Our 300-acre off-grid property backs onto the Barmah National Park. This forest, together with the adjoining Millewa forest, forms the largest River Red Gum forest in the world - it's majestic to explore. Our property is just 500 meters from the Murray River. From your camp, roughly a 1 kilometre walk through the forest. On our boundary is Backwater Creek, which fills with water when the Murray River is up. NOTE: Creek is often dry. It has water in it after environmental flows of the Murray. This can happen several times a year and the water lasts a few months. If you have any questions about water levels please ask before booking as it might be dry when you're here. We're located just 5kms north-east of Moama, where you can hop aboard a paddle-steamer, visit waterside wineries and soak up rich riverboat heritage. We offer a few large, beautiful, basic bush camping sites (the best kind!) in amongst 50 acres of bushland, with 100's of meters and trees between you and other potential campers. The rest of our property is used for cropping and sheep. Campers must take out what you bring in. Mobile phone service and internet is usually reliable, though with long weekends and summer school holidays the service seems to disappear! Completely. We suggest downloading (before leaving home) your Spotify faves and Maps for this area then you can't go wrong. *Please feel free to book anyone in your possie that is under 18 as a child.

Big Bama Bush Camp is nestled in the bush around a beautiful natural pond that can sometimes be dry and other times brimming full. Location is tucked away offering plenty of privacy, 300 meters from our house and 150 meters from No 3 camp site. . It's ideal for a larger group with multiple families or friends having some quality camping time together! There is room for 5 or more caravans to spread out through the bush. Please feel free to book any one under 18 as a child when you make your booking. We are happy for you to enjoy music but please be considerate to our other camp site if its occupied. This camping spot looks out across Back Water Creek to Bama Forest. Absolutely awesome for walks. Back Water Creek doesn't have permanent water in it, only when the river is running high. The Murray is about a 20 minute walk from here along the creek. Big Bama Bush Camp is complete with it's own cold water outdoor tree shower.. (in summer the water is warm and can be very hot from the poly pipe) and concrete cattle trough which makes for a perfect paddling pool or place to hang your legs in the water while enjoying a beer on a hot day. It can be filled with river water that we have piped down to the camp. We have a flushing toilet and hot shower shared between our two camp sites. It is about a two minute walk. Friendly dogs are welcome, on a leash . Please clean up after them :) The ground surface is dirt with plenty of leaf litter and bark lying around. The site is quite flat, though roughly 50mm of levelling might be required.

No 3 Is nestled amongst the trees looking over the Back Water Creek. With our cropping paddock one side of you and the Bama National park the other. Walk to the Murray river is under 2km one way. Also a nice drive if you leave our property and drive the in forest on the designated tracks. The river is ever changing, though last time we visited opposite where the Goulburn meets the Murray, was a lovely sandy swimming spot. There is a toilet and hot shower about 100 meters from camp and is shared with the Big Bama camp site. Also an outdoor shower for No3, right in the camp. A site toilet can hired from Echuca Central Hire if you are not keen on the little walk :). About $160 for a weekend. They can usually deliver. Friendly dogs are welcome. Please clean up after the fur babies. The ground surface is dirt with plenty of leaf litter and bark lying around. The site is quite flat.

Little Bell is a 4 metre canvas bell tent, the only glamping experience we offer at Tooranie. Tucked in amongst beautiful bushland on the edge of Bama Forest and Back Water Creek. Back Water Creek forms our boundary and makes the perfect walking track to the Murray, a 20 minute walk through beautiful Red Gum forest. The wild life is abundant. Aside from kangaroos and black wallabies, we've spotted goannas, turtles and beautiful birds and owls too many to mention. You are in for a treat if the creek is full, the chorus of frogs is an absolute delight! Little Bell is complete with a queen size bed, beautiful linen.  And all to yourself only 15 meters from your tent, a rustic, with a modern twist, bathroom with hot shower and flushing toilet.  Little Bell at Tooranie is a great location to relax, unwind, and take in the serenity. It is also a perfect base for exploring the region. There is so much on offer close by and great events, we have the Echuca Blues Festival, River Boats Music Festival, Pop and Pour, Moama Lights and the list goes on. Little Bell is a pet free camp. And unfortunately we are unable to host children at Little Bell. Please see our other listing's for family friendly options. Fire wood provided Little Bell is an eco friendly off grid glamping set up. We use solar power for our 12v system. The toilet is flushing and both shower and toilet use river water.  We supply the following: Rain water for drinking/cooking Power for charging phones  Gas BBQ Kettle for tea and coffee Small fridge All bedding Camp kitchen Check in is 2 o'clock but are more than happy to welcome you earlier if we had no other guests.  Please message or call and we'll arrange if possible :)

I loved tent camping at the no. 3 site. It was peaceful and secluded from the other campsites. The facilities were really well maintained, and Kerry made us feel very welcome when we arrived. It was also a great spot to camp with dogs, with no livestock near the campsite. Would definitely recommend!

