Relax and unwind at our Land For Wildlife property, Melaleuca @ One Mile a boutique hostel and campground set on 6 acres of natural bushland in beautiful Port Stephens and only a 500m walk from the sparkling waters of magnificent One Mile Beach in Boat Harbour.
It is located just past Anna Bay village which is 2.5km away and the entrance to Worimi Conservation Lands the largest moving Sand Dune system in the Southern Hemisphere, where you can 4WD, swim, surf, or enjoy a camel or horse ride.
We have off-street parking with the car park area alongside the only car-free campground in Port Stephens. A large, open grassy area surrounded by tall melaleuca trees is perfect for pitching a swag or setting up a tent for camping. You are not limited to a small site; you can use as much space as you desire, and we ask that guests respect others and give each other some room.
In addition to the camping area, there is a small off-street, shaded area for a small number of campervans. There are no powered sites, and sorry, but we do not take caravans.
All guests have access to the facilities, including warm showers and toilets, a large Main building housing double kitchens with crockery and cutlery, toasters and kettles. There are indoor and outdoor covered seating areas, a free gas BBQ on the decked area, and free Wi-Fi.
The Tomaree Peninsula has 26 beaches with numerous walking trails, including the recently upgraded Tomaree Coastal Walk and plenty of water activities including Dolphin and Whale watching cruises, diving, surfing, kayaking, fishing and snorkelling.
Nelson Bay is 8 km from our site and the main tourist centre with plenty of restaurants and cafes, and there are more clubs and food options dotted around the peninsula.

Pets are welcome please pick up after them. Unfortunately, due to a recent incident. All dogs from now on must be on a leash at all times. The dangerous dog in question bit 4 people in less than 24 hours. Including my husband twice. You know your dog, But you cannot predict what another campers's dog is going to be like. Any dog on the NSW dangerous dogs list is absolutely not welcome here.
Free use of fire pits and free firewoods. You will need to be split the logs yourself. axes and wheelbarrows are supplied.
Hot showers and decent toilets, Good mobile phone signal. Two Communal Fridges .There is lots of space for campers. We have two sites with shade, four without. We suggest you bring a decent quality gazebo or equivalent. If you choose a non-shady site and then it's sunny, it is beyond our control.
We are located on a dead end road, so very rare to have any traffic after 8pm.
PLEASE NOTE: 1) We ONLY ALLOW ONE camper trailer or ONE caravan per site. No limit on number of tents.
2) IF You Have more than 3 vehicles/site please contact host before booking.
3) Depending on the weather on the day, we may have to limit the number of vehicles that can be parked adjacent to your campsite.
4) NO late night check in . If you are a group larger than two people, the check in time is between midday and sunset. Do not arrive after sunset. If in doubt call.
5) As the business name suggests (mountain) our property is on a hill. we are creating more level campsites. This year the weather has been terrible. From record rain to drought conditions in 3 months. Because of the earthworks there has been a bit of dust, which we have tried to control with grass seed and then no rain.... once each section of earthworks is done. Shade trees are being planted. But they are slow to grow.
6) Please check weather report a minimum of 7 days before you arrive and CANCEL your booking if you are not sure.

I have a small private property with grass campsites by a tidal outlet to Port Stephens harbour. We do not offer secluded camp sites away from other people on large acreage.
You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi.
Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. Yes there are mozzies because you are near water, so bring repellent.
Pets are welcome but must stay on a leash throughout your stay.

We are only 10-15 mins to Nelson Bay centre.
Beaches are just down the road also which includes Birubi Beach which goes all the way to Stockton and many more near by.
Right next door is Murrays Brewery and Sunset in the Vines, very handy to be able to walk next door (a really short walk) and have dinner and a drink.
Shark and Ray Centre is 10 mins drive also and then there is the Butterfly House and Shark and Ray Rescue Centre just behind us on Marsh Road.
Whilst we offer a space on our front area next to the dam, it is only a small area but plenty of room for a large van or RV with room to put out your awning provided you park where we suggest. We supply a fire pit and wood if you would like, please let us know on arrival or before you arrive so we can have it ready, (this in not an extra it is included in the price). We can offer electricity for an extra cost of $10 per night if needed. The main house is at the top of the circular drive way, you will be camping (Approx 50 m from the house). Pictures show this. We endeavour to appreciate your privacy as much as possible.

