It is a work in progress and there is plenty more to come, currently there is a ablution block that is up near the old house site, we decided it was best to have the camp area closer to the river. We have since added a camp kitchen, large undercover area and two cabins (for our own use at this stage). Enjoy direct access to the river plus more swimming areas on the property. Campfires are permitted. There is some firewood on the property but probably best to bring some of your own. There is Telstra service enabling mobile coverage if needed especially for emergencies. 4WDs are recommended to access this campsite. During the rain we recommend 4WD only. In dry you can access with an all wheel drive. Please message us if you're unsure about weather conditions and your vehicle. Our little piece of Utopia is still a work in progress but is picturesque as well as peaceful. Your furry family member is welcome to join you. We hope you enjoy our little Utopia.

Our property is dog friendly for well-behaved dogs that don't chase wildlife or the horses on our property. No hunting dogs. Campfires permitted when there are no restrictions. You can gather your own wood, or we can prepare wood for you. Dogs are welcome, however, we do run sheep in an adjoining paddock so they need to stay close to your camp. Kids aged 16 and under camp for free. There is a dedicated campfire pit so you can stay warm on chilly evenings (please check to see if there is a seasonal fire ban in place). Fire wood can be provided - chainsaws are permitted but be mindful of structures that are animal habitats. Your family may enjoy taking a bushwalk that takes you around the 300 acre native bush paddock. Climb up and get a birds eye view down into a gully of magnificent granite boulders above where the river disappears deep below. Identify the unique sounds of the native birds and follow the tracks wildlife create. We are centrally located - just 1.5 hours from the snowfields and from the best beaches of the NSW coastline. There is a small general store, 2 takeaway cafes and a pub at Nimmitabel, or you can get all supplies in Cooma 25 mins away. 3 nights at Kangarutha Farm

Absolutely beautiful farm and camp site! The Camp by the Dam site was private, peaceful, scenic and sheltered from the wind, with views over the dam. We experienced a lot of wildlife (wallabies, kangaroos, lizards, frogs, horses and heaps bird life). We spotted kookaburras, nectar eaters and two different kinds of Kingfisher birds (if you enjoy birdwatching, I recommend taking binoculars!). It was the perfect spot for our dog to be primarily off lead and she absolutely loved it, with plenty of space to run and play. We had the entire farm to ourselves for our three night stay, and even if other campers had been on site, it still would have been very private. Waking up to bird song was absolutely delightful. The kitchen, toilet and shower facilities were great to have access to, within a short distance walk. The kitchen has a small fridge, microwave and washing up facilities, dining table, air conditioning and power points to recharge our power bank for our phones. There were plenty of communal areas which would be perfect for group events (large outdoor dining area/table and chairs, fire pit, beautifully landscaped spaces, events building with large kitchen, dining and lounge area). There were recycling and general rubbish bins, and toilet paper was provided. We ordered a wheelbarrow of wood for our three night stay which was more than enough for our time there and was ready on site for our arrival. We can't wait to book our next visit! Highly recommend!

28 nights at Merimbula Camping

I had a wonderful stay at Merimbula Camping. The bush scenery was lovely and the wombats were hilarious and cute. They liked my caravan and used it as a backscratcher at various times in the night. I then put solar lights around so they mostly stayed away. I loved seeing them in the paddock each night - gentle and quiet. There are many other spacious and beautiful sites with drum fireplaces. The toilets were fine. Hot showers available up at the house. Excellent location just out of town . Water available (bring jerries) on site but you can also get it near town on the Bega Rd out. Dump point available in Pambula a few kms away. Great camping - I’ll be back Meredith !

This is a fantastic camp, we would return anytime! Kangarutha is a very charming property and the bush campsites are large and set in amongst beautiful large gum trees. Second stay and can happily say this time around we faced no issues! Sharon has updated the information to include instructions for resetting the amenities block pump if it plays up (first stay this happened with no solution). Can highly recommend this camp, amenities are unreal and the location just tops it off. Makes for a nice trip from Canberra via Badja Forest Road > Falcon road.

The setting is very picturesque, right on the shores of Lake Wallaga. People & all staff were friendly & helpful. It’s only a few kms out of Bermagui, but peaceful & serene, with lovely walks from your door. Being pet friendly was fabulous as we could take our furry best friend with us . Amenities were spotless at all times. Highly recommended.

Absolutely stunning. This place is a must do if in the area. Located close to Bega makes seeing the town very easy. We had the luck of being the only ones here during our 3 nights and would happily have stayed longer. The camp is located all by itself on the property making it feel truly secluded, with an amazing outlook over the property. Thanks Norm & Narelle for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy your backyard.

Nice neat and tidy caravan park. Easy to get around and park on the site. Well-organised. Nice, friendly, helpful staff. Lovely little beach and river on one side. Very nice setting. It is ten minutes drive south of Eden so not convenient if you want to park up and then explore Eden. But a relaxed place to stay.

We had a wonderful mid-week stay at Kangarutha Bush Camp (Site 1) for 5 nights with our two dogs. It was the perfect peaceful spot and such a great base to explore the surrounding areas. Lisa and Tom were lovely hosts, welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help. The amenities were clean and well looked after, which made our stay even more comfortable. Our dogs absolutely loved the open space and bush setting, and we really appreciated how dog-friendly the site was. We left feeling relaxed and refreshed, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful escape close to nature!
