With over 600 acres of Australian bush, our property is ideal for campers that want their own space. We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). There are multiple camp sites on the property - some are close to hot showers and toilets, others are within a short walking distance. Some sites are perfect for our self sufficient campers who might want a nice private location and don't need access to amenities.
There are two shared camp kitchen areas (with pizza ovens and bbqs). We have two amenities blocks with toilets and hot showers and two further compost toilets located at other sites. Campfires are permitted in designated areas (check with us when booking) and firewood can be added to your booking - we do require at least 24 hours notice if you want wood.
There are lots of old-style games for the kids such as cricket, tennis, playground, bikes available, a swim in the dam and general country running around fun! Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles.
The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922.

Overlooking rural paddocks, and the river, you can enjoy the tranquility that a farming landscape has to offer. Perfect family holiday location.
Town center is a 5 min drive or a short walk/ride, so access to town facilities and amenities is very convenient. Please refer to images for the latter.
Firewood - please bring your own, we do not have firewood or fallen branches from trees. "Wombles Common" has a permanent fire pit area, all other sites require transportable fire pits (provided or bring your own). Please do not leave burn scars on the ground and please take your ashes with you or dump them in the "Wombles Common" fire pit area.
River - the river is excellent for fun canoeing adventures. Entering the river is at your own risk.
Fishing - great fishing in the river. We love the Red Fin!
Pets - pets are welcome but need to be controlled. The safety and comfort of the resident sheep, our neighbours and other campers are a priority. Please don't not allow your pets to disturb (including barking, wandering or chasing sheep) the peace of those around them.

There are families of kangaroos that live within the property as well as some wild rabbits and hares. Keep your eyes peeled for an abundance of wildlife like kookaburras, owls, parrots and ducks.
Plenty more for nature lovers here, including bush walking and bird watching. We are located within 15 mins to Pejar dam for local fishing and kayaking (no motors aloud on the dam).
Just 10 mins into Goulburn CBD for all the local amenities, including supermarkets and boutique shops and galleries. We also have a variety of local playgrounds and parks to wonder like the wetlands for more nature and wildlife walks. For the kids, we have our newly finished aquatic centre with splash park, and two bmx pump tracks and skate parks.
We are located a short 20min drive to "Rambo" the big ram, which is on the list of big things located within Australia. Walk to the top and experience the local sheep industry history as well as shop local produce and giftware.
Located a 20min drive west to the beautiful country towns of Crookwell and Taralga, where you can find country pubs, boutique eateries and shops or why not visit Taralga wildlife park for your up close encounter with some animals.
Dogs are welcome but must remain on leads at ALL times as this is a working farm and protecting our wildlife is priorty.

We’re pet-friendly! Please note, however, that we are a working farm with ongoing activities and resident animals, including livestock and farm dogs, so all pets must be kept under control at all times. Aggressive, disruptive, or potentially dangerous dogs of any type are not allowed — especially restricted breeds (e.g. Pit Bulls, Bull Mastiffs). Stunning campsite at Jarabin on the bank of the Murrumbidgee River! Peaceful, well-maintained pet-friendly sites (3) with fire pits (when permitted). We stayed 2 nights with our dog who loved exploring and paddling in the river. Nothing better than sitting quietly (with no phone reception!) watching the river change character throughout the day. Dozens of different birds and corellas use the river as a highway in the late afternoon. Bliss! As night falls, star-gazing took over - brilliant sky. And we even spotted a wombat! We ordered meat from Ben and the steak was the best we've had in long time. Clear instructions to access the property. Sad to leave but we'll be back!

So beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. Best Hipcamp I’ve been to. Did some fishing and swimming. Lots of wood lying around so had some great camp fires. So relaxing and the serenity is everything one could wish for. We stayed mid week and there was hardly anyone here.

Wayne met us upon our arrival, recommend a fantastic spot and was extremely helpful with all our questions. We stayed for 2 nights, could have easily stayed for a week!

Lovely property that is well cared for by Jol and Karen. They are friendly, helpful and patient with kids and Jack Russells. We used as a base to visit friends in ACT, but would have also loved to just stay on the property, swim in the dam and bike ride for the four days.

When we arrived , driving in, it looked like there was not many spots near the river to setup.
Drive in a little bit past the already established campers on Aus day weekend , and there was plenty of space down the rear on the river . Ground was level and flat , but we choose a spot with no shade for solar.
The campers were well behaved and it was a great spot .
The water was icy cold , and become addictive for some strange reason , you jump in , takes your breath away , you get out and want to do it again. Local friendly platypus was close to us and could give a hoot about us .
At one stage I was half a metre away filming the little guy.
We explored a State Forest close by, which had some not to hard tracks to follow, lots of fun.
Great spot , we would comeback with either inflatable tubes or rafts, you could get dropped of further up the river , and ride the river flow straight back to camp.

Awesome spot on the banks of the Tumut River. Close to town if you need anything or want to get a pub feed, but far enough away that you do not hear any traffic.
Was very busy over the long weekend, so may be avoid the peak periods if you prefer space and not feeling too cramped.

Lovely camp spot on the river, highly recommend bring a pool noodle or floating toy to go down the river. River runs fast . Super friendly owner and lots of space . There is alot a dump point in Tumut

We loved our stay! Thanks Wayne for checking in on us, and for letting us enjoy your beautiful property. The camp along the river is stunning and it was quiet and peaceful dispite a fair few campers being around. We never felt cramped and it is a beautiful location. We can’t wait to do the same next year!
