Welcome to Waterfall Camp where you'll enjoy a breathtaking and unique view of the "sunset Waterfall" located on the South Fork Skykomish River in Index WA , in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2.

A medium-sized and private setup, with shared access to the river water and breathtaking mountain views, this is a wonderful getaway to kick back and relax after your day of adventures, or just to escape the city rush for a day or 2.

The campsite is easily accessible but an SUV or AWD vehicle is recommended under snow conditions, the camp has a couple of trees to navigate around to access the best spots.

Multiple firepits, 4 wood chairs, toilets, and 2 picnic tables are available.

There is no running water or electricity. Be sure to bring your tent, firewood, and plenty of water.

You might spot some wildlife including eagles, deers and salmon during the Fall. Don't forget your camera, binoculars and camping chairs to take in the awesome views. Local places to hike include Wallace Falls, Sunset Falls, Lake Serene, Bridal Veil Falls trail ( literally 5 minutes away from us), or maybe you like rock climbing, white water rafting, kayaking or fishing. All are available if you drive to Index; located just minutes away.

Located at the very end of a private community area (you will need the code) , this place offers a very peaceful setting, including the rushing and relaxing sound of the waterfall and the occasional whistle of a train. You might actually just sit down and watch the waterfall for a couple of hours before deciding to walk down a 2-minute path to get down to the water. . Approximately 55 miles east of Seattle and 25 miles west of Steven's Pass.

We welcome, tents and campervans, small to medium groups of campers.

We were the first guests at waterfall camp! Great campsite with a lot a little extras that make your stay pleasant. Easy communication and coordination. Amazing views of the waterfalls and mountains. The crown jewel of this place though is the beach down below on the river. Sandy beach and we only saw a few other people while we were there. Cars and neighbors walking dogs etc do pass by occasionally. Highly recommend this little corner of the world!

From the moment we stepped foot at the camp we knew we booked the right site. With the waterfall as backdrop, the camp overlooks the rapids of the Skykomish River below; and even over the roar of the falls you can hear the frogs croaking and the birds tweeting. The location alone is what backpackers spend days searching for.
The camp itself is genuinely the cleanest campsite I have ever been to. There was not a speck of litter in the whole area and the honeybucket was immaculate. Like, truly spotless. The ground is covered in fresh woodchips so you don't accidentally wake anyone up walking to the bathroom at night too.
The site had plenty of seating options, (saving us the trouble of busting out the chairs) and our favorite firepit (out of 3!!) kept us nice and toasty as we watched the stars migrate across the sky behind the mountains above.
We pitched our tent in a small clearing in the trees which is away from the campfires so if your little ones need to go to bed early, they won't be much disturbed. We woke up from possibly the best night's sleep I've ever had while camping. The white noise of the waterfall along with the knowledge that the streetlights would keep most dangerous wildlife away put me right at ease. (Note the streetlights were far enough away that we barely noticed them.)
We took full advantage of the 12pm check out time, lazily letting the sun warm us back up down by the beach where we explored the rocky inlet and dipped our toes into the shallow pools.
We look forward to coming back, hopefully for longer than just a simple overnight so we can really soak up the serenity that Waterfall Camp extrudes.
As for the host, they were excellent with communication and quick to reply.

Seriously, if you've read this whole thing and are still on the fence about this camp, DO IT. I feel extremely lucky to have found this camp on such short notice. It deserves a waiting list.
Also, bring eco friendly toothpaste unless you've always dreamed of spitting into a honeybucket (it's not so bad)

Our tent sitting in front row seats for the sunrise. The camp is right at the edge. The ground felt so stable I still can't believe it. The unobstructed views? Breathtaking.Plenty of space to put up a vehicle-based tent if that's your vibe. There is also space to turn around, you don't have to back in.The falls from the beach, which was about a 250-300m walk down from the camp. (Go out, and left towards the yellow gate)

Beautifully kept campsite, with clean grounds and clean grills, plenty of chairs, convenient solar runner lights along the cliff, and plenty of space! The view was absolutely incredible, and I only regret not staying longer!
