Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance.
Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times.
2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites.
3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability.
We are on acreage (approx 7 acres) in Otford, surrounded by forest, backing onto the very southern end of the Royal National Park Sydney/Wollongong. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring.

Brightwater sits beside Olney State Forest and Kuluwan Flora Reserve. It is a 50-acre farm with a lovely spring-fed dam, with our nearby campsite. The site contains van parking, an open pavilion, an open deck by the stream, a fire pit, and a dunny. It is private and secluded, and with just one group staying at a time, you are guaranteed the space to yourselves.
Please go straight ahead on Collins Ave and enter through the car entrance, NOT the truck entrance which is off to the right. If you come in the truck entrance I can't see you.
There are many beautiful walking and bike trails in the area. Lots of wildlife to meet, including water dragons, wild ducks, and pythons, to name a few. There is also nearby evidence of the original occupants, the Darkinjung people.
You are also welcome to bring a couple of horses! There's a safe paddock with a trough and nice trails in the area to explore.
The Kulnura General Store and bottleshop is just 9km down the road for basic supplies.

Such an incredibly secluded place to stay. Next to no noise apart from nature itself. Suzy was amazing, very warm and friendly and left me to be after that. I absolutely loved my stay there I would definitely stay again.

Fantastic spot. I have been four times with my sons and will continue to go. Jim is a great host and provides a perfect combination of bush outlook, privacy and spaced out camping spots with the comfort of your own toilet and drinking water. Also have easy access to Morisset for supplies if needed. Highly recommend.

We had a great time camping at Dharawal, highlights were the pizza oven, use of the cabin with table tennis, being only us, and the location: very close to Jingga pool track, mountain bike tracks and shop if needed, it’s a fantastic place and would highly recommended for a few days break.

We loved camping at Mandalong Manor! Our site was well secluded from other campers. Jim drove down 20L water jerries each day. We saw many kangaroos and birds and they did not raid our site. We had a nice view from our site. Jim was welcoming and helpful and saved us from our car trouble. Jim's neighbours were really nice. Jim has a cool collection of old Land Rovers. Overall great experience would reccomend!

Me and a friend did 2 nights here and loved it. Easy to get to and easy check in. Cath (and the dogs) met us on arrival. The dogs do greet you “enthusiastically” and jumped on the car which wasn’t great but they are sweet. The white dogs are guards dogs (let out at night) and take their role seriously on the farm so should not be approached. This is standard with all guard dogs and you shouldn’t let it put you off. Cath will explain when you arrive also.
We loved the big open space and variety of setups that the camp site brings. The open cabin is fantastic and provided much needed shelter from the storm! It got a bit hairy at points so glad we had that. It’s nice bring raised up looking across the camp.
The big fire pit was great with the grill in the corner so you can cook over coals and still have your main fire next to it. Huge water tank with washing up area and tap was also a great addition.
As per another comment, there are leeches but again, just make sure to wear long trousers tucked in and check yourself when you’re walking around camp or on the trails. Same for all forest camping. We didn’t feel like it was too much of an issue. You also have the deck to keep up off the ground if you want to.
The site is plenty big for a ground of people with options to pitch tents on grass, mud, sand, the deck or in the cabin itself which we did. There’s also a couple of flat spots for parking for rooftop tents.

We had a great weekend staying at Dharawal Camp. The camp has plenty of flat ground for tents, easy parking for campervans, and a spacious cabin with running water, some basic supplies and a ping pong table to entertain little ones. Jinnga waterhold nearby was beautiful and really worth the walk. We also had the pleasure of learning about David's art practice with his add-on art lesson, and would highly recommend this to others.

This is our second time staying here in summer and it is just the most perfect campsite. It has it all - privacy, a beautiful healthy dam to swim in, plenty of shade from trees and the handy leanto for wet weather. There is tank water, tables and chair, a massive fire pit and plenty of fire wood.
We can’t fault Caths place!

We were greeted welcomingly by the host, Cath, and her friendly dogs. We were then shown to the camp site- it was quite private and very much in nature. It was quite warm the days we were there for, so we were glad the camp site was set in a shaded area to keep us cool. The sounds of birds and other wildlife were lovely to hear, especially at night with the frogs and insects. Our dog had a blast walking the trails nearby as well as swimming in the dam. Highly recommend. Just make sure to bring your insect repellent and you’re all set!

We loved the privacy and beauty of this site. Perfect for tent camping, swimming and even fishing! Caught a bass, saw a herd of wild deer, had several fires and especially enjoyed the stars at night. Suzy was friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be back, next time with our dog!

Really well maintained site. Not a single bit of trash to be found. Very friendly and informative host. Caught two Bass, and a few platypus sightings. Woke to a field full of deer. Didn't need leveling ramps for the camper. And very peaceful.

Nice camping spot for a relaxed little getaway. The spots to fellow campers are really far from each other, so you still have peace and quiet in case others decided for the same spot.
Lots of wallabies and kangaroos around, very peaceful.
The organic toilet worked well, no smell or whatsoever.

I solo camped here with my dog and we had the most perfect time. We played in the dam, followed the walking trails into the state forest from the camp site, sat around the fire, and watched and listened to the wildlife within the area.
This site is very well equip with tank water and tap set up, clean and new drop toilet, large sheltered area, established fire pit with cook top, wooden platform with tent anchors as well as a grassy patch to pitch a tent, and great little dam to swim and play in.
The hosts were great, their dogs are great as well, the ridgebacks were really friendly to my kelpie cross, which he was happy with.
Another plus is this is tucked away from the main house, and there are no other camping sites, so its really private and quiet.
Highly recommend this site, I'm sure I'll be back!
