We have cleared grassy paddocks, some shady areas, and access to the Colo River, one of the most pristine rivers in NSW. Our river access is normally shallow, well-suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a refreshing dip. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks. We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking. (Saturday night 2-night minimum) There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred. There are fire drums available on each site, most with grill plates - subject to RFS bush fire danger ratings on the day. There are three communal flushing toilets and two awesome hot water showers! ALL waste is to leave with you! There are local bush walks through National Parks and great places for mountain bike riding although be mindful of holiday traffic in peak times on our local dirt roads. I have a small private property with grass campsites by a tidal outlet to Port Stephens harbour. We do not offer secluded camp sites away from other people on large acreage. You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi. Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. Our property contains the first road in and out of Colo - the original road is supported by hand built dry rock walls some of which are over 3 m high. Often referred to as convict built, but more likely built by freemen who were former convicts.  The property housed the load master's residence who controlled the cargo boats that docked to collect the valley’s produce. This was then transported back down the Colo River which flows into the Hawkesbury river and leads to Broken Bay following the coastline down to Old Sydney Town. The beach diagonally across the river was landed upon by members of the First Fleet’s exploratory scouting party on the lookout for quality farm land - some of which is still in production today.  Our property is on the uppermost reach of freshwater but with tidal influence. This deep water allows swimming and canoeing all year round. Our property is adjacent to the only council built canoe launching facilities on the Colo River.

Noonameena is a beautiful retreat that feels secluded from the world, yet is just a stones throw from shops, beach, good food and parklands. We offer a number of grassy, level sites, some with shade, others with sun, all with bushland to the rear. There is also a pond/dam area, and lots of wildlife. We have a fire pit for communal use (subject to fire bans and weather conditions). The kangaroos will come and visit you early in the morning, and in the evening. You will also see lots of different parrots and birds. We even have goannas and echidnas about and the black cockatoos will come in for a visit. You will need to bring your own camp toilet, as we don't have facilities here. Pets are welcome but please keep them on a lead at all times as we have lots of wildlife around! Please note, when we have heavy rain, the ground can get boggy. We are very mindful to keep tabs on the weather for our guests, and will be in good communication with you in the lead up to your stay should we suspect there to be any issues. Whilst camping by the beautiful dam is lovely in fine weather, when it's raining, it’s best to camp towards the front of the property on higher ground. We'll advise the best solution in these circumstances. LET US KNOW about your preferred booking even if it appears booked out, as we can probably make it work or have ALTERNATIVE solutions for you! Our property contains the first road in and out of Colo - the original road is supported by hand built dry rock walls some of which are over 3 m high. Often referred to as convict built, but more likely built by freemen who were former convicts.  The property housed the load master's residence who controlled the cargo boats that docked to collect the valley’s produce. This was then transported back down the Colo River which flows into the Hawkesbury river and leads to Broken Bay following the coastline down to Old Sydney Town. The beach diagonally across the river was landed upon by members of the First Fleet’s exploratory scouting party on the lookout for quality farm land - some of which is still in production today.  Our property is on the uppermost reach of freshwater but with tidal influence. This deep water allows swimming and canoeing all year round. Our property is adjacent to the only council built canoe launching facilities on the Colo River.

Noonameena is a beautiful retreat that feels secluded from the world, yet is just a stones throw from shops, beach, good food and parklands. We have a fire pit for communal use (subject to fire bans and weather conditions). The kangaroos will come and visit you early in the morning, and in the evening. We are very mindful to keep tabs on the weather for our guests, and will be in good communication with you in the lead up to your stay should we suspect there to be any issues. Whilst camping by the beautiful dam is lovely in fine weather, when it's raining, it’s best to camp towards the front of the property on higher ground. We have 2 water entrances, one is a large grassed area with shallow water which is great for kids & families. The other entrance is a natural sandy entry with a deeper swimming area suitable for adults. We also have a beautiful lagoon area where I can arrange additional campers. We have built some new flushing toilets (3) with a hot water shower.We are very accommodating of your pets. We welcome dogs and can host horses in one of the paddocks. Please ensure you contact the host prior to your stay if you are bringing any animals. We have canoes & floats which you can hire to paddle up the river. Additional activities here include fishing, swimming, bushwalking, canoeing & birdwatching. Noonameena is a beautiful retreat that feels secluded from the world, yet is just a stones throw from shops, beach, good food and parklands. We offer a number of grassy, level sites, some with shade, others with sun, all with bushland to the rear. There is also a pond/dam area, and lots of wildlife. We have a fire pit for communal use (subject to fire bans and weather conditions). The kangaroos will come and visit you early in the morning, and in the evening. We enjoyed our stay at Myrtle Ridge farm. The open space surrounded by trees was a lovely tranquil place to camp. The morning cacophony of bird calls is amazing. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The hosts are incredibly helpful and friendly, full of local knowledge. The camp is close to the highway and The Entrance so everything is in easy access to shops for topping up supplies. A great place for a one night stop or longer.

