We provide a large undercover area, kitchen area with BBQ with toilets and showers. There are large mowed areas for ball games and a campfire area as well. This spot suits groups who want to get away. We offer our property to people who want to get out of the congestion of Sydney and enjoy a peaceful getaway. Guests can enjoy large mowed areas for recreation, they have use of a large undercover hall, there is a great campfire area with some firewood provided ( extra can be collected). Guests have use of the 3 buildings in this area which are Hall area, BBQ kitchen and bathrooms. There is a designated area for pitching tents or camp trailers. Guests have direct access for swimming to Webbs Creek this area is a shared area. Camp Bunya is a private campsite for group bookings. We offer our site to guests who want privacy and seclusion, enjoy the great outdoors and choose to make a little extra noise without upsetting the neighbours. Water access for swimming is available at your own beach. Toilets and shower amenities are provided. There is no power or cooking facilities, however a BBQ can be provided for hire. The campsite features mowed areas for camping with a large undercover area with a fireplace.

Our family with young kids and small dogs loved our time there. The tents were nice and spacious, and we liked the provided linen. The toilets were modern and clean, and we enjoyed the large shared firepit in the middle. The highlight was spending the hot days down at the river - it had a lovely atmosphere and was shallow enough for the kids and dogs to wade through. It is a bit tricky to walk up and down the embankment, especially if you're carrying a toddler or baby. The road into the campground is a little rough for a sedan or typical car, but no issue for a SUV. Great option for a first-time family camping trip - we will be back!

It is very clean and makes you feel most comfortable during camp. It was so nice that the inside of the tent was spacious and clean, and the bathroom shower was also very clean for use as an outdoor bathroom and shower. The campfire was also set up without danger, which was great for the kids and even better because there were not many bugs.

Highly recommend silky oaks. I was in the retro Glamping and there was everything you needed. Bed, bbq, outdoor chairs, fridge, kettle, fan and heater if needed. Outdoor shower with hot water and toilet. Great location close to Sydney but still peaceful and private. Lots to do wander around the farm, feed the horses (bring carrots) or explore the area. Highly recommend. The camping site were great too by the look of it.

We had a wonderful stay at Jilla Flash Camp and highly recommend it. The tents were comfortable and clean, and although we initially thought there might be mould, Bill kindly reassured us they were just gumtree stains. We had originally booked two tents due to capacity, but Phil went out of his way to adjust our booking so the kids could stay together, which we really appreciated. The camp kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed, and the beds were cozy and restful. The highlights of our stay were spending time by the creek and gathering around the firepit—both made the experience truly memorable. Overall, a very pleasant and enjoyable stay!

What an incredible escape! Aurora-Exclusive delivered everything we hoped for and more. Our host was genuinely welcoming and made the check-in process seamless - you can tell they truly care about creating a memorable experience for their guests. The privacy here is unmatched. It felt like having our own private slice of the Blue Mountains—no direct neighbours, no noise, just surrounded by stunning bushland and those breathtaking escarpment views. The hut is wonderful - thoughtfully designed and perfectly positioned to make the most of the scenery. It provided the perfect base for our adventure while still feeling connected to nature. The highlight of each evening was gathering around the campfire under the star-filled sky. There's something magical about sitting by the crackling flames with wombats and kangaroos wandering nearby - it's the kind of authentic Australian bush experience you dream about. It was amazing that we were allowed to bring our dog! It made this trip complete.

This was a great set up for our young family with new, clean shower and bathroom facilities. I imagine if it's fully booked the kitchen facilities would be stretched. And while the shower was lovely and hot, the kitchen water wasn't. I'd love to come back and hang out by the amazing fire pit, but with just the three of us it seemed a little overkill. The setting was grassy with plenty of shady trees. My young sons and I had a great time exploring the riverside, balancing on huge fallen trees and losing shoes in the quicksand. And the mini soccer field and slackline / climbing area were a bonus. Description and directions were spot on, and the host is kindly facilitating returning something we left behind. I'd recommend a visit for sure.

If Australia had a Yellowstone it'd be in Glen Alice. It was so nice waking up to rocky cliff faces in this beautiful valley. So comfy in the tiny home which have absolutely everything you'll need during your stay. Jacob was a great host, telling us all about the local spots and even offering to drive us up to the viewpoint nearby. We got a special morning welcome from the farm's head of cattle management, a little Kelpie called Rabit, and spent the morning checking out the swimming hole and coming back to a warm spa on the deck out the front of our cabin. Such a peaceful retreat, amazing views especially as the sun rises and sets and beautiful starry skies if you're lucky enough to get a clear night. Light a fire and hop in the fire-heated outdoor bath for an extra treat! We got the best mix of rest in nature and adventure.

Where to go

Blue Mountains

East of Lithgow, the misty peaks of the Blue Mountains National Park are cloaked in UNESCO-listed rainforest. Campers can hike through the jungle, soar over canyons on the Scenic Railway or cable car, and marvel at natural wonders such as the Three Sisters and Wentworth Falls. Venture off-road in a 4WD to explore the southern mountains, camp out in the bush, or visit the Jenolan Caves.

NSW Tablelands

Less than an hour’s drive west of Lithgow, the former gold rush town of Bathurst is the gateway to the Central Tablelands. Give yourself time to discover the region’s 19th-century villages, try gold panning along the creeks, and take in the views along the famous Mount Panorama Circuit. Camping options range from family-friendly holiday parks to farmstays on a working farm.

Lower Hunter Valley

North of Lithgow, the sweeping gorges and dense bushlands of the Wolgan Valley and Capertee National Park provide dramatic terrain for rock climbing, mountain biking, and 4WD excursions. To the east, glowworm caves, kayaking tours, and bush camping are among the many highlights of the Wollemi National Park.

When to go

Outdoor activities are possible year-round in Lithgow, as long as you dress for the seasons—winter campers should prepare for some frosty nights. Summer (December through February) is peak season, but there are plenty of places to escape the crowds in the surrounding national parks. Seasonal events draw large crowds to the town too, most notably the Halloween Street Festival, Ironfest (April), and the LithGlow light show (May).

Know before you go

Lithgow has bus and train links to Sydney, but having your own transport is useful for exploring the national parks.

Lithgow has a good selection of shops, where you can pick up camping gear and stock up on supplies before heading out into the Blue Mountains.
Fire bans are common in New South Wales during summer and dry periods, so check local recommendations before lighting up.
A permit is required to camp within NSW’s national parks, and campsites must be booked in advance.