Noonameena is a beautiful retreat that feels secluded from the world, yet is just a stones throw from shops, beach, good food and parklands. We offer a number of grassy, level sites, some with shade, others with sun, all with bushland to the rear. There is also a pond/dam area, and lots of wildlife. We have a fire pit for communal use (subject to fire bans and weather conditions).
The kangaroos will come and visit you early in the morning, and in the evening. You will also see lots of different parrots and birds. We even have goannas and echidnas about and the black cockatoos will come in for a visit.
You will need to bring your own camp toilet, as we don't have facilities here.
Pets are welcome but please keep them on a lead at all times as we have lots of wildlife around!
Please note, when we have heavy rain, the ground can get boggy. We are very mindful to keep tabs on the weather for our guests, and will be in good communication with you in the lead up to your stay should we suspect there to be any issues. Whilst camping by the beautiful dam is lovely in fine weather, when it's raining, it’s best to camp towards the front of the property on higher ground. We'll advise the best solution in these circumstances.
LET US KNOW about your preferred booking even if it appears booked out, as we can probably make it work or have ALTERNATIVE solutions for you!

Our property is private so we ask you to contact us first to ensure we can provide the facilities most suited to you. It suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is home to mangroves (so mosquitoes feed the leaping fish), all manner of sea creatures and dolphins are frequent in drier periods.
Birdlife includes an array of land and waterbirds, such as Eagles, Magpies, Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. The wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, reptiles. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety).
The boat ramp has good access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business.
Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up.
Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns).

The Back Road Van is a 22 foot Viscount Supreme caravan, circa 1970's, in fairly original condition. Sitting on a 7 acre property in the beautiful Markwell Valley, and only a 7 minute drive from the village of Bulahdelah. (Note : 5kms of sealed road and 2kms of unsealed gravel road from town - suitable for all vehicles.)
The van is decorated to reflect the retro 70s style. Inside it features a ‘cosy’ double bed, with linen provided; a lounge area; plus a small galley kitchen, that includes a toaster, kettle, bar fridge, microwave and a 2 burner electric stove top. There are also added extras such as a selection of teas, coffee with plunger, milk and local free range eggs. (Note : the van does not have a plumbed water supply, but plenty of fresh water is provided. )
The van is covered by a large shelter - including an open seating area with lounge; table and chairs, a breakfast bar; and small gas BBQ.
There is a fire pit which can be used in Winter and Autumn and when fire restrictions allow. We supply all wood for the fire.
It also has its own separate bathroom, with shower, toilet and wash basin. Towels are supplied.
Our Pet Policy.
Your pet is more than welcome at the Back Road Van. Please keep on leash around the property to protect local wildlife.
The space inside the van is NOT suitable for two or more dogs (unless they are a tiny breed).

But they are slow to grow.

You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi.

Shark and Ray Centre is 10 mins drive also and then there is the Butterfly House and Shark and Ray Rescue Centre just behind us on Marsh Road.
Whilst we offer a space on our front area next to the dam, it is only a small area but plenty of room for a large van or RV with room to put out your awning provided you park where we suggest. We supply a fire pit and wood if you would like, please let us know on arrival or before you arrive so we can have it ready, (this in not an extra it is included in the price). We can offer electricity for an extra cost of $10 per night if needed. The main house is at the top of the circular drive way, you will be camping (Approx 50 m from the house). Pictures show this. We endeavour to appreciate your privacy as much as possible.

