Description

Hidden amongst the expansive agricultural crops that line Harrison Lake, the like-named campground is not only rich in nitrogen; it’s frivolous with outdoor activities. Once you’re officially tuckered-out from canoeing on the one-hundred-and-fifty-acre lake or sore from the shore-hugging hikes, you’ll be able to rest those sore appendages within the shaded confines of your primitive (or electrically-fed) campsite.

Southern loop is right on a main road and you have to walk around to the northern loop to get to running water. Bathrooms and showers on the northern loop are decent but not spectacular. The view over the lake from the northern side is really beautiful. Although much busier, I'd recommend staying on the northern loop. If the southern loop were full, campsites are very close together and exposed but on a weeknight there were only people in 2 other sites and honestly being on such a main road and with so few others around, I felt a bit uncomfortable as a woman camping alone. Bugs were really terrible in mid-August.
