We are a farm forestry property located in the middle of the north shore of Port Stephens. Two hours north of Hornsby. 1 hour north of Newcastle. 2 mins to Pindimar beach, 9 minutes to Coles and bottle shop, 11 minutes to surf beach Bennett Beach 12 minutes to Jimmy's Beach. Pets are welcome please pick up after them. Unfortunately, due to a recent incident. All dogs from now on must be on a leash at all times. The dangerous dog in question bit 4 people in less than 24 hours. Including my husband twice. You know your dog, But you cannot predict what another campers's dog is going to be like. Any dog on the NSW dangerous dogs list is absolutely not welcome here. Free use of fire pits and free firewoods. You will need to be split the logs yourself. axes and wheelbarrows are supplied. Hot showers and decent toilets, Good mobile phone signal. Two Communal Fridges .There is lots of space for campers. We have two sites with shade, four without. We suggest you bring a decent quality gazebo or equivalent. If you choose a non-shady site and then it's sunny, it is beyond our control. We are located on a dead end road, so very rare to have any traffic after 8pm. PLEASE NOTE: 1) We ONLY ALLOW ONE camper trailer or ONE caravan per site. No limit on number of tents. 2) IF You Have more than 3 vehicles/site please contact host before booking. 3) Depending on the weather on the day, we may have to limit the number of vehicles that can be parked adjacent to your campsite. 4) NO late night check in . If you are a group larger than two people, the check in time is between midday and sunset. Do not arrive after sunset. If in doubt call. 5) As the business name suggests (mountain) our property is on a hill. we are creating more level campsites. This year the weather has been terrible. From record rain to drought conditions in 3 months. Because of the earthworks there has been a bit of dust, which we have tried to control with grass seed and then no rain.... once each section of earthworks is done. Shade trees are being planted. But they are slow to grow. 6) Please check weather report a minimum of 7 days before you arrive and CANCEL your booking if you are not sure. 7) We cannot control the wind, the sun, rain, or lack of rain.

Strawberry's paddock is located towards the rear of the property, offering a comfortable spot for those with kids, with easy access to the amenities. Merrylegs's Paddock is the perfect spot for couples and smaller or larger groups. Merrylegs's is located towards the front of the property, and offers sites for up to 4 guests per site. Enjoy lovely grassed areas with ample shade for your camper-van, roof top tent, free standing tent or swag. We have seven (7) acres of fully fenced grassy paddocks, with mostly shaded open areas. We have a 2 night minimum and a 5 night maximum stay at both listings. We're located very close to Blueys Beach where you can stroll along the shore, go for a swim or help the kids build sandcastles. It’s a flat walk from your campsite, only minutes away along the footpath (approximately 350 metres) to local restaurants, cafes and shops. Those visiting with their furry family member can enjoy the nearest dog friendly beach within council regulated hours just a further 150 down the path. You can enjoy access to flushable toilets x 2 and a singular hot shower and a singular cold shower for those after the beach days, please BYO toiletries. We ask that you place all of your rubbish in the bins provided .. we can take your recyclable cans and bottles for the Earn and Return program. To clarify .. YES we have a garbage bin for general waste only .. no recycling bin. We allow campfires when it is safe. ALL fires must be contained in a fire pit. Absolutely no fires are to be lit on the open grass. WE have fire pits for hire and bagged firewood is available for purchase on site .. all fire pits brought onto the property for use by guests will be subject to the discretion of the property owners. All fires and fire pits must be "OK'd" with the property owners prior to lighting, what we're looking for is clearance from the ground to the base of the fire pit .. the greater distance the better. Fires can only be lit in accordance with NSW Rural Fire Services fire restrictions or total fire bans. We've had multiple patches of our buffalo lawn scorched to beyond charcoal by careless guests .. you must ask the hosts / property owners before lighting any fires .. unnecessary burnt patches of lawn may result in you and your guests leaving!! We ask you to please note: ** UNFORTUNATELY WE DO NOT TAKE ANY CARAVANS .. HYBRID CARAVANS .. MOTOR HOMES .. RV'S .. FIFTH WHEELER's .. BUSES INCLUDING MERCEDES SPRINTERS of any size .. mainly the footprint of these types of vehicles is far too great .. once again we're only a grassy paddock not a caravan park. Standard size camper trailers and camper-vans, roof top tents are all completely fine. If your bus is longer than 4 meters in length, over 2 meters in