Weekend Trip to Dharawal Camp

We loved our stay at David’s camp, it’s a beautiful peaceful area, well set up and cared for. David is a great host, very helpful and friendly. Apart from a quick intro on arrival and a visit to bring by more balls for the ping pong table, we barely knew he was there. We were also graced with a visit from the local kelpie who played with the kids (and us!) and kept us company. Having the cabin next to the campsite is so helpful. All the fun of camping but a hot shower, toilet, gas bbq, and food prep/ cleanup space makes it more like a private amenities building next door to our tent. For anything else we need, Campbelltown is 15 minutes away. Would 100% recommend a visit. We will definitely be back. Thanks to David for allowing access to his beautiful little slice of the world

Weekend Trip to Mountain Lagoon Camping & Glamping

Private, peaceful campsite with a friendly host (Adam) who greeted us on arrival. Eco-friendly toilet was appreciated and cute ducks in the pond. Would recommend for small or large groups keen to have a quiet getaway (no loud parties).

Weekend Trip to C Colo - just beautiful

Steve is a lovely, hospitable host who will visit you with brownies every night. The site was flat and open, our dogs loved playing. The river is a walk away if you want a swim, or there is a platform and so pool stairs to kayak/canoe. Basic set up with a composting toilet in a home made shack (no light inside, toilet paper is provided though) and some firepits.

2 nights at Mistinthegumtrees BUDGET 2 GLAMPING

I camped over Easter long weekend. Carol was very accomodating and a wonderful host. Congratulations on the fantastic work done to the property. It is conveniently located to the M1 but also Awaba mountain bike park (key reason for our visit). Campers will find a nice and quiet location, with plenty of space.

2 nights at Central Coast Valley Farm

Beautiful place for camping. We went here with 2 kids for 2 nights and it was wonderful. Andy is a fantastic host and even set up a work tent to provide some extra shelter from the rain and provided extra kindling for us. Definitely a special place and we will be back! We enjoyed the local wild life and watching the mist roll in and out of the valley in the mornings.

2 nights at Mountain Lagoon Camping & Glamping

We had a great time camping here. Dannii and Adam were super helpful. The place was very secluded and peaceful. Will definitely recommend.

2 nights at Central Coast Valley Farm

A wonderful place to camp - the hilltop spot is on a small hill and offers lovely views down the valley, into the morning sun. We saw Kangaroos and deer, and Andy was very welcoming. Would be a good base for hiking in the area.

4 nights at Dharawal Camp

We loved our 4 nights in Dharawal Camp! Great, level site with marked fire pit. Facilities are excellent. Hot water showers were a bonus, as were the dishwashing facilities. Very quiet despite still being pretty close to town. Polly the kelpie will inevitably appear at mealtimes - she's very friendly, though. David is an excellent host, and we particularly loved the art class with him. We'd love to come back to Dharawal.

4 nights at Calabash Haven

We had the most amazing stay at Calabash Haven! The open camping area is surrounded by beautiful views in every direction—it really felt like a peaceful escape from the city, yet it’s so close to Sydney. Alex was extremely helpful and welcoming. It was perfect for our family, including the kids and our dog who absolutely loved the space to run around. Only 8 minutes to the shops and Berowra Waters, where you can enjoy a relaxing coffee and even tried a bit of fishing. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind in nature without going too far from home! 9/10

We both feel so privileged to have visited this property. The owners were so so welcoming and we felt in harmony here amongst the nature & so many animals. Carol & Dee did so much to make sure we felt we had what we needed and we would highly recommend this place for camping. We saw so much bird life and our dog loved this area too. We also saw the cabins which also looked amazing & will consider to try next time. You won’t be disappointed & we will be back for sure!!

We loved our long weekend here. Carol and Dee were great hosts, very easy going and have done amazing work with their land. The OUR DAM campsite was great with power, water and plenty or room for us and the pooches. We can't wait to go back!

