Kate and Dave were the most amazing hosts and the Camp was the best we’ve stayed at! The different camperes were placed far apart so it felt like we had the entire ground to ourselves - and we were placed so we were looking right at the cows which was amazing. In the morning we were able to meet and pet all the animals on the farm which was an amazing experience ❤️ Fuerthermore they were amazing at showing us the stingrays and how to feed them. Colin was nothing short of a wonderful host. Super prompt to respond to any questions I had as we didn’t have a 4WD van and met us upon arrival and brought us straight down to the campsite. The site itself was absolutely beautiful we were surrounded by kangaroos and wildlife it was so quiet and peaceful exactly what we wanted. Colin also had plenty of firewood should we wish to light it and drums of water alongside a bin supplied for our use. He made sure we were entirely comfortable and was super friendly! Hopefully we’ll get back again at some point!

We had a lovely stay at Buenpaso - good step, Katie’s camp. The weather was perfect, and we had beautiful views of the paddock with lots of wildlife for the kids to see. Colin, the caretaker was very accommodating for our stay. The supplied firewood kept us warm at night and there was plenty of exploring to do for the kids. We will be back for sure

We absolutely loved staying at The Flat. The grounds were beautifully prepared and so clean. Grass was soft underfoot and the pathways thoughtfully mown. My daughter and I delighted in exploring the little teatree forests and the creek beds. Particular fave was feeding the animals and patting the donkeys. Kate was generous with her time and spirit. Would recommend highly and we’d love to come back!

We had an amazing stay at Misty Mountain Farm stay. The hosts were absolutely wonderful — so welcoming, helpful, and full of great local knowledge that really made our stay special. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests and the area. The campsite itself was fantastic: clean, spacious, and peaceful. The paddock was beautifully maintained with freshly mowed grass, making it perfect to relax and unwind. It felt open, well looked after, and incredibly inviting. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a well-kept, friendly, and tranquil place to camp.

Good: Nice view, quite easy to access the river like swimming or boating. Bad: Only one bath/toilet, need to queue outside sometimes. Bath temp sometimes is low and unstable. Entry road is dirt and bouncy for around 8km, good for 4WD or SUV but could be unfriendly or even harmful for sedan or luxury cars so please be prepared for that.

Booderee National Park

Sitting next to Jervis Bay, Booderee National Park is full of stunning coastal scenery only 30 minutes from Bendalong. It’s a top spot for swimming, fishing, boating, and sightseeing—the historic Cape St. George Lighthouse offers panoramic views for spotting migrating whales. Head to Murrays Beach for soft white sand and crystal-clear water filled with lively marine animals—a scuba diver's dream. Several on-site campgrounds offer a mix of walk-in and drive-in campsites, with some featuring power hookups. Amenities like hot showers, flush toilets, drinking water, and sheltered BBQ areas are also available.

Morton National Park

Just over an hour inland, Morton National Park boasts beautiful waterfalls, rainforest walking tracks, and over a dozen scenic lookouts. Campgrounds here have plenty of room for tents, caravans, and motorhomes. While the campsites are unpowered, comforts like drinking water, toilets, showers, picnic tables, and boat ramps prioritise convenience. Campers can also hop on the bike to explore the Bundanoon cycling route, saunter down an elevated boardwalk to view Fitzroy Falls, or slip the kayak into Kangaroo River.

Murramarang National Park

With 42 kilometres of coastline, Murramarang National Park is worthy of a visit on a NSW camping trip.
