About Rifle Falls State Park

With lush Jolly Green Giant vegetation kept moist by the spray of a triple waterfall, Rifle Falls State Park provides scenery that is largely unmatched. Heck, even Hollywood wants to get up in here and they do. Photographers and movie crews have been known to make the trip to capture the landscape and revel in this park’s glory.

Summers here can get busy with many campers and picnickers coming to explore limestone caves under the waterfalls, so come early and avoid being turned away by park staff. The park is even used for many weddings and special events.

Great family friendly campground. Hike in tent camping adjacent to parking with wagons available to tote gear to site. Most sites are adjacent to a creek so you are lulled to sleep by the sound of rushing water. Plenty of room between sites and all are nestled in the trees with plenty of shade.
Numerous hikes ranging from 1-3 miles, all of which are perfect for families. Plenty of wildlife with deer, fox, moose, chipmunk, turkey and more.
Reservations a must.

All the walk-in sites are amazing. #14 where we stayed had an amazing sheltered canopy for rain and heat. RV sites are a bit tight. Take the trail to the walk-in sites up to top of waterfalls. Stop by Harvey Gap State Park and stroll around the reservoir.