height and/ or width with a tare weight of 3 tonne or over SORRY BUT IT IS A NO!! If your camper trailer is wider than 2.5 meters or longer than 4.5 metres in length inclusive of the drawbar .. SORRY BUT ITS A NO!! If you have a Jayco of any description .. regardless of length / width OR what the "registration papers say" .. SORRY BUT IT IS STILL A NO!! - If you have solar panels to charge you might have to chase the sun a little, as there are plenty of shaded areas which is perfect come summer. We do not allow the use of "Slackline or Tightropes" strung between our trees, it causes them to be ringbarked after a prolonged use .. meaning they die in the long run .. rope clotheslines and hamocks perfectly ok on the palms, sheoaks and paperbarks!! - Dogs are permitted here however they must be friendly off leash and must NOT chase my pets which include horses, goats , dogs and our pet chooks. Please pick up after your pooch .. as a courtesy to other guests and also to us, it doesn't happen in a caravan park .. please do the right thing here!! PLEASE ADVISE US UPON BOOKING IF YOU ARE BRINGING A PET/PETS!! - There are animals that live here and they occasionally make animal noises. Specifically, we have a pet Rooster called Billy .. he is meticulous at his job of being a rooster and can start very early in the morning 4am We ask you to please be understanding during your visit, that this is Billy's home and we ask you to PLEASE RETHINK YOUR BOOKING if you feel this might impact on your holiday or your guests holiday. On arrival, we ask that you stop at the garages at the front of the house to confirm your check-in and get instructions .. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE PROPERTY, prior to letting us know you have arrived. NO ARRIVALS AFTER 10PM .. during peak periods it impacts greatly on our other onsite guests, we've had too many complications in the past, appologies it simply it doesn't work. When we have heavy rain, some areas of the property are not car accessible and you may need to walk to some amenities. and keep driving to a minimum. We are offering 6 beautiful, partly shaded, camping sites along the pristine Upper Karuah River. All sites are separated for privacy and are all right on the edge of the river. There are plenty of opportunities for bird watching, hiking, swimming, kayaking, fishing (in summer), star gazing or just relaxing. NOT SUITABLE FOR VANS OVER 18ft. 65 acres of pristine forest excites the senses with its diversity of environments; meandering creek tributaries, a huge natural billabong, rich array of birdlife & wildlife. The property’s rainforest walk leads you through a subtropical tree forest by the banks of Duck creek, past the 'Dingo' large sculpture then to the ultimate viewing of the gigantic ancient trees that are 300 years old The property is close to 4 beaches - Blueys, Boomerang, Elizabeth ; Cellito/Sandbar ( 3 of those beaches are dog friendly and Sandbar even allows Horse riding as well as 4WD). The property borders the southern boundary of the Wallingat National Park - which offers days and days of adventures and has the best look-out over the whole coastal region called the Whoota Whoota lookout. Wallis Lake is literally across the road from the front gate and can be accessed by boat launch just up the Coomba road or at the Pacific Palms recreational club ( Recky) which is a short 5 minutes down the road. Smiths Lake is only 5 minutes drive away in the other direction and has catamaran and boat hire services close to the Frothy Coffee Cafe, SeaForest Sanctuary sites are 4WD and AWD due to the tracks- some 2WD as long as they have a high ground clearance; depending if we have dry weather. ( I have a small 2WD SUV and it gets around perfectly in the dry weather but I need the 4WD in the wet ). No amenities so campers need to BYO everything they need and leave no trace. Campers MUST bring their own camping toilet... This property is a wildlife/bush sanctuary and thus everyone is asked to please do their part to keeping it that way. The waterways and forests in this area are mind blowing. If you have the opportunity, hire a boat/ houseboat or kayak etc and explore the Myall, Smiths and Wallis Lakes.. Bushwalking trails are everywhere through the many National Parks that surround us here. The property is Dog friendly and owners must be respectful of others and keep animals quiet and contained at night. Goes without saying - please clean up doggie dung and take with your rubbish. Campfires are permitted in a designated area when restrictions aren't in place, plenty of wood to gather your own. Please be mindful that there could be fire bans on certain days during the summer. Farm manager will keep you informed and if the worst scenario happens being a fire warning of catastrophic conditions, please follow the farm managers instructions to evacuate the premises and enjoy some shopping in Forster or go to the movies for the day until the warning has lifted.