Really well set up. We met friends 'halfway' from Adelaide (and their 2 little ones) and we all had a blast. Beautiful countryside, plenty of kindling around to scavenge as well as firewood available, and best of all a proper flushing loo - clean and comfy and it just added that extra bit of convenience to our stay. Kerry came down on arrival and popped past part way through our stay - she's a gem! Really friendly and just a good human!

Our group loved this campsite, it was private and secluded, bathroom facilities were rustic but clean and well designed! Kerry was amazing, a great host - she came to check on us a few times which was welcomed. Thanks for a spectacular stay - we'll be back!

We had a beautiful weekend and enjoyed the peaceful layout of this site. The hot shower and toilet were set up in a way that was in line with nature but at the same time making the stay more comfortable. The place was spotless and we loved the fact that it had running river water and an outdoor shower. Make sure to take mozzie repellant.

This property is absolutely incredible! We were greeted on arrival and given a run down of the facilities (which are beautiful!). The hosts were the best I’ve ever had on a Hipcamp stay. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get away to enjoy peace and quiet with ample space. Our kids and dog loved it!

We had the best time at Kerry and Ben’s place. Kerry came to check in on us when we were setting up, and she was very welcoming. She gave us a tip on where to swim in the Murray which was a lovely spot. The camp site was lovely and flat, and we loved the little tub - good for the dog and us on an hot summer’s day. The outdoor shower did not disappoint. It has been well designed with just enough privacy but also an amazing view. We appreciated Kerry and Ben going above and beyond to ensure we had the best trip to Echuca/ Moama. We will be back :)

No. 3 was very lovely, set in a quiet corner of Kerry and Ben's property. The creek was dry when we visited (mid Feb) but we cycled down the creek bed to the Murray for a swim. Great as a base camp with Echuca-Moama and Barmah park nearby. The shower was an absolute delight to have! There were many small touches that made the site feel comfortable without taking away from the natural beauty. Have you ever been able to see the milky way while sitting on a flush toilet? This is your chance!

This huge site is suitable for a large group. It’s far enough away from the other campsite that you can make some noise. We enjoyed feeling like we were alone. It’s very close to both Moama and Echuca so trips for supplies were easy. It is dusty bush camping though so be prepared. Kerry was a lovely and responsive host.

Great little quiet spot. Shower and toilet are the best you’ll find. Host was responsive and communicative. Moama Beach 13 mins away by car was so good for a swim. No water in creek next to site during our stay due to the heat.

Loved our stay at the Big Barma campsite. Great area with the added bonus of good amenities (I was very happily surprised by the hot shower!). A good spot for four of us and a dog, but would be very suitable for a much larger group. Thanks Kerry and Ben!

Totally awesome glamping tent setup. Super comfy bed and just the right amount of creature comforts to feel right at home, but still feel like you’re getting away from ‘it all’. Loved the thoughtful fairy lights and outdoor bath. Added to that magical factor. Kerry was also super communicative and flexible, gave great reccos for things to do in town. 5 stars.

Great site - wish we could stay longer. Kerry was very friendly and welcoming. Peaceful setting.. loved the big old trees, kookaburras and watching the squawking cockatoos with a cuppa by the campfire. We were the only ones there but there is enough space between campsites - I don’t think you’d hear or see them anyway if you’re looking for seclusion. Shower and toilet were great. Short 8 min drive into Moama if you need to pick up drinks/supplies, swim at Moama beach or go to the pub! Moama has a market on every second Sunday - worth a look if you’ve timed it well. Cheers

A slice of heaven in the trees

Kerry was so welcoming and wonderful! Even when I turned into the wrong property despite some very clear instructions! The campsite was rustic, quiet, full of birds (Sacred Kingfishers, Shrike Thrush and of course Cockatoos) and the odd roo popping in and out of view across the creek. But the shower - THE SHOWER!! - instant hot water, private setting and a lovely view from the little window; it was not just a shower, it was an EXPERIENCE! And after days on the road, completely needed. Then the campfire brazier at the site was so wonderful. There was ample wood to be gathered from the beautiful gums around us and the combination of crackling fire, birdsong and the sound of the wind through the trees meant I had a relaxing dinner, early night, a restful sleep and a beautiful morning wake-up. I will definitely come back the next time I pass by. I enthusiastically recommend Tooranie, regardless of whether you are after a quiet getaway or a place to bring the family. I only wish that I’d had longer to stay and explore!

The hosts were amazing really great communication and made us feel welcome. There was plenty of space at the campsite and beautiful walks and bird life in the forest which ran along the property. The kids enjoyed playing games and swinging in the hammock. The amenities were really handy, hot shower and toilet were clean and well kept. We will definitely be back.
