The sites are surrounded by rugged mountainous bush land with views, trails, cliffs, 3 creeks to explore and includes a private lake ‘Lake Arid’ with its own island, ‘Dead Dog Island’. Swim, paddle, fish, play.
Metres away is another private swimming hole ‘Pants Off Pond’ stocked with Silver Perch and Bass.
So whether you indulge in pants off, or leave them on and just fish it’s up to you.
Explore a little further and you’ll find ‘The Abyss’ a former micro quarry, 9m deep waterhole.
The creeks have waterfalls, swimming holes, pure and clean, though are a rugged unmarked hike.
The sites are site only. You’ll need to take care of your waste, water, rubbish and power. Generator is ok, we’re out of earshot, so is everyone else.
Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit and an abundance of ‘cut your own’ firewood upon the ground.
Remember, fires this time of year are for ‘cooking only’, so be sure to bring those marshmallows…
Pet Friendly, 4WD friendly with a bunch of serious challenges too… Horse friendly too, yep, there’s a yard to keep them too, up by the house.

The lagoon at the campground is over 10 acres of water, with native forest on three sides. It is great for canoeing or bushwalking and our bird life is spectacular.

Dog friendly - with limitations. Flushing disabled toilet available. Good access for 2WD. Campfires permitted in a designated area and firewood available for a donation to cut it all.

I moved here from Sydney in 1987.
In that time I have seen many changes.
I have come to love the Bungawalbin and have formed a very real bond with the whole area and have learnt so much in the journey.
Like most parts of the East Coast the land has been badly managed since European invasion in the way of logging, grazing, farming and burning practices that have degraded the diversity of what was once possibly the most diverse part of Australia. The bush is resilient but there is a limit to what it can withstand and I fear this precious wetlands is disappearing fast.
5 years ago bushfires devastated the whole forest leaving very little undamaged and it is still struggling to recover. Then catastrophic flooding in 2022 destroyed the homestead.
The property offers spacious, private campsites in a natural and tranquil setting.
Bush walking and birdwatching are a must, or just relaxing by the billabong may reward you with a wildlife encounter.
The billabong is perfect for canoeing or paddleboarding and normally flows for up to 9 months of the year.

Bimbi farm is a 40 hectare cattle farm in Tuntable Creek offering camping, a cottage and a villa. It is a very calm and beautiful place which includes natural and regenerated rain forest. It is full of natural flora and fauna, koalas, wallabies, echidnas and hundreds of different species of birds. Bimbi means 'bird' in the language of the Widjabul people of the Bundalung nation, the land on which our farm is situated.
The property is 5 minutes from the Channon which has the general store, post office and fuel, plus the well renowned tavern. It is an easy drive to the stunning Protestor and Minyon Falls, Rocky Creek Dam, Whian Whian and Nightcap National Parks, Nimbin, Clunes, Eltham and Bangalow. We had a wonderful three‑night stay. The adults, kids, and dogs all had a great time. It was so peaceful, and being close to the beach was a huge bonus too. Our toddler especially loved the little bush walk to Platypus Pocket. The views and the cows were a highlight too. A perfect family weekend.

Cameron was an accommodating host and super knowledgeable of the area.

We would highly recommend this campsite to anyone wanting to camp at Evans Head. The site is spacious and very well equipped, with a clean and practical shower/toilet block. The bonus shed provides extra shelter and extremely useful kitchen facilities, including a fridge, kettle, microwave, and fan.
The kids loved making a fire and cooking on the fire pit, and the surprise extra was being able to swim and kayak in the dam, with kayaks provided on site. It really is a fantastic little spot to camp.
The most outstanding part was meeting Cameron, who is a very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly host. We would highly recommend this site and will definitely be returning in the near future.

Enjoyed our time, beautiful scenery, close to beach in Pottsville. Creek at this particular time (Jan 2026) was not flowing well enough that I would like to sit in to cool off as the cows travel through and I just didn’t feel comfortable. Found the instructions a little overwhelming, lots there to read and understand. All common sense with respecting others property. I would recommend, to tick off your list but we won’t be returning as there’s so much out there to see. Found price quite up there, I assume due to being highly rated. Thank you for letting us enjoy your property.