Premium and exclusive natural camping at its best. Our farm is located on the beautiful Karuah River in the picturesque Monkerai valley. The river is a fresh mountain river running from the foothills of Barrington Tops. We only offer 5 sites across our 300 acre property giving you absolute privacy and a sense of serenity We were very pleased to have been recognised by Hipcamp as being one of the top 20 Hipcamp locations in NSW for 2022. Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming canoeing floating on airbeds fishing photography or just enjoying. There is also some really nice bike riding and walking opportunities around the valley although you will be on gravel roads and we are only 25 min drive from the popular Dungog mountain bike park. You are likely to see a variety of birdlife other wildlife including black and white cockatoos ducks some lizards, occasionally wallabies, echidnas and if you are lucky a Platypus or two. We are fortunate to see platypus in the river frequently which is a sign of just how pristine the water running down from the mountains really is. You will have your campsite completely to yourself with no other camper near you. Privacy, tranquillity, relaxation and just enjoying nature is waiting for you. Be sure to bring your telescope as you’ll be amazed at the stargazing at night with no light pollution. With some lovely Spring rain the river is running beautifully and is great for a swim, fish or canoe. Swimming, canoeing and running the rapids on surf mats is always popular at our property and as long as the river is it normal levels and a lot of fun. However, we always highly recommend people wear some form of footwear in the river such as rafting sandals or old joggers or similar as the rocks are very hard on your feet and there’s a particular nasty little fish called a “Bullrout” that whilst rare can infect a nasty sting if you tread on one. No need to be overly concerned but be mindful. Our property is ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. There are no toilets so only suitable if you have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste when you leave. All toilet waste, leaving our property is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. Public waste dump points are at Stroud, Dungog and Gloucester. Gloucester Dungog and historic Stroud village are nearby as well as Barrington Tops World Heritage wilderness area and national park. This is an operating farm and therefore farming activities such as cattle droving, fencing, grass cutting or hay making may occasionally be occurring somewhere near your site but we would always let you know. We are sure you will enjoy our farm far more than a crowded traditional caravan park or campgrounds. We do have some limited bags of firewood for sale at $20 a bag most of the year. These are heavy bags of very dry local Hardwood. You can also collect firewood along the riverbanks yourself or bring your own firewood for a campfire (subject to any fire restrictions) if that is easier and more convenient for you. When you make a reservation at the property we will always endeavour to put you in your preferred location as best we can. However if we are impacted by adverse weather or need to run cattle on certain parts of the farm then we may need to make a change to the actual site you are in and trust you understand. We are a farm forestry property located in the middle of the north shore of Port Stephens. Any dog on the NSW dangerous dogs list is absolutely not welcome here. Free use of fire pits and free firewoods. You will need to be split the logs yourself. axes and wheelbarrows are supplied. Hot showers and decent toilets, Good mobile phone signal. Two Communal Fridges .There is lots of space for campers. We have two sites with shade, four without. We suggest you bring a decent quality gazebo or equivalent. If you choose a non-shady site and then it's sunny, it is beyond our control. We are located on a dead end road, so very rare to have any traffic after 8pm. PLEASE NOTE: 1) We ONLY ALLOW ONE camper trailer or ONE caravan per site. It’s a flat walk from your campsite, only minutes away along the footpath (approximately 350 metres) to local restaurants, cafes and shops. Those visiting with their furry family member can enjoy the nearest dog friendly beach within council regulated hours just a further 150 down the path. You can enjoy access to flushable toilets x 2 and a singular hot shower and a singular