The Spot was absolutely gorgeous. We loved being right on the lake and the privacy of it. Yes, we could hear the road and an occasional train, but that didn't really matter much to us. The sunsets were stunning and the porta potty was the cleanest one I have ever seen.

We had an amazing stay at this private spot. The site is spacious, level, and easily fit our Ram ProMaster and F-250 with plenty of room left over. It felt private, comfortable, and well cared for.
The host was fantastic—very communicative, friendly, and quick to answer any questions. The clean bathroom was a huge plus, and we really appreciated all the extras like the Weber grill, picnic table, chairs, and the abundance of shade throughout the day.
The fire pit area quickly became our favorite spot. Watching the sunset over the lake from there each evening was absolutely beautiful. The easy access for canoeing and paddling made getting out on the water a breeze.
Even our dogs had a great time. They loved exploring the area, lounging in the shade, and hanging out by the lake with us.
A special shout-out to the fly shop just up the road. The owner was incredibly helpful, getting us set up with the right gear and sharing some great local knowledge, including the best times and spots to fish.
If you’re looking for a relaxing Lake Almanor camping experience with thoughtful amenities, plenty of space, beautiful sunsets, and a great host, this spot is a real gem. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Great Lakeside Spot

We had a really nice stay at Turner Beach! The area was beautiful and spacious, with plenty of room for our group to relax and enjoy the outdoors. There was lots of firewood available, and having the water vessels available to use for free was a really nice touch. The dock was definitely one of our favorite parts and made enjoying the lake super convenient.
The only downsides were that the site was a little closer to the road than we expected, so there was some road noise. There was also a nearby train that we could hear occasionally. I may have missed it in the listing description, so just something to be aware of if you’re looking for complete peace and quiet.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again!

The site was absolutely perfect for our group. It had everything we needed and then some. Our whole group loved waking up to the lake each morning and watching the sunset each evening. Lynne was very responsive with all my messages and reassured me there would be plenty of room for our group with two smaller trailers, several tents and a boat. 10/10 recommend!

We loved tent camping at Turner Beach! It was a spacious property and we loved the easy and private access to the lake. Only draw back was occasional road noise. Lynne was quick to respond to our questions as well. We will be back next summer!

We absolutely loved our stay! This is such a fun, unique lakefront campsite. The dock and all the water toys kept everyone entertained for hours, and the sunsets were simply spectacular. The site is nicely shaded, and we were pleasantly surprised by how few bugs and critters there were. It also had the cleanest porta potty we’ve ever seen, and having firewood available onsite was super convenient.
Lynne was amazing to work with. She was welcoming, responsive, and made the whole experience easy.
Yes, there is some road noise, but the owners are completely upfront about it. For us, the beautiful setting, private waterfront, and all the fun amenities far outweighed it. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

Another Amazing Stay!

This was our fourth time staying here, and once again we had a fantastic time! We keep coming back because every visit gets even better. We really appreciate all the little improvements they've made over the years. The added water toys were a huge bonus, and we loved that the paddle boat was already hooked up at the dock so we didn't have to haul it down ourselves. It's those thoughtful details that make the experience so enjoyable. We can't wait to come back again next year!

PERFECT place for water play!

This is our second time going to Tuner Beach!
We love the easy access to the water and semi private feel. There is a wonderful fire pit and a clean and maintained port-a-potty. Its nice to have a small gated dog area for those who need it. There are so many great water toys at this location: canoes, paddle boards, peddle boats, a great fishing dock, and a floating island. The floating island is the main reason we went back because my kids (7&15) love it!

This spot is better set up for tent camping.
Getting our camping trailer is difficult to get into the spot. The driveway is a sharp turn into the driveway and the neighbors seem to take up a decent amount of the access into the driveway.
If you are a light/moderate sleeper, this location does not do well for those who need quite. Its next to main road and is very loud because traffic speed limit is 50MPH. This time is there was a lot of logging trucks traveling. There is also a train (no crossings, so no train horn) but we love trains in our family and found it fun!
We will be back as fire season allows for this family! :)

This was our second stay at Turner Beach. We absolutely love this site. It’s great for kids, with an included inflatable island, kayaks and paddle boards, there are plenty of lake activities to keep the whole family busy. We are eager to return again next summer!

