We loved this campsite! It’s private with a beautiful hike down to the lake. We loved having the convenience of water and electricity hookups! We’ll definitely be back.

The space was really clean and nice, and my family and I loved having a space all to ourselves. The walk to the lake is doable, but if walking isn’t an option, they provide a day pass to the lake, which I thought was awesome. The host was also very attentive to my questions and responded quickly, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, we had a great experience at the campground and would definitely recommend it!

This campsite was perfect for my large group! I had the best time celebrating my 30 birthday. We had plenty of space and even brought an RV down! Great hosts!
What an incredible campsite for a family reunion! The location could not be better for enjoying Jenkinson Lake and lakes and hiking up highway 50. The site has everything you need and more: we loved having a sink and outdoor shower, a fire pit with a grill for cooking, and even electricity. Thought the hot weather would be challenging, but most of the tent spots were in the shade. Loved hearing the owls hoot too!
A great site for a group of friends. We didn't hear a lot of other people, and no one was bothered by us. Good amount of shade in the camping areas for the hot days, but clearing in group area for sun. We had plenty of room, and it was only about a 15 minute walk to the lake, and a 10 minute drive. Sink and portapotty were clean and well maintained. Host was in touch with us right away and asked us to let them know if we needed anything, but otherwise left us to our own. Overall, a great site that we'll likely come back to!

Had a great time camping at Gold Ridge! So much space and so close to the beautiful lake and waterfall. Felt perfectly in touch (with wifi and service) while still being in nature. The lake pass that is provided was super handy and made everything that much easier. Jason said hello and goodbye and was super friendly. Will definitely be coming back! Thank you!

Wow, what an incredible weekend! The land had plenty of space for our group of 14, and we were even able to set up an outdoor sauna. Jason was super welcoming and gave us the freedom and support to make my partner’s birthday really special. He also provided a lake parking pass for our group (parking would have been $16 otherwise), which was a huge help. The walk to the lake was beautiful, and we had an absolute blast. Highly recommend this space for a big group!

Perfect space for family camping trip. Water, electricity, and wifi available 🤩 Jason, our host, was very accommodating and answered any questions we had. This spot is also close to a really nice lake! About 15-20 min walk to the lake or 5min by car.
What a great campground! Plenty of space for you and your friends to set up tents with enough space in between for privacy even! Porta-potty was clean and well-maintained. Plenty of branches and wood you can grab around for a campfire, and you can even buy some from Jason if you prefer the convenience. Easy to find and great communication with Jason as well. And access to the cute lake is definitely a plus!
Love the outdoor shower as well but the addition of a small curtain for extra privacy would be extra perfect!
All in all it was a great home base for our Winnemuca lake hike; highly recommended!

Jason was an awesome host and the site was great. Plenty of space for people to spread out their tents. We had about 10, feel like you could have at least 20 easy. Plenty of firewood available, ac power, water, clean porta potty also available. The fire pit is kinda close to one of the houses on the property but it doesn’t feel intrusive at all. All the tent spots are very secluded. Jason’s lake permit turned out to be super handy. Even when day use was full, we were let right in with the pass. Jason was super helpful with giving tips on where to go on the lake or nearby restaurants etc. We had a great time at the lake during the day and partied through the night at the campsite. Jason was so chill and friendly. If you have a large group of people you’re trying to get together for a camping party, this is a great spot to do it at.
What a great three days we spent onJason’s land. I really needed a restful mini vacation with my dog, and Jason’s policy of renting to only one group at a time meant we had the entire campground to ourselves. The woods are beautiful and peaceful, and they provide just enough in the way of amenities to make camping really easy and comfortable. One note for those traveling with dogs: the lake that you can hike to doesn’t allow dogs to swim, so while it’s a great hike and a beautiful lake, don’t count on it for relief from the heat for your dog if you camp in hot weather. We drove an hour to South Lake Tahoe one day when it was projected to be 93 in Pollock Pines.
Jason was the best host ever, I never leave reviews but the way he went out of his way to make us feel welcome and at home he deserves 10000/100 review. The campsite was great, tons of different spaces for tents we had 13 tents and our group had about 20 adults plus a few kids and it was more than enough space. Not too far from the lake, great outdoor space for hiking as well. There was showers, bathroom, fire pit, fire wood, he provided trash bags, toilet paper and so much more. If you’re looking for a great camping space for a large group this is the place and Jason is the best!
I love camping on Jason’s land. It feels very private and safe. I can leave all of my equipment there and go to the lake without worrying about whether my gear will be there when I return.
The hose and outlet right near the camping table is super convenient. I also appreciated the firewood provided so we didn’t have to haul any with us.
However, the best thing about camping on Jason’s land is the host. Forgot something? Just ask, he might have it. Need local information? He has that too. And he is very easy to communicate with. I definitely recommend camping at Jason’s place.

We had such an amazing stay at Jason and Steve’s camping spot! Although we arrived pretty late due to heavy traffic, Jason went above and beyond and even had a cozy campfire waiting for us – such a thoughtful and kind gesture that made us feel so welcome right away.
Both Jason and his Uncle Steve were incredibly helpful, friendly, and easy to talk to. It was truly a pleasure to meet them. The campsite itself was clean, beautiful, and had everything we needed.
The surrounding forest and the lake are absolutely magical – peaceful and full of natural beauty. We left feeling relaxed, happy, and very grateful for the experience.
We will definitely be coming back – this place and these hosts are something special. Thank you again, Jason and Steve!