cold shower for those after the beach days, please BYO toiletries. We ask that you place all of your rubbish in the bins provided .. we can take your recyclable cans and bottles for the Earn and Return program. To clarify .. YES we have a garbage bin for general waste only .. no recycling bin. We allow campfires when it is safe. ALL fires must be contained in a fire pit. Absolutely no fires are to be lit on the open grass. WE have fire pits for hire and bagged firewood is available for purchase on site .. all fire pits brought onto the property for use by guests will be subject to the discretion of the property owners. All fires and fire pits must be "OK'd" with the property owners prior to lighting, what we're looking for is clearance from the ground to the base of the fire pit .. the greater distance the better. Fires can only be lit in accordance with NSW Rural Fire Services fire restrictions or total fire bans. We've had multiple patches of our buffalo lawn scorched to beyond charcoal by careless guests .. you must ask the hosts / property owners before lighting any fires .. unnecessary burnt patches of lawn may result in you and your guests leaving!! We ask you to please note: ** UNFORTUNATELY WE DO NOT TAKE ANY CARAVANS .. HYBRID CARAVANS .. MOTOR HOMES .. RV'S .. FIFTH WHEELER's .. We do not allow the use of "Slackline or Tightropes" strung between our trees, it causes them to be ringbarked after a prolonged use .. meaning they die in the long run .. rope clotheslines and hamocks perfectly ok on the palms, sheoaks and paperbarks!! - Dogs are permitted here however they must be friendly off leash and must NOT chase my pets which include horses, goats , dogs and our pet chooks. Please pick up after your pooch .. as a courtesy to other guests and also to us, it doesn't happen in a caravan park .. please do the right thing here!! Wallis Lake is literally across the road from the front gate and can be accessed by boat launch just up the Coomba road or at the Pacific Palms recreational club ( Recky) which is a short 5 minutes down the road. Smiths Lake is only 5 minutes drive away in the other direction and has catamaran and boat hire services close to the Frothy Coffee Cafe, SeaForest Sanctuary sites are 4WD and AWD due to the tracks- some 2WD as long as they have a high ground clearance; depending if we have dry weather. ( I have a small 2WD SUV and it gets around perfectly in the dry weather but I need the 4WD in the wet ). No amenities so campers need to BYO everything they need and leave no trace. Campers MUST bring their own camping toilet... This property is a wildlife/bush sanctuary and thus everyone is asked to please do their part to keeping it that way. The waterways and forests in this area are mind blowing. If you have the opportunity, hire a boat/ houseboat or kayak etc and explore the Myall, Smiths and Wallis Lakes.. Bushwalking trails are everywhere through the many National Parks that surround us here. The property is Dog friendly and owners must be respectful of others and keep animals quiet and contained at night. Goes without saying - please clean up doggie dung and take with your rubbish. Sit, relax, and enjoy the magnificent views or utilise the surrounding forests, beaches, lakes, farmers markets, and local winery. You'll be camping with a herd of horses who do visit camping sites. There's also the Pet pig "Barney Rubble" and ponies / ducks/ chickens/ talking parrot to entertain little people. Firewood can be purchased when you arrive for CASH for $20 per load and must be collected from the house upon arrival. Eggs also are available - $8 CASH on arrival. Lemons are free. We limit bookings for your privacy. It is a hilly property so you need adequate power and 4WD to access the higher sites, particularly if towing. 4WD are most suitable for this property. Message before booking about access, particularly after rain, if you don't have a 4WD/off-road van. Dogs are welcome and are fine to be off-lead provided they don't chase horses and are friendly. Premium and exclusive natural camping at its best. Our farm is located on the beautiful Karuah River in the picturesque Monkerai valley. The river is a fresh mountain river running from the foothills of Barrington Tops. We only offer 5 sites across our 300 acre property giving you absolute privacy and a sense of serenity We were very pleased to have been recognised by Hipcamp as being one of the top 20 Hipcamp locations in NSW for 2022. Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming canoeing floating on airbeds fishing photography or just enjoying. There is also some really nice bike riding and walking opportunities around the valley although you will be on gravel roads and we are only 25 min drive from the popular Dungog mountain bike park. You are likely to see a variety of birdlife other wildlife including black and white cockatoos ducks some lizards, occasionally wallabies, echidnas and if you are lucky a Platypus or two. We are fortunate to see platypus in the river frequently which is a sign of just how pristine the water running down from the mountains really is. You will have your campsite completely to yourself with no other camper near you. Privacy, tranquillity, relaxation and just enjoying nature is waiting for you. Be sure to bring your telescope as you’ll be amazed at the stargazing at night with no light pollution. With some lovely Spring rain the river is running beautifully and is great for a swim, fish or canoe. Swimming, canoeing and running the rapids on surf mats is always popular at our property and as long as the river is it normal levels and a lot of fun. However, we always highly recommend people wear some form of footwear in the river such as rafting sandals or old joggers or similar as the rocks are very hard on your feet and there’s a particular nasty little fish called a “Bullrout” that whilst rare can infect a nasty sting if you tread on one. No need to be overly concerned but be mindful. Our property is ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. There are no toilets so only suitable if you have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste when you leave. All toilet waste, leaving our property is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. Public waste dump points are at Stroud, Dungog and Gloucester. Gloucester Dungog and historic Stroud village are nearby as well as Barrington Tops World Heritage wilderness area and national park. This is an operating farm and therefore farming activities such as cattle droving, fencing, grass cutting or hay making may occasionally be occurring somewhere near your site but we would always let you know. We are sure you will enjoy our farm far more than a crowded traditional caravan park or campgrounds. We do have some limited bags of firewood for sale at $20 a bag most of the year. These are heavy bags of very dry local Hardwood. You can also collect firewood along the riverbanks yourself or bring your own firewood for a campfire (subject to any fire restrictions) if that is easier and more convenient for you. When you make a reservation at the property we will always endeavour to put you in your preferred location as best we can. However if we are impacted by adverse weather or need to run cattle on certain parts of the farm then we may need to make a change to the actual site you are in and trust you understand. We loved our time at kindred acres. Kellie and Rod were such great hosts so welcoming making sure that we had everything when we got there and when we were leaving. There was a fire ban and we had booked a firepit but because we couldn’t use that Kellie gave us a carton of eggs so thoughtful. The outdoor shower was so fab and the communal area was beautiful too. Ruby was a lovely addition as well. We were only there for one night, but wish we were there longer. We will definitely be back! So beautiful!!!

Weekend Trip to Fame Mountain Camp - pets welcome
We enjoyed our stay at Fame Mountain! The directions to the camp was crystal clear, and we had no problrem driving around the camp with a 2WD. The camp ameneties was great like communal fridges and plenty of toilets and hot/cold showers! They were clean too! The view of the mountains was beautiful during sunset.

Weekend Trip to Willowbank
Our second visit to Willowbank and it was just as beautiful as the first time. Owners Jo and Ian are lovely people. We and our friends shared Paperbarks site with our two caravans. Fantastic extremely large and private site with open grass area and lots of shade by the river. We spent the weekend in the river with the kids floating around on our inflatables. Only ankle to waist deep. Cows and horse came to visit and say hello on our second morning. Highly recommend for a fantastic off grid camp. There is public toilets down the street (3min drive), and the quaint town of Stroud is only 10 minutes with an IGA, cafes and beautiful 2nd hand/ local craft stores.

