We looked for alternative ways of living 6 years ago so we purchased 220 acres to build an off grid camping/eco resort. The property consists of a straw bale house, Tipis, Cottages, 5 stars shared facilities (hot showers, flushing toilets - disable toilet ), outdoor kitchen (gas bbq, pizza oven, all kitchen utensils, pots ), solar system and worm farm septic system. The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home. Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.) Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property. They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties. Our 200-acre property offers two different accommodations. Kookawood, the main farmhouse, is a unique country house with stunning mountain views. Wattle Views is a tiny house with all the comforts of home. Each is priced seperately or you can book both if you request them seperately. Only 1.5 – 2 hours' drive from Sydney CBD, peace and quiet are assured. Surrounded by gum trees, wildlife, and picturesque scenery, the property is a tranquil retreat. It’s a 15 to 20-minute drive to the town, shops, and cafés. Access is via an unsealed road, so it is not suitable for low-profile, high-performance cars or those who do not wish to take their cars off bitumen. However, it is totally fine for a normal car. Enjoy fishing, swimming, and water sports at nearby Lake Lyell. Experience wildlife at your doorstep, including kangaroos, wombats, echidnas, and an abundance of birds. Visit Jenolan Caves or the Glow Worm Tunnel, and explore Blue Mountains tourist attractions. Horse riding is only a 35-40 minute drive away. We are pet-friendly One large friendly dog or up to 2 medium or small dogs with prior permission with a secure, fully fenced large garden and great walks on the property. Well-behaved dogs are welcome and must be mentioned on inquiry some conditions apply - pets not permitted on bedding or couches must be on a lead when near farm animals and is not allowed to chase wildlife If your dog sheds we ask you use the vacuume to remove pet hair from carpets Dogs must not be left alone in the house or yard unattended Noisy barking dogs are not permitted House-trained pets are welcome inside. there is a fenced rear yard but the rest of property is not fenced . A pet minding service is available through Wagtopia. Contact Rita at 0403 918 667. The overnight rate is $55, or the day rate is $40. Pick-up and drop-off services are available.

Our property is approximately 150 acres, located in the Upper Hunter Valley between the Goulburn River National Park and the Wollemi National Park. In the shadow of Mt Dangar, our land sweeps down to the pristine Goulburn River, one of the main tributaries of the Hunter River. The property was once part of a huge agricultural station, that was established not long after explorers started to open up the interior to development in colonial times. We raise cattle and have an olive grove, which we planted in 2001 (our olive brand is Windybank Olives). In 2003 we established The Old Dairy accommodation, by renovating the crumbling 1940's dairy shed at the top of the property. There are stunning views of the surrounding countryside in all directions from The Old Dairy. It is a place to unwind, relax, reset. Guests have loved the peace & quiet we offer, the chance to get away from everything for a short while. Our road is just off Bylong Valley Way - a visually stunning route through the national parks towards Mudgee, Rylstone, Capertee Valley, Lithgow and the Greater Blue Mountains, tracking along the headwaters of the Goulburn River. One of the most beautiful drives in New South Wales and within close proximity of terrific campsites like Ganguddy (Dunn's Swamp via Rylstone) and Big River (Gouburn River National Park). Plenty of birds & wildlife (kangaroos make a very regular appearance - as do healthy green tree frogs!). A beautiful part of the world.