I booked this site in February as the last leg of a six week journey with friends. Unfamiliar with Hip Camp communications, I did not see further communications from owner, and therefore the full charges. I thought the fee per night accommodated up to three trailers (spendy at 150 per night). Apparently, there are additional charges for another trailer. So now, having left the site which was beautiful, I have been "reported" to Hip Camp and am being called a thief and dishonest by the owner. I am trying to figure out how to send AN ADDIOTIONAL 160 dollars to pay this personality disordered owner. I probably never try Hip Camp again. So sad

Heaven by the water.

The place was beautiful and spacious ! The amenities there like the Kayak and paddle boat was a nice gesture. Just had to clean a little dirt off but it was nice to be on the water! The weather was a bit rainy the time we had went but still had an amazing time ! Definitely would be coming back!

My boyfriend and our 2 dogs LOVED camping at Turner beach! We loved fishing on the dock, kayaking, and taking in the stunning views of the lake all day long. The restroom onsite was clean on our arrival and the picnic table and lounge chairs onsite were a great bonus! Our dogs are extra adventurous and found some low spots/gaps in the fence and their paws got tired from the rocky ground, but that didn’t take away from the overall incredible experience!

I can’t say enough good things about this campsite. Privacy, space, views, cleanliness, a responsive and kind host…it really checks all the boxes. Our family can’t wait to book this spot again. The only downside might be the noise from the road, we are easy going and it didn’t phase us but if you’re someone who can’t handle a little road noise then this would probably bug you, to us it was well worth the incredible benefits the site provided. 10 out of 10 for sure!

Lynne’s land is such a peaceful and welcoming place to camp. The property is well cared for. The views are gorgeous, and it’s quiet enough . Lynne was responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
If you’re looking for a spot that’s both serene and inviting, this is a wonderful choice. You can expect a safe, well-kept, and very relaxing experience here.

Lynne was a fantastic host! On night one we had a mishap with our air mattress and she met us at her shop to fill it up and even loaded us up with free fire wood! She is an amazing lady!as for the campsite it self it was gorgeous and very secluded. You can hear the traffic but I was able to tune it out. I’d say the only downside was all the rocks my pups had a hard time walking on them to get to the water being they are all over 10 it was rough, I just wish there was more dirt, but hey if that’s the only downside I’ll take it. This place was near perfect. The porta potty was spotless when we got there and the campsite was very well kept! The sunset was phenomenal and we even had a few thunderstorms in the distance and that was a great sight! And again Lynne was the best host I’ve ever had! 10 out of 10 would go again.

Great spot on the lake

Lynne's spot on Lake Almanor was fantastic. We appreciated so much having our own campsite rather than being in a large, noisy campground with no privacy. On one side of the site is a house (with its own dock), but there are no windows overlooking the site. The other side of the site is just woods, and the beach on that side stretches along quite a ways with no houses or docks. Beach and in the water consists of medium size rocks - bring water shoes. The set up at the site was amazing: fire pit, very clean porta-potty (ladies, send your husbands out there even if you have a trailer!), paddle boards, canoe, paddle boat, kayak, picnic table, lounge chairs, float island, even a dog pen.). If you are bringing your own large boat or renting one, please note that starting around 2:00 the wind comes up and the lake gets very choppy until well into the evening (at least when we were there in mid-August). You will not want to tie your boat to the dock in those conditions (you can briefly tie-up to unload though). Use the mooring bouys off of the dock, and bring your own float to get out there and back if you are not comfortable with the boats at the site. There is a long hook at the site, very much needed to hook the buoy in rough chop. We unfortunately did not see the hook at first, and my husband spent a merry time hanging over the boat trying to catch the buoy in very rough chop.

Super spot. Kayak, paddle board and paddle boat were there. Dock was amazing. Hardest part was getting in and out of the driveway on the busy road, but we got over it because everything else was amazing!

The location is undeniably scenic—private beach, great views of Mt. Lassen, and a nice selection of water toys. Our group enjoyed the natural beauty and the space to spread out.
However, the hosting style felt overly transactional. Nearly every detail came with an extra charge, and flexibility was limited despite earlier suggestions that timing might be more relaxed. Communication was prompt but focused heavily on fees and rules, which made the experience feel more like a business exchange than a welcoming getaway.
Also worth noting: there’s quite a bit of road noise, which detracts from the otherwise peaceful setting.
If you're comfortable with a strict structure and paying for every add-on, the site delivers on scenery. Just go in with clear expectations about the tone and logistics.
