Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba.

We had a great camping trip for 2 nights. Fire pit was great, enjoyed the kayaks, and even ventured down to the aqua pools despite the 36-degree heat! It was well worth the trek. Hope to be back soon!

There is now a lot more room to manoeuvre a camper van or caravan

Lovely campsite just an hour from Sydney — perfect for a quick getaway and a chance to reconnect with nature. Communication with the host was super easy, and access to the site was seamless. We even arrived to find an envelope with our name pegged at the gate, which was such a thoughtful touch.

Weekend Trip to Canoelands Orchard Camping

Lovely little spot overlooking a small dam full of water lilies, ducks and an amazing chorus of frogs. Blessed with dappled shade in both the morning and afternoon. It was windy so I camped off to the side so we wouldn't be directly underneath the big gums. Note there is a road on the other side of the dam so you do see and hear utes fanging along, but not loud enough to wake us. My little guy had a great time feeding the animals, and we loved being able to pick fruit and eat it straight off the bushes. It's also great having the shop and cafe for some creature comforts. Jaime was friendly and helpful too :)

Very large site for cars, tents people and pets. View out to southern part of the escarpment. Very well protected, shaded and cool.

Weekend Trip to Misty Mountain Farm - Farm Stay

Great location. Only a short drive to Seven Mile Beach, Shoalhaven Haven Heads, Gerroa, Gerringong and Kiama. A spacious paddock to pull up. Could feel busy if all sites were full, but we had only two others near us on night one, and the place to ourselves on night two. Great star gazing at night, and the fire pits were a nice touch.

We had the best stay. Loved picking and eating nectarines fresh off the trees, feeding the animals in the morning, the tractor ride, the play area for the kids and being able to enjoy our iced coffees. The only downside is how far the toilets are from the camp site, but even that was okay. Camp Site 8 was surrounded by other campsites, but the sites are all spacioius, so it didnt feel crowded. The hosts were absolutely lovely!

Jaime and Nathan are honestly some of the nicest people you’ll meet. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel right at home. The campsite itself is awesome—huge spaces for tents and plenty of room for the kids to roam. The café has seriously good coffee (a lifesaver for parents!), and everyone we met was so helpful and friendly. The kids loved the tractor ride and meeting the farm animals—it’s the kind of simple joy that makes camping special. There’s even a sandpit where the kids played for two hours (which gave me a chance to doze off :) ). They said they wanted to stay there forever!

The rates are reasonable and the sites are wide. Firepits, shower and toilets available. There is a cafe open during our stay plus fruits that we can freely pick and eat (just be reasonable in the amount you take) there are friendly farm animals that you can join in feeding them in the morning. Great for families and friends looking for something fun, close to Sydney activities. Only downside is if it is hot, there isn’t any shade so prepare your own shelter, and only 1 shower is available.

Amazing weekend camping with three families. Plenty of space in the paddock for the kids to run around. Leanne was wonderful. Fantastic host. Kids loved watching the animals, and going for a walk around the property. Ground is quite hard the moment so a hammer was useful when getting pegs in!
