We had a fantastic 3 nights at Riverside Farmstay. The property is lovely and peaceful right next to the river with access to power and water, clean toilets, pool and private jetty. The camp Kitchen is an awesome space with wood fired pizza oven and large indoor bar area and pool table. Our boys had the best time feeding the animals each morning, playing on the flying fox and hanging out with Jeff and Lou’s grandkids. Having been on the road for a year now, the stand out places to stay for us are those with the personal touch where we are made to feel welcome and at home and this is one of those unique places. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend

Excellent hosts, Wayne and his brother were very welcoming and friendly and would come over for a chat and a check in most days, told us what to do in the area and what local events were on. Good sight with a hot shower, toilets and a washing machine. Their marmalade is also a must try.

Beautiful drive in to property and lovely location with good amenities. Creek was easy to access and great to swim in. Close proximity to Port Macquarie. We had a lot of rain and were flooded in for half a day, which made the site a little slippery to get out of. Rick and Cheryl were extremely helpful and accomodating though!

Weekend Trip to The Hatch Farm - Port Macquarie

Absolutely beautiful place, the kids had an absolute ball on the canoes and with all the animals. Will definitely be back again we camp a lot and this is our family’s favourite place so far. Susan and Bernard are such lovely hosts. I felt so safe with our young kids here. Usually I worry about them on campsites but it was so nice to relax and have them just enjoy this special place.

What a great spot on the Manning! Awesome campsite by the river to setup our tent and rooftop tent. We had a great time exploring the river by day and watching the stars by the fire at night whilst listening to the water and wildlife. Only regret is that we didn't stay longer! 3 nights at Oxley Riverside Campsites

We had a fabulous few days at Oxley Riverside camp. Huge sites and Bruce offered an upgrade to site 1 as he had had a cancellation. Lovely shady site by the river. River was very fast flowing because of all the rain but we still went in for a refreshing dip. Great access. Made friends with the neighbours donkeys. Close enough to “town” if you feel like a beer at the pub or pick up extra supplies. Compost toilets not too far and kept nice and clean. All in all a cracking campsite. Thanks Bruce!

Excellent campsite right on the river, and great amenities (hot showers and clean toilets, kayaks, petting/baby animal farm + larger farm animals), very helpful and friendly hosts. Massive campsites suitable for 2-3 groups. Two gorgeous and very friendly farm border collies. Great fishing from the riverbank or in the kayaks. Short drive into Port Macquarie if needed. We'll definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Diamond Park Campsite

The camping at Catherine’s site was amazing! Both her and John were super accommodating and helpful with locating the site and managing the wet weather. The facilities were extremely clean (including the compost toilet) and added a level of luxury to the tent camping experience. We got to feed the sheep and deer as well as meet newly born twin lambs. Overall the site is very well maintained, easy to find, great location and super hosts. Would highly recommend!

Paul & Alex’s campground at Racecourse was beautiful and quiet. We stayed over Anzac weekend when the weather was pretty wet. Would recommend when you stay to check the forecast. If it’s been wet or heavy rain forecast, mozzies are a nightmare however there seemed to be far fewer up the top level closer to the road than down the bottom area. Happy camping!

This is a stunning area. The camping spots were beautiful and easy to get to. You don't have to drive very far in from the road, yet they are peaceful and quiet. Being able to launch the canoe straight into the river was great and Annie and Peter were warm and welcoming and made sure we were enjoying our stay. The campfire and wood were appreciated. We'll definitely be back.

Little Plain Hall Grounds

Little Plain Hall grounds - a small rural hall and grounds celebrating their 100th year in 2023 and adjacent to the Ellenborough River with a number of bush campsites available. (If you are after more than a nice piece of grass and a flushing toilet then this property maybe isn't for you!) All sites are reached via dirt tracks that can be rough and slippery. Sites 1 and 2 are adjacent to each other behind the hall and closest to the toilet and the most accessible-more suited to caravans and those without 4 wheel drives. Sites 3, 4 and 5 are adjacent to each other on the banks of the river. Site 6 is separate from the others on the bank of Little Plain Creek but furthest from the toilet. PLEASE NOTE: Access to the river at sites 3, 4 and 5 - the banks are steep and though we have a narrow track down it is slippery. There is access to the river at other spots on the property. This open grassed area of 6 acres is 5 kms further on from the Ellenborough Falls turnoff. (We are not near Ellenborough village but in Elands- this is a somewhat common error when people look us up.) We are a community-run non-profit facility available to campers. All funds raised are used to improve the grounds and hall. Directions to find us: From the South -off the Pacific highway at Taree through Wingham, Follow the Brown tourist signs to Ellenborough Falls. We are approx. 5 kms from the falls turnoff. From the north- Off the Pacific Highway: Again the brown tourist signs will get you to Ellenborough Falls Port Macquarie end through Comboyne-either way requires access over narrow, dirt roads. From the Falls turnoff: continue straight ahead on Glenwarrin Road (don't turn into the falls). You will cross over 2 bridges. After the 2nd bridge, the grounds are on your right at the top of the small hill. 542 Glenwarrin Road Elands. Larger rigs are not advised. One toilet available and limited tank water - please BYO water and be water wise with the tank water at the hall. Well behaved pets are welcome. Hall available for hire - please send an enquiry. The Abundance Nursery and Cafe with it's splendid lily pond view is a great spot to enjoy a meal or a coffee and only 3 kms back along Rawdon Island road. The pretty country town of Wauchope is only a 12 minute drive and is home to Timbertown, a theme park boasting steam train rides and a glimpse of the timber getting industry of a bygone era. Drop into the Vibe Coffee House, pick up "the best" coffee and a sensational meal before perusing the many treasures of Wauchope's specialty shops. A day trip to the Comboyne plateu is a rewarding experience and enhanced by enjoying a meal at the magnificant Byabarra Cafe on your way through. Whilst the meals equall those of any capital city restaurant, the view of the valley will take your breath away. And then; there's Port Macquarie (20 mins) and sorrounds! one of the most scenic and attraction packed areas of Australia's eastern seaboard. If you are into birds you will see plenty here - in the last 12 months we have counted nearly 100 different species on our property!

The property where camping is provided is approx 20 acres with a limit of 10 groups so you can find your own little piece of paradise. There is plenty of fire wood for you to collect on the property on your way in. Please help yourself to any fallen timber for firewood but please do not cut any standing trees down. When checking out, ensure you properly extinguish fires and return any unused firewood to the bush. Dogs are welcome to be here off leash as long as they are well socialised and reasonably obedient. There is large areas for them to run freely and dams to swim in. It is accessible via a 2WD dirt road, even with a little wet weather. If rainfall is extreme we recommend 4wd's. The property is completely off grid so we have a 'leave it as you found it' approach. This means you will need a camp toilet, and to take all of your rubbish with you. We are a rural property so do not have rubbish collection services. (Fees apply for any left behind rubbish). Happy camping!

The river is a perfect spot to swim, kayak or fish with plenty of wildlife around to see, river shoes are advised for your comfort. The river can sometimes be swollen and fast flowing. Please watch children at all times. Camping fires are only allowed outside of fire restrictions. Fires must be in a proper container / bucket. Please leave site clear. If you forage for wood please clear site of whats left before leaving This property is pet friendly though we do ask that owners leash and clean up after their fur babies. Dump points are located at Wauchope and Port Macquarie. We ask that all rubbish is taken with you upon leaving. Please be mindful that we do have neighbours and we ask that you be respectful and keep all noise to a minimum after 11pm and before 6am.
