Camp far from chickens
Over all we had a good time. Our kids loved playing with the host’s kids and seeing all their pets. The spots down by the trees were nice and the ports potty was clean. Our first night we were closer to the chickens and they have multiple roosters so we were up at 3:30am which we definitely didn’t plan on. The lower camp site at the far end of the property was nice and private but there was a ton on poison oak in the trees.

Hidden Gem 10/10
My girlfriend, daughter and I camped here this weekend and had the BEST experience! Amy was super friendly and helpful, the property is absolutely stunning and the animals were so cute (shoutout to John Dog, who made best friends with our dog while we stayed); we even took home a fresh carton of eggs and Amy’s fresh baked sourdough! Our spot was perfect, we had plenty of privacy, lots of space and a fire pit! The portable toilet was kept nice and clean, always had TP. The property was easy to find, and close to all the fun hikes and markets we wanted to hit in Hood River and surrounding areas to the campsite, but still tucked up high enough on the mountain to get great views. We felt safe and so welcome, we absolutely will be back again!

The Farm was great there was lots of room and it was very peaceful. Great location close to the gorge and lots of outdoor activities to do.
Thanks for sharing Roots family.

Great for an impromptu get-away!
My friend and I just wrapped up an impromptu girls weekend, and this location was perfect! We were the only guests this weekend so we had our pick of the litter when it came to spots. We opted to park up on the hill near the porta-potty (super clean), which was super flat for our cars. The hosts, kids and other full-time residents were beyond friendly and helpful. They helped us move firewood and a firepit to our site, and were available for help if needed but respected our space and largely left us alone. They do have a few dogs that roam the property to protect their goats and chickens, but they were well-trained and kept their space from us and our dog. The property had views of Adams which was lovely for sunset and sunrise. It was also fun to wake up to wild turkeys gobbling up a storm. We would camp here again.

Great, quiet place to stay overnight before hiking Coyote Wall the next morning. I came in after dark, had a lovely little campfire with the wood Eric graciously prepped on a wagon for me, and woke up in beautiful countryside with trees and a view of the mountain. A delightful spot!