We loved camping at C.Colo,on Easter long weekend, site 3 and 4 both had plenty of space. Steve is a legend! Especially when he comes down with Brownies each evening!! Very knowledgeable on the local area, and we enjoyed watching him come down on different modes of transport! Great communication on directions etc to the site. Toilet is basic, but is clean and serves it purpose. There are public toilets a short walk. Entrance to River is just behind sites, although we chose to walk a short distance to the public entrance, which has wide steps into the river. Very clean kitchen, shower and bathroom and they are only a few steps away from the campsite. Even though the weather was hot, there were plenty of shades from trees in the afternoon so we didn’t need gazebo. Recommend this place to beginners

Some of our campsites/ Van sites DO NOT come with facilities. Please read your site description carefully. We have 1 powered site that is power ONLY on our Dam site. No toilets, showers, kitchen or pool. You need to be fully self contained. Some Campsites are in our lovely small manicured bush garden setting. It's a level, grass/lawn shaded area. There are 4x 15 amp powered sites. Suitable for small quiet groups/ families. NOT suitable for loud partying. The state forest is a short 10min drive away for bush walking, mountain biking and 4 wheel driving. Beach is 40 min drive away. We are located close to the Central Coast and Newcastle. (In Cooranbong ) Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months. We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area. FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites ourSmall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. For the next guest All cleaning products under sink. WE HAVE 2 DOGS that are people friendly., who love to meet new fury friends , they do have the run of our property . As our property has a lot of maintenance lawns /gardens ; we may use mowers blowers etc , we will possibly maintain between 10 am to 2 pm If needed.

Mountain Lagoon Camping & Glamping

Located at Bilpin, this beautiful campsite is nestled at the foot of the majestic Blue Mountains and backs onto Wollemi National Park. This magical 16 acres is abundant with wildlife and where you camp is the mouth to the beginning of some great hiking tracks in the National Park! There are a few great campsites to choose from- one at the top of the property (good for families/large groups up to approx 20) with good flat ground and surrounded by a lush forest. It's close to the road so it is easy access in and out, another two at the back with water views and one in the forest (If you have 4wd and portable loo we can give you an exclusive spot in the bottom of the golden gorge). Enjoy the sounds of the bubbling stream and see the sunset at the waterhole. Sit back and relax around the campfire whilst toasting a marshmallow or some damper. This campsite offers a unique heptagonal toilet (no shower yet but its on the way). Please ensure you're fully self sufficient with all other supplies (including water). From here you can explore the amazing Blue Mountain views, marvel at a magical glow worm dell, check out the 2 apple cider breweries and taste some of the region's delicious produce. Colo River is 30 mins away, a clear waterhole is 10 min drive ( 4wd only- hosts can transport if available), the mouth of a hiking trail to the National Park is on the property, the main township of Bilpin is close by with the baker, fruit and vege picking, Mountain Bells Cafe (host recommendation), apple pies galore and the restaurant , the markets are on Saturday morning 10-12 noon at the local hall and there is a free meditation group 9am Sunday at the monastery. With so much to do you will need more than one night or plan a return visit to the amazing Mountain Lagoon Hideaway at Bilpin! We can also offer massage and reiki treatments on site as a 'nature immersion' experience or if you prefer it can be in the privacy of a massage studio (10 mins away), guided nature and wildlife walks/sunset walks or longer hikes, professional ecology tours, fire twirling lessons or performance and African drumming lessons, games for the kids, local produce hampers, eggs and BBQS (with notice and if hosts are available). Please discuss with your hosts for further details and availability :) PLEASE ensure you read rules and safety as well as directions, because GPS will take you to the wrong property. The land is a nature retreat and developing animal rescue sanctuary so we love to share the space with respectful nature loving people :) Our motto is leave no trace. We look forward to welcoming you to our unique and magical slice of paradise! 🪵 IMPORTANT : Only use rock circles for fire. Fire must be put out if you 1) Leave the site each day 2) Each night before bed and 3) When you leave completely. IF THIS IS NOT DONE AND THE FIRE BRIGADE IS CALLED 'YOU ARE' RESPONSIBLE FOR THE 10K PLUS FINE. Neighbours have and will call the fire brigade if they see smoke. This is a strict policy due to being in a National Park and to protect the precious nature and wildlife. Two buckets of water are supplied for this purpose. Sticks in the buckets for animals to safely exit if they fall in. Whats App us with plenty of notice if you need more water. If it is hot weather or windy there may be a TOTAL FIRE ban. C Colo - just beautiful

Our property contains the first road in and out of Colo - the original road is supported by hand built dry rock walls some of which are over 3 m high. Often referred to as convict built, but more likely built by freemen who were former convicts. The property housed the load master's residence who controlled the cargo boats that docked to collect the valley’s produce. This was then transported back down the Colo River which flows into the Hawkesbury river and leads to Broken Bay following the coastline down to Old Sydney Town. The beach diagonally across the river was landed upon by members of the First Fleet’s exploratory scouting party on the lookout for quality farm land - some of which is still in production today. Our property is on the uppermost reach of freshwater but with tidal influence. This deep water allows swimming and canoeing all year round. Our property is adjacent to the only council built canoe launching facilities on the Colo River.
