Caravan parks near Gunnedah

·

For scenic views of the New South Wales outback, plan a caravan camping trip to the rural town of Gunnedah. Stay at an in-town holiday park with pull-through caravan campsites, electricity hookups, guest laundries, dump points, and BBQs. Then, head out to Porcupine lookout, a scenic viewpoint with picnic tables, a bicycle track, and a geocaching find. Spring is the best time to catch views of golden canola fields, and autumn treats caravanners to views of paddocks rolling with tufts of white cotton. For some water play and fishing on the riverbank, drive to find powered and unpowered campsites at holiday parks near Namoi River, a popular spot to cool off during summer holidays. Go canoeing and bushwalking from riverfront caravan sites with camp kitchens, covered barbecues, and fish-cleaning tables. Or head to Timmallallie National Park, just two hours from Gunnedah. Its serene surroundings and views of Pilliga Forest are coupled with family-friendly caravan parks and on-site playgrounds for the little ones.

This secret little piece of paradise has been untouched for 40 years and is home to an abundance of birdlife.