Mei was a great host - took extra care allocating us a shaded spot as we had a 9m old baby and 5 dogs with us and caring about our wherabouts during the bushfires to ensure we still made it to her site safely. We had an amazing time staying at Mei’s! The area is quiet and remote and the views are amazing! We arrived a day late due to flight cancellations and Mei offered us an extra night for free which was very kind. She was very accommodating and made everything very clear for us. Shower and toilet facilities are great and showers were nice and warm. Fridges are very useful for storing food and freezers had ice lollies for guests which was a nice touch! Would 100% recommend staying here. Thanks Mei!

While others are seeking space, nature, a river side camping spot, a mountain bike focused holiday with the fam, or a cheap group stay right on the river. And others just simply LOVE this area and come back each year, and bring their dog! Guudji Yiigu Nyiirunang - Birpi for Welcome Everyone! while ... Teretulemast is an Estonian name, it means WELCOME. THE HISTORY OF OUR PLACE as we know it: The Biripi people were the original and will always be the landowners of this area. They spent their summers on the mountain, while their winters were beside the coast. We are told, this area was once a women's only area, where they would bath and give birth. We respect those past and present who took care of this land and lived amongst it. This is Biripi country. Sometime after this, some people took over the land, and then offered it to others. Then cut trees down to build with, and put cows on it for over 80 years.. then we were offered it! And here we are today.... US: We LOVE hosting people, as we literally LOVE sharing this place with others. It’s part of who we are, but also a huge part of our bigger picture, in getting people re connected with Nature, so much so, that they want to protect it. Plus it’s so damn pretty here, all year around! You Camp/Hipcamp has been a driving force as to why we have had so many guests find us, and ultimately stay with us (along with some help from our insta #teretulemastelands blogs & workaway/helpx). But if you are wondering why people would visit, I'll do my best to summarise: • 400 metre walk from our RIVER flat to the famous Ellenborough Falls (famous for being the longest consistent drop in the southern hemisphere - hows that for on the map?) • All sites have access to the river with a short walk, or a tiny walk. Most are sitting on the famous Ellenborough River. • The Penthouse spot of sites is our River Flat. With it's hot shower, 2 composting toilets (still fully off grid), outdoor bbq/kitchen, gas & combustion stove & bar in shed (with solar lighting & fridge). PLUS A MTB PUMP TRACK! ALL PART of what you get when you book it! • The Ellenborough river is gorgeous & fresh, so paddling, floating, swimming, drinking and generally lounging around in it, is welcomed! And the locals often hang out together at the falls (where there are even deeper water holes) and the local made famous The Rapids (8 min drive away). *we will show you once you get here! bYO drinks and floaties! • ALL sites can accommodate reasonably large groups, SERENITY and RIVER FLAT can cater to around 100 OR more if you wanted them to. 2 composting toilets on these sites. (so toilets will be the main limiting factor for a super large group). • We book out each site ‘exclusively’, so only you, your mates and family will be sleeping next to each other. Which is why we have a min rate, versus a per person rate. And why most sites include from 8 people up to 15 people within their min rate. Pretty awesome deal when you divide by that! • Many sites are 4x4 caravan friendly (need good approach and departure angles), and yes, you don’t need to reverse them in, you drive them through making them easy to stop, enjoy your space and get out again! • Local sites are a plenty, whether that is go for a walk to see the falls, OR it’s a rainy day and you take a 45 min trek deeper into the Gondwana belt, where the big trees live, the turquoise water begins, and the Koalas, and Greater Gliders still live (so long as we can keep those pesky loggers away). • Most of our sites have had their roads upgraded, but some like Between the Trees can be a little more ‘4x4’ only. So always ask us if unsure. • YES we allow you to bring your furry friends! 😊. (aka dog friendly stay) • YES we are perfect for the newbie Mountain Biker or those who like a speedy downhill (blue rated), as we also have a Flow Trail AND a pump track available (great for groms and codjers). NOTE: the pump track is only for those who book the River flat at this stage. Unless you're good at making friends with those staying there, bring a beer maybe.. and you can ask them if you can ride it? • Fire pits on most sites • FARM mornings are FREE – just ask us when you arrive! 