We are only 10-15 mins to Nelson Bay centre. Beaches are just down the road also which includes Birubi Beach which goes all the way to Stockton and many more near by. Right next door is Murrays Brewery and Sunset in the Vines, very handy to be able to walk next door (a really short walk) and have dinner and a drink. Shark and Ray Centre is 10 mins drive also and then there is the Butterfly House and Shark and Ray Rescue Centre just behind us on Marsh Road. Whilst we offer a space on our front area next to the dam, it is only a small area but plenty of room for a large van or RV with room to put out your awning provided you park where we suggest. We supply a fire pit and wood if you would like, please let us know on arrival or before you arrive so we can have it ready, (this in not an extra it is included in the price). We can offer electricity for an extra cost of $10 per night if needed. The main house is at the top of the circular drive way, you will be camping (Approx 50 m from the house). Pictures show this. Originally settled in 1889 "Bobs Grant" this lovely property and the surrounding land was originally used for farming but is now mostly turf farms. Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river. Destroyed in the March and July 2022 floods, we have now re-built and are loving welcoming back our guests. Bring your caravans, tent or swag - all are welcome! Unfortunately, boats are not. Relax and enjoy the serenity whilst being only 1 hour from Sydney. We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. Groups are welcome here to enjoy the time with their family and friends, play a little music and relax by the river. The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice! We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water. ​Fires are only permitted when allowed, in the designated areas only.

La Cascina is a small property on a hill surrounded by trees and bushland. There are two main camping areas which would suite tent and small to medium van/car camping. There is access to neighbouring bushland with nice short walks available in the area. Only 20 minutes by car to Newcastle CBD, 10 minutes by car to Redhead Beach and 5 minutes by car to Lake Macquarie. La Cascina is a great spot to stop overnight on a road trip or to get away for the weekend to relax. We have no toilets so please bring your own. The access to the property is a steep sealed driveway. Site 1 is an open site with plenty of shade. The area is flat. More suited to larger camping setups. This site is less private. There is vision of the neighbouring property and an overflow campsite 50 meters away. Site 2 is a more uneven surface area which is better for smaller vans and tents. Redhead Beach is the closest dog beach 10 minutes by car. Croudace Bay is a dog park on the lake which is 5 minutes by car. This is a family owned acreage that brings the best parts of environmental living with the benefits of being close to the coast and a city. A very long time ago it was the site of a quarry. The nature has returned and we are left with a beautiful forested acreage.

Do you fancy camping on your own exclusive section of the Hunter River with no roads or traffic noise to spoil the serenity? You wont have to share your spot with other campers and you have direct access to the river. Rosebrook River Camp gives you your own private retreat, far away from the crowds but only a few minutes from the beating heart of the Hunter Valley. Our property is situated in the locality of Rosebrook, a fertile area steeped in a rich dairying history. We're only 10 minutes from Maitland and 25 minutes from the Vineyards, but the privacy of the camp site makes it feel like you're miles from anywhere. You've got direct access to the Hunter River with a sandy beach, great swimming holes and it's perfect for a peaceful kayak up or down stream, dependent on river levels at the time of your stay. Bring your own kayak or use ours for a small fee. For those a bit more adventurous, we take you via road to our drop off point and you paddle downstream (a leisurely 3 hours) until you arrive at the beach near your campsite. There are heaps of places to stop and have some lunch and a swim on the way. The site is a drive through level, grassy area and easily accessed by 2WD vehicle if you're not towing. For caravans and camper trailers, a 4WD is recommended but it's pretty easy going. Pets are welcome, but MUST stay within the site paddock if not on a lead. Our neighbours have stock and it's important we are always respectful toward them. A garbage bin and recycle bin is provided but you will need your own toilet. There is a designated area for a fire (when conditions permit) and we can supply firewood if required for a small fee. We’ve kept things simple and natural because that’s the way we like it. It’s a true bush camp — plenty of space, plenty of privacy, and no fuss. We just ask that everyone who stays treats the place with respect and leaves it as they found it, so the next campers can enjoy it too. Whether you’re here for a quiet weekend, a bit of fishing, or just to switch off from the world for a while, this is the place to do it. So come on out, take a deep breath, and slow down for a few days. You’ll soon see why we love it here and why it’s hard to leave once you’ve settled in.

Welcome! Lovely to see you here. Our property is located in Arcadia, just 45 minutes from Sydney CBD. The campsite is located on the high side of the property that looks over into the valley & has stunning views of the Berowra National Park. There is a multitude of walking, hiking and mountain bike trails. There are also many nearby horse riding trails. The property backs on to Calabash Creek which is like a rain Forrest once you get down to the valley floor. Berowra waters is near by, whereby many fishing, canoeing, boating activities are available, coupled with some great cafes/restaurants. Campfires are allowed as long as there are no restrictions in place and they are supervised. Pets are welcome and can be off leash, however are the responsibility of their human parents. On the Central Coast just 1.5 hours from Sydney is this relaxing peaceful escape suitable for a few families or a group of friends. This place has a truly fascinating history. The huge backyard previously hosted an annual gypsy festival to celebrate International Romani day. The backyard is really the highlight - from the moment you step into it you will feel like you have escaped into your own little paradise. The house itself has 3 bedrooms, with 1 bathroom inside and 1 bathroom outside. Inside the house, which can sleep up to 8 people. In addition to the main house, there are 3 hand-made gypsy style caravans on site. The largest (brown) caravan at the front of the property has a double bed and 2 small single beds - so can sleep up to 4 people. It is suitable for 2 adults and 2 kids. The smallest caravan (green) has 2 single beds in it - please note that these beds are narrower than a standard single bed - see photos. Bed linen and Towels are provided only for the main house occupants - you must bring your own linen and towels when staying in the caravans. The medium caravan (blue) is in the backyard and can be used as a cubby house/chill out area or workspace. The house itself has recently been renovated, with care taken to retain its gorgeous vintage fixtures and furniture. There are coloured stained glass windows and lighting pendants throughout the house. This is our family holiday house so we have set it up with everything that you and your family will need to feel comfortable and at home. It’s an absolute paradise for kids with the trampoline, jetty, gypsy cubby house, kayaks and fishing opportunities.