Noonameena is a beautiful retreat that feels secluded from the world, yet is just a stones throw from shops, beach, good food and parklands. We offer a number of grassy, level sites, some with shade, others with sun, all with bushland to the rear. There is also a pond/dam area, and lots of wildlife. We have a fire pit for communal use (subject to fire bans and weather conditions).
The kangaroos will come and visit you early in the morning, and in the evening. You will also see lots of different parrots and birds. We even have goannas and echidnas about and the black cockatoos will come in for a visit.
You will need to bring your own camp toilet, as we don't have facilities here.
Pets are welcome but please keep them on a lead at all times as we have lots of wildlife around!
Please note, when we have heavy rain, the ground can get boggy. We are very mindful to keep tabs on the weather for our guests, and will be in good communication with you in the lead up to your stay should we suspect there to be any issues. Whilst camping by the beautiful dam is lovely in fine weather, when it's raining, it’s best to camp towards the front of the property on higher ground. We'll advise the best solution in these circumstances.

Our property is private so we ask you to contact us first to ensure we can provide the facilities most suited to you. It suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is home to mangroves (so mosquitoes feed the leaping fish), all manner of sea creatures and dolphins are frequent in drier periods.
Birdlife includes an array of land and waterbirds, such as Eagles, Magpies, Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. The wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, reptiles. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety).
The boat ramp has good access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business.
Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up.
Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns).

We are located at Boolambayte on the Mid North Coast of NSW Australia.
We are co-creating a place for people to restore and connect to their health and wellbeing through connection to Mother Earth & Father Sky, connection to nature and the true nature within. We grow our own farm fresh chemical free food/herbs & medicine. Food is medicine. Syntropic Farming ~ Agroforestry ~ Permaculture ~ Ancient Intuitive Gardening inspired.
Eco Consciousness is key. We have a leave no trace policy. What you bring here please take away with you. We have a community barn with lounge, workshop/dining space, gallery and library for visitors to enjoy. We have BBQ area, kitchen sink and outdoor cold water shower (sometimes hot) & living grey water system. Please use only eco friendly wash products or use ours. We have compost toilets or bring your own camp toilet if you choose. We're cradled in a valley and surrounded by national park with wildlife all around, including snakes, lizards, kangaroos, wallabies, an incredible array of bugs and birdlife.
We are 10 mins Bulahdelah our nearest town, pristine Seal Rocks our nearest beach and we are very near to the Grandis, tallest tree in NSW. This is Worimi/Gathang Country ~ We acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional custodians of the land upon which we now live, we pay respect to elders past, present and future and extend that respect to all of the Original Caretakers around the world and the wisdom and knowledge they hold & share. Please be responsible for the energy you bring to this place.
We're cradled in a valley and surrounded by national park with wildlife all around. We have parking for cars adjacent to camping area and walk in camping only, for safety and ecological reasons we keep cars off camping field. Mandala Garden Food Forest Farm tours and Permaculture & Art workshops are available throughout the year and upon request/booking during stay. Fires are ok, unless there is a ban on, bring your own fire bin and wood.

Spirit of the Forest is one of the oldest properties in the area. Many years ago
it was an old dairy farm, but it has been through many transitions since then.... uniquely situated only a few kms. from the majestic "Grandis" tree it has an abundance of wildlife close by, wallabies come out to feed on the pasture
at dusk and dawn, mighty eagles soar overhead and beautiful Arabian horses run free in the paddocks.
Trevor and Maya moved here from Berry NSW 17 years ago. Trevor is an internationally acclaimed entertainer and horse whisperer and Maya is an artist, author and
lecturer. Both found the property a haven from their busy schedule of performing overseas.
A unique 70 acre Arabian horse property, surrounded by Myall Lakes National Park 4 kms from "The Grandis" the tallest tree in NSW and 10 kms from Bulahdelah Town also near to beautiful North Coast beaches.
There are many beautiful areas to choose from to camp, as well as a cabin.