😊. (cows, sometimes we are milking, goats, baby animals, chickens, a mini mule (Olaf), pigs & we have 4 can be noisy dogs upon arrival). Love some kids to help or just to pat a baby goat! • Need fire wood, or eggs, we sell so just ask. 😊. • Don’t have camping gear, well lucky you! We have also seen an owl near the chicken coop & if you're lucky you may spot the kangaroos in the paddock. We welcome tents, campervans, trailer tents and caravans but you need to provide your own drinking water- outside solar shower is available that can be filled up at the rainwater tank by the camp kitchen. NEED TO HAVE YOUR OWN TOILET FACILITIES WITH HOLDING TANK The Paddock suits all vehicles- Max 3 parties at once. We also have more private spot Woodland Area which suits just one party but vehicle access is a couple of mins walk and further to the camp kitchen. Little Plain Hall grounds - a small rural hall and grounds celebrating their 100th year in 2023 and adjacent to the Ellenborough River with a number of bush campsites available. (If you are after more than a nice piece of grass and a flushing toilet then this property maybe isn't for you!) All sites are reached via dirt tracks that can be rough and slippery. Sites 1 and 2 are adjacent to each other behind the hall and closest to the toilet and the most accessible-more suited to caravans and those without 4 wheel drives. Sites 3, 4 and 5 are adjacent to each other on the banks of the river. Site 6 is separate from the others on the bank of Little Plain Creek but furthest from the toilet. PLEASE NOTE: Access to the river at sites 3, 4 and 5 - the banks are steep and though we have a narrow track down it is slippery. There is access to the river at other spots on the property. This open grassed area of 6 acres is 5 kms further on from the Ellenborough Falls turnoff. (We are not near Ellenborough village but in Elands- this is a somewhat common error when people look us up.) We are a community-run non-profit facility available to campers. All funds raised are used to improve the grounds and hall. Directions to find us: From the Pacific Highway either from Port Macquarie or Taree: Following the Brown tourist signs to Ellenborough Falls turn off/ continue straight ahead on Glenwarrin Road (don't turn into the falls). You will cross over 2 bridges. After the second bridge we are the next property on the right. Larger rigs are not advised. because of the winding dirt roads to get to our village. One toilet available and limited tank water - please BYO water and be water wise with the tank water at the hall. Well behaved pets are welcome. Hall available for hire - please send an enquiry. Your ideal getaway - limited, private camp sites just a few K's off the Oxley Highway for a quiet overnight stop-over? ...or maybe you'd like to spend a few days chillaxing in a quiet and secure location (we have a locked gate and provide access code). Here you can set up your base camp to safely leave and do day trips to get out and explore the beautiful surrounding area. Only 45 min from Port Macquarie, 30 min to Wauchope and just 10 min to Long Flat where there's a Pub for takeaway, a social drink as well as food and sometimes live music on weekends. The General Store has general supplies, takeaway, PO and fuel. Retaining the peace and tranquillity of our property is important to us and why the number of sites and campers is limited. Although there are designated camping spots we're happy to be flexible if you arrive and would like to relocate within our extensive 'camping area' ...depending on weather conditions and respecting the personal space of other campers. We have livestock (currently horses) running throughout the property - some can be very friendly but please don't approach or feed them. We prefer no dogs but will allow if dogs remain well controlled, tethered or on a leash - this is for the safety of your pet as well as the livestock and wildlife. You will see and hear all kinds of wildlife, particularly morning and evening when they are most active. There are no amenities, rubbish or water facilities so come prepared, take what you brought and leave it as you found it. There is one only port-a-loo with pop-up-tent available for hire if required. You are welcome to take a walk or pushbike and enjoy the peace and nature but please no driving of vehicles or use of motorcycles or quads. PLEASE NOTE: Fire restrictions from September 1st and usually continue during Summer. Fire Permits are not required for fires for the purpose of cooking food, provided that: 1. the fire is in a permanently constructed fireplace. (or fire pit) 2. at a site surrounded by ground that is cleared of all combustible materials for a distance of at least two metres all around. 3. the fire is completely extinguished before leaving.

