A lovely magical adventure
Our two nights at Salmon Creek were our two favourite all around nights of our trip. We were greeted by Julie, the wonderful host, and her beautiful family of 6 kiddos, and we later met her husband Patrick. We got to pick our own tent site and customize it, and the kids were just as involved with making it feel like home as we were. The piece of land is full of room for adventures, and is the perfect location for exploring Portland and camping all at once! We laughed a lot and felt safe, taken care of, and were provided all the basic amenities INCLUDING a very quiet nature-noise only site. Finally, we were given the grandiose honour of naming our tent site as we were a part of its’ creation. If you visit the MJ Nestle cedar canopy inn, you will not be disappointed.
Julie was wonderful. The site & property we're absolutely beautiful, serene & peaceful. Amenities we're good. She provided the necessaries. Composting toilet, assistance, easy to talk with and to. Definitely a spot to stay. Also, quick to make things right.
Julie is so sweet and considerate. My boyfriend and I arrived very late after a 10+ hour drive and she made sure that not only were we comfortable and happy with our spot but she also called a bit ahead of time to ask if we wanted an area closer to our car- so thoughtful. Julie and her daughter Ellie walked us to our site, oriented us to the property and even gave us some granola bars! Super sweet! We had one of the best nights' sleep in a while (slept for 11 hours lol).
I would definitely come back and stay when back toward Portland. Absolutely worth it!
Cute little forest site not far from the creek. The site is a little more open than I expected & you can see the main house from the toilet area. Since there are numerous trails around it I imagine during busy season it would be even more of a privacy issue. Overall decent little spot for a night.
