Ribbonwood Cottages

6 sites ¡ Lodging100 acres ¡ Bombowlee, NSW
“Six generations of local knowledge will ensure your stay is welcoming and informed” Ribbonwood Cottages offers a unique Tumut experience with fully self contained cottages situated on a 100 acre working farm with cattle and horses and a half kilometre of private Tumut River frontage. An ideal location for trout fishing, boating, wildlife watching situated at the gateway to the Snowy Mountains and a perfect base for exploring the surrounding region. The property boasts it’s own private 3 acre island, opening up another kilometre of river frontage. Enjoy catching your own fish on the banks of the beautiful Tumut River. This historic property was the site of one of the two original settlements of Tumut and was where the first bridge over the river was built. It is home to the largest English Elm tree in the world. The fertile river flats were first used for growing tobacco and then during the 1900’s, for the growing of millet. Don McDonald (Brett’s grandfather) was one of the pioneers of the local millet industry and the famous Tumut millet brooms. Six generations of local knowledge within the same family ensures your stay will be warm, welcoming and full of local information. Our cottages come complete with antique furniture and are personally maintained to the highest standards. Your host Brett has a lifetime of experience fishing the local rivers, creeks and dams and offers fishing tips to all guests. All Cottages have free WiFi

Amazing Views Pet Friendly Bed & Breakfast

1 site ¡ Lodging10 acres ¡ Yass, NSW
Modern, self-contained, pool house, and working sheep/cattle property in a peaceful country setting, 20 minutes from Yass. Great water views overlooking Murrumbidgee River and exclusive use of swimming pool. Break your trip with your four-legged friend/s, or stay a few days and relax in our clean country's fresh air. See the stars, and hear the silence. The space consists of a queen-sized bed with 100% cotton white line-dried sheets, and a modern ensuite bathroom. A sitting area with a sink, refrigerator, microwave, and stove. The cooking space is quite small and best for fairly basic food preparation. Also included is a TV. (32" flat screen) and a DVD player. We are very pleased to announce that we have just installed reverse cycle heating and air conditioning for your added comfort. There are ceiling fans if required. A 'Tastic' heater is in the bathroom for extra comfort. Enjoy exclusive use of our 10m swimming pool, BBQ, and deck. We will take children, over 5 years old, who are able to swim, but would insist that parents supervise at all times. A fold-up bed is available as an extra bed, and the charge for extras per night is $30.00, to cover costs with extra laundry, cleaning etc. You will find some up-to-date magazines to relax with while here, DVDs, and complimentary chocolate. The nearest shop/food outlet is in Yass, so I advise guests to bring dinner with them or to book a home-cooked meal to be served in the BnB. Our guests have exclusive use of the swimming pool and deck with elevated views of the surrounding spectacular scenery. Feel free to wander around the garden. We endeavour to keep the pool sparkling, but cannot always guarantee perfection. No diving please, for your own safety. A BBQ is available for use on the deck. Other things to note Continental breakfast is included, and if you require an evening meal, I can provide a two-course dinner for $40/person.. Please give advance notice if this is required, preferably when booking. We are a pet-friendly B&B, and welcome your pets but expect them to be clean and obedient. We charge $10 extra for one dog/night and $15/night for two dogs/night. We ask that you provide your pets with bedding and food bowls, and they are not allowed on the bed or sofa under any circumstances. Please don't go out and leave your pets behind, unless under very special circumstances and we have been asked first.