Small private farm with rural outlook, bamboo plantation, fruit trees and small bush to explore. 7 minutes from Beaches, 3 minutes from new boat ramp, and 15 minutes from a major town. Dog friendly (we have free range chickens so they may have to stay on a lead). No amenities so guests must be fully self-contained. A Jetty and river swimming spot is located just 2km away (quiet walk or bike ride). The Bohnock boat ramp (new) is just 3 km away. We are located in the Dungog Shire, in the Hunter Region of NSW. This area is renowned for its forests, mountains and picturesque river villages. Horseshoe camp is a perfect location for couples or families to get away for a short or extended stay. The land comprises fertile river flats surrounded by the Williams River. The higher land comprises mainly forested areas with some sites offering good views over the countryside. There are several campsites to choose from including some situated on the banks of the Williams River. Your choice and subject to weather conditions. Allowing only four sites to be occupied ensures privacy for our guests, Horseshoe camp is only 10 minutes drive, (7km) from Dungog township. In the hinterland of the Mid North Coast NSW on Biripi Country. The Bulga Plateau is the place to unwind, swim in mountain rivers and enjoy the Old Growth forests (yes we still have a few left Balgarr means mountain in local Gattang language. 600 metres above sea level on clear nights it feels like you are close enough to touch the Milky Way! The cabin is off grid, includes a small kitchenette with 2 burner gas stove, fridge, has double bed and 2 single beds. We have a BBQ and fire pit. This is rustic living, no flash flush here but a practical long drop eco-friendly compost toilet and a fantastic gas hot water shower out in the elements! You will need to bring your own bedding, pillows sheets etc. we are on tank water and at times it is low! Dogs are welcome but please bring their own bedding. The property is also home to local wildlife and filled with lots of old trees, plants and flowers whilst enjoy your morning cuppa on the balcony As we are 45 minutes from the closest town, you will need to fuel up before you head up the mountain. Also bring drinking water and all the food you will require for your stay. The Elands general store carries basic groceries, beer wine and spirits. Loads of walking tracks nearby; the Legendary Ellenborough Falls is 5 mins by car or half hour walk through the Elands Village Hour and half from Port Macquarie and Forster and one hour from Taree in the hinterland from Wingham or Comboyne (coming from Port Macquarie). There is an endless network of gravel roads and fire trails waiting to be explored, taking you through the national parks, state forests and undulating farmlands of the Bulga Plateau. This delightful self contained cabin is a perfect getaway for you to work on your project, (longer stays can be negotiated) be it visual art; a book; a film script; photography or simply forest breathing to clear the mind. Blue Knob (Kaoraoa) at 1014 metres, is one of the highest peaks in the forest with Panoramic Plateau Views of the surrounding country. 40 mins by car. I'm retired now and appreciate even more, living in paradise. The usually good amount of rain, the ever warmer summers when we can swim in the Ellenborough River. Yes after 40 years on the Bulga I can feel the changes in the environment, Come and enjoy!

We are unfortunately unable to take new bookings for the foreseeable future and likely until late 2026. Please check back with us later next year. Our property is private so we ask you to contact us first to ensure we can provide the facilities most suited to you. It suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is home to mangroves (so mosquitoes feed the leaping fish), all manner of sea creatures and dolphins are frequent in drier periods. Birdlife includes an array of land and waterbirds, such as Eagles, Magpies, Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. The wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, reptiles. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety). The boat ramp has good access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business. Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up. Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns). Activities include: - Bird/nature watching - Paddling/canoeing - Fishing - Bike riding (small motor vessels only by arrangement) - Surface type: grass or paddock leveled areas and others with slight slopes and accessed with 4WD (of course subject to weather). - Generally fair to good Mobile phone access. - BYO or Preorder firewood for applicable sites out of fire season. - No electrical connections unless by arrangement (for longer term Hipcampers) - We treat our own sewerage. - No generators please.
