Wot Doin is a great weekend on our beautiful property 20 minutes north of Bulahdelah. The vibe is warm, friendly, and delightfully rustic with everybody connected in some way.
Most people stay on site in tents, vans, cars, or swags. Camp sites will be on a 'first-in, first-choice' basis. Bringing your own water is recommended as there is only limited water available (and it's a long walk from where you will be camping), and you can't have too many torches. Camp stove, kettle, and cooking implements along with lightweight camping chairs are a good idea. Arriving early is also a good idea. The music starts at 11:00 am on Saturday. There is limited mobile reception.
The usual principles of leave no trace apply. Bring everything you need - leave nothing behind. It's a manicured rural property so sorry, no pets or open fires.

Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement.
The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Our property is located 20 minutes north of Forster–Tuncurry in an area called Hallidays Point. Hallidays Point has a population of around 4,000, consisting of a mix of retirees and a fair proportion of tradespeople—everything retirees need most!
We’re about a 15-minute walk to Diamond Beach and a 10-minute drive to the local shopping centre, which includes a bakery, IGA, chemist, two hairdressers, pharmacy, real estate office, library, and post office. If you’re into golf, there is an international-standard course just a few minutes away, complete with a great licensed restaurant.

Wot Doin is a great weekend on our beautiful property 20 minutes north of Bulahdelah. The vibe is warm, friendly, and delightfully rustic with everybody connected in some way.
Most people stay on site in tents, vans, cars, or swags. Camp sites will be on a 'first-in, first-choice' basis. Bringing your own water is recommended as there is only limited water available (and it's a long walk from where you will be camping), and you can't have too many torches. Camp stove, kettle, and cooking implements along with lightweight camping chairs are a good idea. Arriving early is also a good idea. The music starts at 11:00 am on Saturday. There is limited mobile reception.
The usual principles of leave no trace apply. Bring everything you need - leave nothing behind. It's a manicured rural property so sorry, no pets or open fires.

Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement.
The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Our property is located 20 minutes north of Forster–Tuncurry in an area called Hallidays Point. Hallidays Point has a population of around 4,000, consisting of a mix of retirees and a fair proportion of tradespeople—everything retirees need most!
We’re about a 15-minute walk to Diamond Beach and a 10-minute drive to the local shopping centre, which includes a bakery, IGA, chemist, two hairdressers, pharmacy, real estate office, library, and post office. Nearby, there is also a tavern and sports club, as well as several cafés and restaurants. If you’re into golf, there is an international-standard course just a few minutes away, complete with a great licensed restaurant.
Forster–Tuncurry, about a 20-minute drive away, is the main shopping hub. With a population of around 22,000, it is a premier coastal destination renowned for pristine Wallis Lake, stunning surf beaches, and marine life encounters. Top attractions include diving with grey nurse sharks, dolphin-watching cruises, swimming in the Tuncurry Rock Pool, walking to Bennetts Head Lookout, and exploring Booti Booti National Park.

Water activities include boating, kayaking, and fishing on Wallis Lake; exploring the Forster Fairy Pool; scuba diving at Shark Gutters or Big Seal Rock; and whale watching from Cape Hawke Lookout.
Hiking options include the 4 km Bicentennial Walk, which connects Forster Main Beach to One Mile Beach.
Beaches for swimming include Diamond Beach (a terrific walking beach) and Black Head Beach, which has surf lifesaving facilities. In Forster, you’ll also find Main Beach, the Tuncurry Rock Pool, One Mile Beach, and Burgess Beach.

Such a wonderful place. The bushland, ammenities and friendly welcome made our stay really enjoyable. We had our dog, who loved it and it was a half hour drive to a beautiful dog friendly beach at Hawks Nest.

The first thing you'll notice is the beautifully maintained property with attention to detail that goes above and beyond. The camp kitchen and outdoor shower are exceptional. Everything is clean and tidy and Rod and Kellie are generous and kind people who care about you enjoying your stay and just to note, they also have a cute van and a cabin for the "Non-campers" in your group. 10/10 we will be back. Thanks for a great stay, we left relaxed and rejuvenated.

