Weekend Trip to Mogo Creek Homestead

We spent a long weekend with two other families and loved it. Six adults and seven kids aged 3-11. Flat, grassy camping spots with a fire pit, next to the river with a kid-proof fence. Swings, and plenty of space for the kids to run and play. Even the Buffalos from the adjacent Mogo Zoo came to say hi. Darcy and his family are super friendly. The bags of wood are generous and kept a bit fire going. The toilets and nice, small and clean. The mountain bike trail around Mogo do not disappoint. Overall, a great experience. Not even affected by the cold or the rainy exit.

This is a beautiful spot, really well set up with fire pits and toilets, and lots of space to spread out. Our kids had an awesome time playing on the paddock and loved hearing the zoo animals next door. Very close to the new Mogo mtb trails, and super friendly and responsive hosts. What a spot! Did not disappoint. Great big site right in the river, sound of bellbirds, awesome big fire pit. Definitely worth getting the trailer full of wood. Excellent value 👍 we didn’t leave our site for the 3 nights. Kids fished, lots of room to set up badminton. We were lucky enough to be the only ones there. Lush green grass. Very friendly hosts. Will definitely be back. We have a large rig and had no trouble on the road in or getting down to the river. Thank you for sharing your wonderful property.

1 night at Mogo Creek Homestead

We loved our time at Mogo Creek! Such a beautiful property, each site with their own fire pit and seat. The property was located in such a cute town, it felt like we were tucked away in the country yet just minutes away from some beautiful beach's. Loved having the creek onsite with a kayak to use. Such a bonus having a compost toilet too! Darcy and Stacey were so lovely and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Kangarutha Farm

Beautiful bush land with spacious clearings for campers. Not many camping sites so it feels peaceful and in nature. Well kept grounds and good facilities - we didn’t mind the 10min walk to the bathroom. Lovely walks around the farm and dam - lots of tree ferns. Our hosts provided heaps of cut and stacked firewood: a treat. Only 5 mins drive to Tathra.

Tent camping at the site was wonderful. Very flat site, private and heaps of space. Perfect site to fish from but we didn’t have much luck. Can’t wait to come back!

Another great stay at a fabulous Mungerarie HipCamp. The property is really picturesque and the Deua River a lovely backdrop for water activities. Sue is a responsive and friendly host, comes and says hi and then leaves you to it. The sites are really well maintained with mown grass and a fire pit, with site 3 also having an old cart for you to use. The tidal river is readily accessible for fishing, kayaking or swimming. We were really spoilt on this trip, with the Aurora Australia putting on a show for us, truly amazing. We’ll definitely be back again.

Simply the best. Very private campsite. Walkable distance to a beautiful beach. Well faciliated. Warm shower indoor. Lit spacious kitchen with stove and BBQ. A couple of swings for the kids. Very friendly and helpful but almost invisible host. They are here if and only if u need them. They helped me jump start my car by the end of the camping trip when i was leaving. Could have been a baby disaster is they were not so helpful.

Very well maintained big cleared flat grassy areas The facilities are excellent loved the added bonus of camp kitchen area and we also rented the cabin. all spotlessly clean. The owners gave us very clear instructions and We had no trouble with the toilet or the hot water showers just need patience and maybe take notes before you head in as it’s Patchy even Telstra reception We had added bonus as we had acess to internet thru starlink provider. 1 hour drive mainly on dirt road to Bodalla 4x4 easy pulling camper trailers Would only recommend all wheel drive if you have high clearance and good tyres . We will definitely returning .

Misty Mountain Wildlife Refuge

Misty Mountain Wildlife Refuge is a 330 acre farm which provides sanctuary to kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas and many bird species including their habitats. There are Alpacas and Sheep, Kangaroos, Wombats, Kookaburras, Echidnas and many other animals that enjoy this property. The land has 80 acres of cleared grassland this side of the river, and for the adventurous and energetic you can rome the other 250 acres by crossing to the other side of the rive, there are large stands of rainforest and bushland, with 2.5 km of Brown Mountain Creek and its tributary meandering through it. There are some swimming holes and mini rapids; the crystal clear water flowing over the river rocks can be heard from most parts of the farm. The land comprises Little Brown Mountain and has 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and farmland with wonderful cloud formations and mists contributing their mystery and beauty to the dramatic landscape. There is an orchard with trees producing several varieties of apple, stone fruit and citrus in abundance. A cottage garden produces various vegetables and herbs such as spinach, celery, potatoes, garlic, chives, lettuce, rocket, parsley, turmeric, peas, beans, tomato etc. Past bushfire damage to some trees in the cleared paddocks is evident however, many are recovering well and most provide photographers with interesting and dramatic subject matter. Due to the catastrophic events of the NSW bush fires in this area all camp fires must be kept responsibly safe and no unsafe camp fires will be tolerated. All Guests are required to have an acceptable camp toilet, no holes in the ground. All river access points are shared, be mindful of others. As dogs are welcome and even well behaved dogs will be dogs when it comes to their family, all guests are advised to make themselves known prior to going near another's camp site, then there is no surprises either way. When you stay at Sunset Point you have lake frontage onto Borang Lake ( 4km from Potato Point), which connects directly with the Tuross lakes. You are able to launch your own tinny at our private jetty. A firepit is provided and you can collect your own wood yourself, or purchase a $25 a wheel barrow load with your booking. Wildlife is plentiful here, so please respect the environment and clean up after your self. There are some amazing local beaches only minutes to Potato Point or down the back track 10 minute drive or, ride your pushie or walk (its a bit of a walk) - straight to Blackfellows Point at Potato Point. There are lovely walking tracks around the property and lots of fishing, kayaking, SUP or pop your Tinnie in and fish till sunset or just plain lazy days. Watch the sunrise or walk to the other side of the property and watch the sunset. Watching the moon rise on the lake is quite beautiful. Launch your tinny and go fishing or simply kayak or lazy around. The site is dog friendly, but your pet must be well behaved and not aggressive as there may be other campers and pets on the property during your stay and a Sunset Point Camp Cat. You may not be right next to each other but please respect other guests, with noise. Just 10 minutes from the charming village of Bodalla, which was founded on the back of dairy farming and cheese production back in the 1860s. 30 minutes drive either way to the hubs of Narooma and Moruya. No barking dogs and no loud music or parties. This is a peaceful getaway. Short car trip to famous beaches where you leave nothing but footprints. It's our secret!