The Back Road Van is a 22 foot Viscount Supreme caravan, circa 1970's, in fairly original condition. Sitting on a 7 acre property in the beautiful Markwell Valley, and only a 7 minute drive from the village of Bulahdelah. (Note : 5kms of sealed road and 2kms of unsealed gravel road from town - suitable for all vehicles.)
The van is decorated to reflect the retro 70s style. Inside it features a ‘cosy’ double bed, with linen provided; a lounge area; plus a small galley kitchen, that includes a toaster, kettle, bar fridge, microwave and a 2 burner electric stove top. There are also added extras such as a selection of teas, coffee with plunger, milk and local free range eggs. (Note : the van does not have a plumbed water supply, but plenty of fresh water is provided. )
The van is covered by a large shelter - including an open seating area with lounge; table and chairs, a breakfast bar; and small gas BBQ.
There is a fire pit which can be used in Winter and Autumn and when fire restrictions allow. We supply all wood for the fire.
It also has its own separate bathroom, with shower, toilet and wash basin. Towels are supplied.

Your pet is more than welcome at the Back Road Van. Please keep on leash around the property to protect local wildlife.
The space inside the van is NOT suitable for two or more dogs (unless they are a tiny breed).
If guests leave the property for any period, we ask they do not leave their pet alone inside the van.

The large campsite and cabin are located on a level, grassed area with plenty of space to pitch tents, or park campers and caravans.
Children just love the level grassy land to run and just be a kid. It's perfect for games like cricket, soccer, and football to name a few.
The amenities block has both toilet and shower, and there is also power available to connect up to. A large sheltered area, our camp kitchen, includes fridge, barbeque, electricity, kettle, table, chairs and more.
Enjoy bird watching, visiting wallabies in the late afternoon, or looking for fossils in the seasonal creek just a few metres away.
The historical town of Stroud is only 10 or so minutes away if you need supplies.
Karuah River is close by for swimming and fishing, and the Barrington Tops National Park is approximately 50 minutes away.
Ride Dungog is located at The Common in Dungog, for mountain bike enthusiasts. The area includes 650 acres offering trails for all different levels.
While visiting Dungog, there are boutique cafes and shops, a historic cinema, and a lot more to see as you wander through the streets.

The property is flat and open, it has paper bark trees for privacy, is has many species of birds, star gazing is a must on clear nights.
The campsite is 2WD friendly and can accommodate all types of camping vehicles including caravans, motorhomes, campervans . The camping area is generally level.

The property offers privacy and magnificent views of rolling green hills and ancient trees and a huge dam with pontoon for swimming. Great stars on a clear night. Sit, relax, and enjoy the magnificent views or utilise the surrounding forests, beaches, lakes, farmers markets, and local winery. You'll be camping with a herd of horses who do visit camping sites. There's also the Pet pig "Barney Rubble" and ponies / ducks/ chickens/ talking parrot to entertain little people.
Firewood can be purchased when you arrive for CASH for $20 per load and must be collected from the house upon arrival. Eggs also are available - $8 CASH on arrival. Lemons are free.
We limit bookings for your privacy. It is a hilly property so you need adequate power and 4WD to access the higher sites, particularly if towing. 4WD are most suitable for this property. Message before booking about access, particularly after rain, if you don't have a 4WD/off-road van. Dogs are welcome and are fine to be off-lead provided they don't chase horses and are friendly. They must be on a lead near the house around the free-range chooks etc. Campers should be fully contained. Bring all, take all, no footprint camping. We look forward to hosting you.

What a great place to camp! Each site is contained in its own space and beautifully kept. You feel as though you are far away from everyone but you are still so close to some great adventures. Nathan was so warm, welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend this site!

The first thing you'll notice is the beautifully maintained property with attention to detail that goes above and beyond. The camp kitchen and outdoor shower are exceptional. Everything is clean and tidy and Rod and Kellie are generous and kind people who care about you enjoying your stay and just to note, they also have a cute van and a cabin for the "Non-campers" in your group. 10/10 we will be back. Thanks for a great stay, we left relaxed and rejuvenated.

Exceptionally well maintained. Camp kitchen is very well equipped. The Rustic charm is astonishing and very relaxing. Kellie & Rod are extremely helpful and very friendly. Beautiful cared for property hosted by the delightful Kellie and Rod and their onsite caretakers. Plenty of space. Our site overlooked a lake with an abundance of water Lillie’s. The camp kitchen is extraordinary, decorated with old-time farming memorabilia. The outside shower (private) and toilets were cleaned daily and spotlessly clean.
