We purchased our 200-acre property after it was heavily impacted by the Summer 2019/20 bushfires. As newcomers to farming, we’re learning what it means to live and work on the land. The property came with a flock of sheep—who continue to teach us new things every day—and we share the farm with our incredibly friendly kelpie, Sage. We’re keen to move toward organic farming, do our part for the environment, and embrace a more sustainable lifestyle. Misty Mountain Wildlife Refuge is a 330 acre farm which provides sanctuary to kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas and many bird species including their habitats. There are Alpacas and Sheep, Kangaroos, Wombats, Kookaburras, Echidnas and many other animals that enjoy this property. The land has 80 acres of cleared grassland this side of the river, and for the adventurous and energetic you can rome the other 250 acres by crossing to the other side of the rive, there are large stands of rainforest and bushland, with 2.5 km of Brown Mountain Creek and its tributary meandering through it. There are some swimming holes and mini rapids; the crystal clear water flowing over the river rocks can be heard from most parts of the farm. The land comprises Little Brown Mountain and has 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and farmland with wonderful cloud formations and mists contributing their mystery and beauty to the dramatic landscape. There is an orchard with trees producing several varieties of apple, stone fruit and citrus in abundance. A cottage garden produces various vegetables and herbs such as spinach, celery, potatoes, garlic, chives, lettuce, rocket, parsley, turmeric, peas, beans, tomato etc. Past bushfire damage to some trees in the cleared paddocks is evident however, many are recovering well and most provide photographers with interesting and dramatic subject matter. Due to the catastrophic events of the NSW bush fires in this area all camp fires must be kept responsibly safe and no unsafe camp fires will be tolerated. All Guests are required to have an acceptable camp toilet, no holes in the ground. All river access points are shared, be mindful of others. As dogs are welcome and even well behaved dogs will be dogs when it comes to their family, all guests are advised to make themselves known prior to going near another's camp site, then there is no surprises either way. Jackie is always willing to give fresh produce from her veggie garden during your stay just to make you feel welcome. There are horses you can pat and a few sheep that are very friendly and love to be given bread. The historic Bega Cheese Factory and Heritage Center is just a couple of minutes away. The main shopping center and mall in town is just a five-minute drive. On our property, we can offer you a relaxing quiet stay in a secure area. Pitch your tent or park your campertrailer in the native bushland with the pristine Numeralla River as your boundary fence. This 3000 acre property is located close to Nimmitabel and not too far from Cooma. Try your hand at trout fishing and enjoy endless tracks for bushwalking and observing the native wildlife. Wander along the river banks just enjoying the serenity of the location and witness platypus feeding, water dragons sunning themselves and the brown trout fly feeding and one of Australia's beautiful but lesser known native rodents, Rakali (intelligent semi aquatic water rat who's scientific name translates to golden -bellied water mouse). One of Australia's two aquatic mammals, the platypus being the other. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. IF NO CHEMICAL TOILET, DIG A HOLE AT LEAST 30CM DEEP . There is access to a drinking water supply (mountain river water), or you can bring your own water. After heavy rain you may need to boil/filter for drinking. You will need a 4WD to access the campsites closest to the river as there is a shallow gully crossing. Camper trailer or off road pop up campers will be able to negoiate the tracks. Good clearance necessary to pass over one gully crossing. Dogs are welcome, however, we do run sheep in an adjoining paddock so they need to stay close to your camp. Kids aged 16 and under camp for free. There is a dedicated campfire pit so you can stay warm on chilly evenings (please check to see if there is a seasonal fire ban in place). Fire wood can be provided - chainsaws are permitted but be mindful of structures that are animal habitats. Your family may enjoy taking a bushwalk that takes you around the 300 acre native bush paddock. Climb up and get a birds eye view down into a gully of magnificent granite boulders above where the river disappears deep below. Identify the unique sounds of the native birds and follow the tracks wildlife create. We are centrally located - just 1.5 hours from the snowfields and from the best beaches of the NSW coastline. There is a small general store, 2 takeaway cafes and a pub at Nimmitabel, or you can get all supplies in Cooma 25 mins away. Please note that we have very limited reception service for mobiles, so let's communicate via messages before you arrive in our area. I can provide a camping setup if you need extra bedding or you don't have any camping equipment or tent.