Pets are welcome but please only let them off-leash if they are friendly and won't disturb other campers. Free Dump points are located at Dalmeny and Moruya. Please note: Whilst we can accept motorhomes and campervans in normal weather conditions, if there has been heavy rain access is effected and these vehicles will struggle to get to the campsites. Beautiful Coastal farmland near to Mimosa Rocks National Parks. Easy to access. Close to stunning townships of Bermagui just 15mins north and Tathra 30mins south. Observe an abundance of wildlife - spot an eagle, kangaroo, wallaby, possum, goanna, wombat or whale! Surf or swim any of the amazing beaches or lagoons -Bunga, Hidden Valley, Arraganuu, Bithry, Cuttagee, Camel Rock, Horseshoe Bay or Blue Pool. Walk the dog at Beares beach in Bermagui or Cuttagee beach, 10mins drive north. This is an incredible coastline to explore. Enjoy local fresh produce from Bermagui farmers market in summer on Thursday afternoons; Saturday market at Honorbread courtyard; fresh seafood either catch yourself or purchase from Bermagui Fishermans Wharf. There is a little shed on this patch of land and campers have access to an undercover area off the side of the shed plus half of the inside area of the shed not being used for storage. There is a rainwater tank at the back of the shed. A nice, new compost toilet faces into the bush, we no longer use the one at the back of the shed. To locate when heading south on Tathra -Bermagui Rd , Turn left into Hergenhans Rd which is approx 14km south of Bermagui, then left into Wrens Rd (Goalen N Rd on google maps) , follow Wrens Rd about 800m and you'll see a gateway on your right with Hipcamp sign (Bunga Summit). It is opposite gateway on left with Lot 3 sign. The next gate is padlocked where the shed is. To access Bunga Beach, continue along Wrens Rd through neighbouring properties. The road has recently been resurfaced so is now accessible with 2WD. This is National Park so you can't have dogs here. To access Back Bunga Beach continue along Hergenhans Rd and left onto O'sheas Rd which is also a good accessible road. taking you through neighbouring properties and ending at Mimosa Rocks National Park. This is an amazing walk from the carpark south along the beach to Hidden Valley. For dog walking beaches head to Cuttagee just 10mins north towards Bermagui, or Beares Beach in Bermagui. For injured wildlife or any wombats with mange around the campsite please phone my neighbour Sara as she volunteers for Wildlife Rescue South Coast. Roagumba, or Roa for short, is our 920 acre patch of paradise in the stunning Yowrie Valley, an area traditionally inhabited by the Yuin people. Roa is a working cattle farm, made up of approximately 60% cleared land and the rest native bushland. The Yowrie Valley is largely surrounded by the beautiful Wadbilliga National Park. It is a 35 minute drive to the beaches near Bermagui, whilst the historic and quirky town of Tilba is 40 minutes away. The crystal clear Yowrie River flows along the western side of the property with numerous secluded swimming holes. The property is a working cattle farm so you're likely to meet some very friendly Jersey cows during your stay, as well as a lot of native wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats and birds. We operate three Hipcamp sites and two different locations on the property. Mountain Camp is a single site and offers complete seclusion and privacy, while River Camp is a double site and offers views across the valley whilst only being metres from the river. Both locations have composting toilets. We cater for small groups who are seeking a quiet, peaceful escape. Our sites are small and are capped at 6 people each, per night. To reduce traffic and out of respect to our neighbours, there is a maximum of 2 vehicles allowed per site. One additional vehicle per site can be organised, however we need at least 72 hours notice.

Batemans Bay is also just a 15-minute drive south, the closest large township for supplies, cafes, restaurants and the beautiful Clyde River entrance.
