Kookaburra is a small farm on 20 acres. A quiet location less than two minutes off the Princes Highway, located halfway between Ulladulla and Nowra on the NSW South Coast (approximately 3 hours from Sydney and Canberra). Camping is available on lush green paddocks or under the trees, a short walk from the creek. We enjoy plenty of birdlife, wallabies, and wombats (keep an eye out at dusk).
Guests will enjoy solitude and space, but please be aware that other groups may be visible. There are no restroom facilities here, so guests must be self-sufficient, take rubbish, and leave no trace.
We have cows, chickens, and a pig.
There are a wide variety of local activities to enjoy. National parks surround us for four-wheel driving, motorbiking, mountain biking, hiking, and climbing. We are also within 30 minutes of numerous beaches.
It is a beautiful, quiet, and secluded spot to spend your next weekend or just overnight while passing through.
No groups
Fires are allowed, and firewood is available (cut/collect your own). We are pet-friendly and love our pets, too, but please ensure they are well-behaved and leave the animals and wildlife alone.
Things to note:
There is little phone reception (mostly none).
2WD is generally fine unless it gets very wet.
Bring a pest repellent.
Wombat holes do extensive damage to unsuspecting vehicles.

The Yackungarrah Creek winds through the property, flowing into a deep waterhole. The farm is home to horses, chickens, dogs, cows, and a cat. We also have an abundance of wildlife including wombats, possums, many native birds, and occasionally kangaroo, wallabies and deer.
Dogs are welcome, but must be under their owner's control, especially near livestock. Please be respectful of other guests and keep noise down after 9pm.

The site is well grassed and provides abundant shade from the overhead canopy. Best shade is in the morning when you want to sleep in. There is a tranquil creek on the eastern side of the camp and horses and hand reared cattle graze on the western paddock. You need to be a self-contained camper with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. Bring some books, set up a hammock and laze the days away. Beaches on the coast and beautiful Jervis Bay are 20 Minutes away. The Jervis Bay region has much to offer so if you're up for adventure, bring your kayaks and snorkelling gear. Our beaches have the whitest sand in the world. Why not check out the dolphin and whale cruises and get up and personal with the marine life.The property is 3 km off the Princes Hwy. It is a 10 min drive from Nelligen town centre and a 20 min drive from Batemans Bay. If you need supplies you can also travel by boat into Batemans Bay and tie up to many of its wharfs for that different experience.
The camping area is surrounded by walking tracks and over the Christmas period the renowned Clyde Berry Farm is open where you can pick your own fresh berries or relax on the grounds for a ice-cream.
You will find Shallow Crossing is also just a 10 min drive up the River Road for an exhilarating swim in fresh mountain water.
The traditional water side camp kitchen offers a BBQ and table to eat. Has power and lighting, fresh drinking water, toilet, hot and cold shower and plenty of cover. With a fire pit just outside for toasting of marshmallows this makes for the best camping spot in the region.
Please be mindful this is a camping and caravaning experience, there is for your convenience a flushing toilet (bring own toilet paper) and shower onsite, in busy periods (peak times) there may be a slight wait for these amenities.
This site has its own concrete boat ramp making a heaven for all fisho's and skiers. The ramp is totally safe to launch any watercraft. With water onsite you can even flush motors at the end of the day.

While the campsites are unpowered, comforts like drinking water, toilets, showers, picnic tables, and boat ramps prioritise convenience. Campers can also hop on the bike to explore the Bundanoon cycling route, saunter down an elevated boardwalk to view Fitzroy Falls, or slip the kayak into Kangaroo River.
Murramarang National Park
With 42 kilometres of coastline, Murramarang National Park is worthy of a visit on a NSW camping trip.
