulating paddocks. Wedge-tail eagles, owls, cockatoos and galahs, kangaroos and echidnas are all regular visitors here. This is an appreciation of the Australian bush and primary production scenery. Each of our sites are completely private from each other, from our homestead and from neighbours. From your site take in views of the valley dotted with crops and grazing stock. Pot some yabbies, cool off in a dam, keep your eyes peeled for snakes and echidnas. Explore local areas such as Nundle (45 minutes to gold panning and the Woollen Mill) and Currabubula (30 minutes to the Curra pub), visit Goonoo Goonoo Station (magnificently restored and renovated historic sheep and cattle station now also an event centre and restaurant) and Dungowan Brewery (30 minutes to remodelled shearing-shed-come-restaurant and farm animal zoo). Church on Sundays is at St Lukes at 9:00am (7 minutes to local evangelical Anglican and morning tea is served). Four wheel drive access only. Maximum speed 20kms per hour. No power. No running water. No amenities. Please bring your own waste management which can be deposited to the green lid bin at the front gate. Campfires strictly only between 1 July and 1 September and never on a windy day.