If you're looking for a place where animals are family, you'll find pure happiness at Luckystars Sanctuary! Clint is a one of a kind host, and you'll want for nothing. Unfortunately, I could only stay one night, but I'll definitely be back...simply a magical place and so much fun...super easy to get to...plenty of space and beautiful nature...highly recommended - also for solo travelers like me :)

We wish to stay longer but it was a bit expensive for use shower and toilet ! If you have a RV best place to be .

Lucky Star Sanctuary is set on absolutely beautiful land, peaceful and full of heart. Clint is a wonderful host, very accommodating and clearly devoted to what he does. The animals are a real highlight and it is obvious they are deeply loved and well cared for.
Just a practical note for future campers: the toilet is located exactly as described, but it is uphill. With my car setup, it was not easy to just drive up there without packing things away, so that is something to keep in mind depending on your mobility and vehicle setup.
That said, this is a very rustic and basic stay, so come prepared for simple camping. If you are happy with that, it is absolutely worth it for the price, the setting, and the chance to be around the animals. A special, down to earth experience.

Only a one night stopper for us, but a welcome greeting and a lovely spot to set up on. Ensuite cabin was spot on and a nice change from our cramped shower inthe RV.
Recommend this stopover site to anyone.

Lovely spot for peace and quiet. Clint friendly and informative. The animals were brilliant, perfect paradise for animal lovers. Would have loved to have stayed longer. Toilet and shower, electric, and WiFi were really handy to have.

Exceptionally well maintained. Camp kitchen is very well equipped. The Rustic charm is astonishing and very relaxing. Kellie & Rod are extremely helpful and very friendly. Our Kindred Acres is a credit to them and reflects all the love, vision and hard work they have put into it. Highly recommend OKA, do yourself a favour and add OKA to your travel list.

Beautiful cared for property hosted by the delightful Kellie and Rod and their onsite caretakers. Plenty of space. Our site overlooked a lake with an abundance of water Lillie’s. The camp kitchen is extraordinary, decorated with old-time farming memorabilia. The outside shower (private) and toilets were cleaned daily and spotlessly clean.

We had an amazing stay at The Hatch and couldn’t recommend it more. Susan and Bernard were incredibly friendly and welcoming hosts, which made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
The campsites are spacious and well laid out, with large shelters and easy access to the river. Toilets and showers were spotless and clearly very well maintained. The setting is wonderfully relaxing and quiet—perfect for switching off and enjoying nature.
For families, the animal nursery and the abundance of playground equipment would be a real highlight. We also loved the free kayaks, which were fantastic for exploring the river, and there are plenty of great spots for fishing too.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we will definitely be coming back.

The Grove was a beautiful and well situated campsite for a trip with my partner and our dog. The trees were shady (essential for hot weekend) and there were many birds, so the feel was very natural although you camp close to the working farm facilities. The owners and caretakers are around, friendly and not intrusive.
The shower and toilet are a convenient short walk from camp & kept clean. A daily shower was blissful in the heat. We had plenty of firewood to cook with & my partner loved chopping the big logs provided.
The resident dog Simba loves to come and say hi. We enjoyed this mostly, and he played well with our dog. We had to put in a bigger boundary with him when he started eating my dog’s food, & was persistent in asking for games when we were relaxing. He did listen to commands when we became firmer & spent a bit less time with us.
There are only two campsites and this suited us as we were looking for privacy and connection while we were away from our busy lives. One night a group came to camp right next to us in a spot we hadn’t seen as designated for camping. This felt less peaceful and private. I would suggest if you are after privacy, to confirm what spaces will be used.
Overall a really wonderful experience & my dog was relaxed and often off leash. Rod gave information on local swimming holes, which are a short drive away & beautiful. The location is within 30/45mins to towns for experiences and supplies. We had an excellent stay & totally recommend.