This campsite was awesome. There were tons of shady spots to set up tents. Plenty of space around the fire pit too, so it never felt cramped and made hanging out really comfortable.
The area is super pretty, with tall trees all around and a super peaceful vibe. And it's just a short hike down to Jenkinson Lake. The water was nice and cool, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. A perfect spot to chill or take a swim. We brought some collapsible kayaks and were able to paddle around the the little islands out there.
At night, the sky is insane. A million stars twinkling overhead. You can see the milky way. Absolutely stunning.
Jason was super cool and easygoing. His directions were clear and easy to follow, which made getting there no problem at all. He even let us use his parking pass for the lake, which made it super easy to get the kayaks on the water.
We were too busy have such a good time that we ended up taking so few pictures, but I feel like even the best pictures wouldn't do it justice. Easily a 10 out of 10. Would totally recommend.

I booked this site for two nights, but we left a day early. I could smell the portapotty from the group fire ring area. It smelled like urine cake or some other chemical. It also wasn't cleaned out when I arrived at 5pm. It was cleaned by the next morning, but it should have been cleaned, before arrival for the price that is charged. Also, the area by the fire ring isn't level, unless you sit on the premade benches which are back too far from the fire. The pics are misleading and make it look like the fire ring area is much more expansive and more level than it actually is.
We loved staying at Jason’s property. We were a group of 6 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs. We had all the sites (about 7) to ourselves. There were plenty of flat areas for tents, a nice fire pit area, one porta potty at the top of the hill of campsites, running water from a hose and a spicket, a sink with optional hot water, room for one car at each campsite, and it was very close distance to the lake which was gorgeous. It was a great amount of space for our group and felt private since we had booked the whole place. If we were to go back though I’m not sure it’d be ideal for us with other people at each spot all sharing the one sink and toilet. You can see the hosts house from the fire pit and upper campsites, which wasn’t a problem for us since we set up at the site farthest down the hill but if booking just one site that’s something to keep in mind. Jason was a great host, very kind and generous and great at communicating and responding quickly. Overall, we’d absolutely stay here again if we were the only guests. :)

Second experience camping here! It's only been improved on since the last time i visited--plenty of flat camping spots to set up, clean, with lots of options for shade or sun. And convenient picnic tables through multiple sites. We totally appreciated having a powerful long hose for piece of mind, and power too--ask the guys who needed to power their CPAPs and didn't have the means to bring heavy battery packs; they deserve to sleep easy too!
You'll have a night sky full of stars, and will be plenty quiet and private, even though it's very easy to get to! We forgot a few things and had to go to the safeway nearby a few times, but it was easy for us to go back and forth, and it was surreal to experience how isolated it all felt for being such short drives. It's a great place to set up base for deeper trips to the lake or mountains!
Finally, Jason the host is great, the only kind of guy you want to work with on a website like this. He's got an easy-going personality to work with and responsive to your questions and needs if you have them. but all the same he's hands off and invisible when you're onsite and he will only check in with you if you explicitly ask for him to visit. Or, if you're like me and get your 20 footer stuck on the road, he'll help you out without batting an eye. Thanks Jason!

This place is amazing! Really cool group area with campfire and table. Multiple tent sites on the property. The nearby lake is gorgeous and there some fun hiking straight from the site. Jason is super cool and is a fantastic host. There were 9 of us and there was plenty of room, we had a blast.
This was my second summer visiting Jason’s little slice of Heaven, and I can confirm it will not be my last. It was my birthday weekend, and what better place to celebrate than at Gold Ridge!! Jason is an incredibly hospitable host :) I’ve read over some of the other reviews, and I feel like that don’t do this experience justice, but I will take any opportunity to combat negative comments with my positive feedback! This place is my favorite. It gives me and my huge group of friends the ability to camp, be a little louder, and make tons of memories! Yes, there are bugs and mosquitoes, but Jason ensure we were well informed to bring bug spray! Anyway, rant over, I love this place and will return as long as Jason will have us!
My family had such a great time at Jason's Land. The property was extremely clean, including the restroom and washing stations. Gorgeous scenery, beautiful trees, and you really get the full experience of camping without being stacked on top of other campers! Highly recommend. Thanks for a great experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our experience was fantastic. Everything was as expected: easy to access, level parking spots for our camper, clean porto-potty, easy to use sink and shower. 20 minute walk down the hill to the lake or the hosts graciously lent us a day use car pass for the lake recreation area. Highly recommend!

As a seasoned camper with nearly a decade of experience, this was my inaugural visit to Hipcamp. The campsite, nestled within a private expanse of land, offers solitude for those who relish being alone with nature. Not a single neighboring camper disrupts the tranquility.
However, I must express my sole complaint: the uneven firepit. A level firepit would have allowed us to gather comfortably around the flames and savor our campfire moments. Despite this minor inconvenience, everything else about the site was exceptional.
This was my group’s second stay at Jason’s land. We enjoyed the privacy and the location so much the first time that we all wanted to return this year. Jason once again outdid himself, going above and beyond expectations to be an excellent host.
Pros:
The host was great and very accommodating. The site had plenty of space for tents and provided plenty of shade. It was a beautiful space.
Cons:
It is not flat. There are flat spots to put tents but the entire thing is on a hill. The bugs are very prevalent, and we all got many mosquito bites. I wouldn't say, for the price, the privacy was what I would have expected. It is technically a private site, however it is very close to other large camp grounds and it is right next to a house where people live. Additionally, if you do the walk to the lake, you absolutely will run into many other people and dogs (even horses in our case). The only reason we book expensive hip camps, rather than cheaper traditional campsites, is because we want our reactive dogs to have a positive stress free experience. I wouldn't say this was a good option for that. If you aren't worried about that, then I think it would be a great spot.
