Some of our campsites/ Van sites DO NOT come with facilities. Please read your site description carefully. We have 1 powered site that is power ONLY on our Dam site. No toilets, showers, kitchen or pool. You need to be fully self contained.
Some Campsites are in our lovely small manicured bush garden setting. It's a level, grass/lawn shaded area. There are 4x 15 amp powered sites. Suitable for small quiet groups/ families. NOT suitable for loud partying. The state forest is a short 10min drive away for bush walking, mountain biking and 4 wheel driving. Beach is
40 min drive away. We are located close to the Central Coast and Newcastle. (In Cooranbong )
Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months.
We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area.
FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites ourSmall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. For the next guest All cleaning products under sink. WE HAVE 2 DOGS that are people friendly., who love to meet new fury friends , they do have the run of our property .
As our property has a lot of maintenance lawns /gardens ; we may use mowers blowers etc , we will possibly maintain between 10 am to 2 pm If needed.
WE HAVE A LOT OF WALLABIES RUNNING AROUND PLEASE DRIVE TO 5 KILOMETRES

Our property contains the first road in and out of Colo - the original road is supported by hand built dry rock walls some of which are over 3 m high. Often referred to as convict built, but more likely built by freemen who were former convicts.
The property housed the load master's residence who controlled the cargo boats that docked to collect the valley’s produce. This was then transported back down the Colo River which flows into the Hawkesbury river and leads to Broken Bay following the coastline down to Old Sydney Town. The beach diagonally across the river was landed upon by members of the First Fleet’s exploratory scouting party on the lookout for quality farm land - some of which is still in production today.
Our property is on the uppermost reach of freshwater but with tidal influence. This deep water allows swimming and canoeing all year round. Our property is adjacent to the only council built canoe launching facilities on the Colo River.

Located at Bilpin, this beautiful campsite is nestled at the foot of the majestic Blue Mountains and backs onto Wollemi National Park. This magical 16 acres is abundant with wildlife & where you camp is the mouth to the beginning of some great hiking tracks in the National Park! :)
There are a few great campsites to choose from- all 2WD accessible. 1 at the top of the property (good for families/large groups up to approx 20) with good flat ground and surrounded by a lush forest. It's close to the quiet country road so it is easy access in and out, another 2 at the back with water views and 1 in the forest (Only if you have 4wd and portable loo we can give you an exclusive spot in the bottom of the golden gorge). Sit back and relax around the campfire whilst toasting a marshmallow or some damper.
This campsite offers a unique heptagonal toilet (no shower yet but its on the way). Please ensure you're fully self sufficient with all other supplies (including water).
From here you can explore the amazing Blue Mountain views, marvel at a magical glow worm dell, check out the 2 apple cider breweries or gin distillery and taste some of the region's delicious produce.
Colo River is 30 mins away, a clear waterhole is 10 min drive (4wd only- hosts can transport if available), the mouth of a hiking trail to the National Park is on the property, the main township of Bilpin is close by with the baker, fruit and veggie picking, Mountain Bells Cafe (host recommendation), apple pies galore and Melange restaurant , the markets are on Saturday morning 10-12 noon at the local hall and there is a free meditation group 9am Sunday at the monastery.
With so much to do you will need more than one night or plan a return visit to the amazing Mountain Lagoon Hideaway at Bilpin!
We can also offer massage and reiki treatments on site as a 'nature immersion' experience or if you prefer it can be in the privacy of a massage studio (10 mins away), guided nature and wildlife walks/sunset walks or longer hikes, professional ecology tours, fire twirling lessons or performance and African drumming lessons, games for the kids, local produce hampers, eggs and BBQS (with notice and if hosts are available). There is a multitude of walking, hiking and mountain bike trails. There are also many nearby horse riding trails. The property backs on to Calabash Creek which is like a rain Forrest once you get down to the valley floor.

The camping area is surrounded by untouched rainforest, perfect for wandering and exploring the rock pools. Whether you’re into the excitement of off-roading or just want a place to escape, this little slice of paradise has something for everyone.
All campers need to be self-contained, so please ensure you bring along your camp toilet, and take all waste when you go.
Well-behaved four-legged friends welcome also!
With the nearest country villages of Paxton and Ellalong just 15 minutes up the road, with their cafes, local pub and general store, you can grab supplies nearby. Or, head into Cessnock, 20km up the dirt road for more essential services.
**Please note that the creek and waterhole pictured are reliant on the weather. During drought or extended dry periods the water level may be lower than pictured. Please message for the latest updates.
UPDATE - 18th June 2025: We regret to advise that following multiple flooding events our access road and campsites have been severely damaged (ie impassable even by 4wd) and are currently unsafe. As the cost of repairs are significant we cannot provide a rectification date at this stage.

I stayed at Steve’s camp recently and really enjoyed my time there overall. The location is great—nice and close to Sydney, with a good hike just up the road that makes it easy to explore the area.
Steve himself was an absolute legend! His brownies, stories, prizes, and local knowledge really added a special touch to the stay and made the experience more personal and fun.
A few things to note for future campers: the map could use an update as it was a bit hard to read, and the campsite is fairly close to the road, so you’ll hear some road noise at times. There’s also a bright streetlight that stays on all night, which might bother some people depending on which site they’re in. The walk to the bathroom at night or early morning can be a little awkward since it goes through other campsites.
Overall though, it was a great stay with a friendly vibe, good amenities, and an unbeatable location for a quick getaway from the city.

Weekend Trip to Mountain Lagoon Hideaway
Absolutely loved it. This was our first time glamping, the private spot in the forest was the perfect get away for us. Everything looked clean and organised. There were two chairs and table to sit outside and we used it for having a BBQ using a portable stove while enjoying a cold drink for dinner. Inside the glamping tent the bed was so comfortable, perfect temperature inside, there were two bean bags to lay on, cabinets and books to read with three light lamps. The host prepared us with two chocolate cookies sooo good. We stayed for 1 night and we had a great sleep, so quiet, nice and cool inside, not hot at night. Toilet is very close to walk to, water to wash hands provided, there is also portable water bag to take cold shower if needed. Camping for other people are not too far away, which is on the way to the walking track for a little nice hike. The only thing I would recommend for the host to have an outdoor table umbrella or a cover in case it rains, but we brought our own beach umbrella to use it as table cover as it was drizzling a little bit of rain, I would recommend to bring a gazebo, apart from that It was a great experience, could have stayed for two nights, it felt like living hundreds of years ago - nomadic life. Danii and Adam are lovely. They gave us a cute little NYE and xmas gift.
They were incredibly gracious hosts. Their property is amazing, and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle.
There is so much to explore in the area for those that are a little savvy as well.

We just spent our weekend here and it was a wonderful experience. The pitches were well-spaced which made setting up our tent easy. The facilities, including the showers and toilets, were impeccably clean and frequently maintained throughout our stay. There is also swimming pool great for the kids and adults.
The staff were incredibly friendly.The location is perfect—close enough to town for supplies but far enough to enjoy a truly quiet, starry night. We will definitely be back next year!"

Steve is incredibly friendly and welcoming , the brownies are absolutely amazing, and canoeing on the Colo River is hands down the best part. This was a great property for those who want a remote camping feel! The facility was as described, and it was nice to have access to a toilet/shower. David came to introduce himself and told us about the property and the not infrequent koala sightings! While we didn’t see any during our stay, we did have a great time.

The place is ok overall. The kayaks were working well right next to the river, the view is nice but the quality of the camping site is regular. The bathroom is a latrine and campfires are not allowed. Is works well to get disconnected close to the city for one day.