No toilet or amenities. 4WD is best but not absolutely necessary, a small low clearance car won't be suitable. Pets allowed but be aware it is a running cattle farm and it's expected that you know your pets whereabouts at all times. At 1200 metres elevation it is often colder than the surrounding areas and sometimes very foggy. A second site is available near our house at the "hayshed". Let's say you're travelling between Bega and Cooma or Bombala, it's getting late and you need a spot to spend the night which is safe and you can plug into power. Next morning buy some fresh eggs, have breakfast, check your vehicle over, top up a bit of water and back to the main highway in a few minutes.

This 3000 acre property is located close to Nimmitabel and not too far from Cooma. Try your hand at trout fishing and enjoy endless tracks for bushwalking and observing the native wildlife. Wander along the river banks just enjoying the serenity of the location and witness platypus feeding, water dragons sunning themselves and the brown trout fly feeding and one of Australia's beautiful but lesser known native rodents, Rakali (intelligent semi aquatic water rat who's scientific name translates to golden -bellied water mouse). One of Australia's two aquatic mammals, the platypus being the other. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. IF NO CHEMICAL TOILET, DIG A HOLE AT LEAST 30CM DEEP . There is access to a drinking water supply (mountain river water), or you can bring your own water. After heavy rain you may need to boil/filter for drinking. You will need a 4WD to access the campsites closest to the river as there is a shallow gully crossing. Camper trailer or off road pop up campers will be able to negoiate the tracks. Good clearance necessary to pass over one gully crossing. Dogs are welcome, however, we do run sheep in an adjoining paddock so they need to stay close to your camp. Kids aged 16 and under camp for free. There is a dedicated campfire pit so you can stay warm on chilly evenings (please check to see if there is a seasonal fire ban in place). Fire wood can be provided - chainsaws are permitted but be mindful of structures that are animal habitats. We loved camping here. Perfect for exploring the area and chilling at the same time. It feels more like a rural campsite than a bush camp being a stone’s throw away from the main road. Super friendly and easy going hosts. Respectful owners mindful of our dog’s needs. Enjoyed chatting with both Julie and David. Dunny is exactly that - a dunny! But we didn’t mind. And our pooch loved the place. Stunning views and amazing campfire set up, both for warming up and cooking. So much wood provided, makes the nightly fee very much worth it. Be wary of ticks, we saw several and I got bitten but we were prepared and so wasn’t an issue. A great experience and wonderful hosts!

Short walk down to pristine , private , river with afew chairs. I can confirm there are definitely platerpus in the river. She acceptes pets , I had my dog and bird with me. There alot of wallies, roos, rabbits ect. So it your dog likes to chase, keep them on a leash. There is little phone coverage, my navman took me to the place down the road but the place is well signed. Trying and fuel up well before you hit the gravel road. But overall a beautiful place to camp 5 stars.

We had the most beautiful short stay at Julie and Dave’s campsite with our two small children. The property is incredible, so private and peaceful. It was so nice to stay at such a well appointed and maintained site. Our children absolutely adored the animals, and a huge thank you to Dave for so generously showing us around! So much fun! Already looking forward to returning!

Lovely campsite!! We were lucky to have it on our own and were able to camp on the grassier side. Definitely recommend ordering the trailer load of wood! Totally worth the money. Was nice too that the tide kept coming in & out so we were able to actually swim in the river. The host made us feel so welcomed and gave us total privacy too. We can’t wait to come back, the dogs loved it too!

Super happy Michael and his family were super welcoming and accommodating. We were met with a carton of eggs and escorted to our campsite to which was clean and comfortable. Michael provided us with a map which allowed us to freely explore on our motorcycles. Would definitely recommend staying here and will absolutely be back.

We loved camping at Glennbrooke River Camp. The campsite was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with plenty of privacy between sites. Enjoyed the bush walk to the Olive Grove and swam in the river. Brooke was an amazing host, and we appreciate all her efforts and allowing us to stay on their property. I would highly recommend this camp for anyone looking to great camping experience. Definitely will be back.
