This was such a wonderful experience. After a long day in DC, it was nice to pull into somewhere peaceful and quiet. We had plenty of space to park our car and pitch a tent. Andi & Lindsey kindly offered their fire pit for use. They made sure our area was perfectly clean. We were a bit nervous about camping on someone else’s property but our hosts were kind, generous, and gave us our space.

A lovely place to stay with plenty of room to enjoy their acreage. We evenade friends with the ducks . It's quiet but read the description in full because Google maps will take you to their neighbor not their place.

A perfect combination of near and far! A beautiful setting on well maintained forested property that gives you a sense of seclusion yet has easy access to I-81 and local roads that make stores and restaurants a short ride away. There is plenty of privacy from other campers on grass covered sites with fire rings. The property with open lawn areas and several short trails right on site is quiet and serene.
Hosts Andi & Lindsey are welcoming and accommodating. Andi was very helpful when we needed a hand with our rig and a great example of: “going the extra mile.” Thank you again Andi, you’re a life saver.
Overall, this is a great place for a quick stop over or a time of R & R.

Andi and Lindsey + their kids were amazing hosts and the space was exactly what we were lookinf for. This spot is close to many fun small towns and great hiking spots and breweries.
The property is beautiful and had great trees, fire pit options and access to water.

This is a super chill, quiet spot right off of my route when I blast from NH to NC. My daughter and I have stayed here several times on our travels. The hosts are quick to respond with any questions and even pulled my van out of the site when we were camping in the early spring and it got caught up in the soft ground! Highly recommend 👍

Andi and Lindsey were very accommodating! The spot I had (I believe site #2) was private; surrounded by trees. I had access to complimentary firewood as there is a small rock fire pit, just big enough for a pleasant fire. I camped in a 15 foot folding camper. I would definitely recommend A Slice of Norwegian Woods in Va!

Beautiful site with a secluded feel! Can’t beat it. Firewood available. Property was easy to get to with their directions and Andi and Lindsey were very responsive! Hope to meet them next time.

It was easy to fill out freshwater tank and setup for our one night stay.
Will stay there again when we need to.

Andi and Lindsey have a beautiful little nook right over the border into Virginia, super convenient off Rt 81. The spacious land behind their home is filled with all the sounds of nature and feels secluded and peaceful. Great space for a campfire and plenty of good dry wood which they made available to me for free. Super nice people and super highly recommended!

This is was an amazing getaway for us and the hosts were so welcoming. When we pulled up, we were a little unsure where to go, but Anders and Lindsey met us. They were so nice and accommodating, showed us where to park. It was a nice cleared area with woods all around. They have made trails all through their property which was awesome. Another camper was there on the property already, but we never heard them or saw much of them. Even though there were houses around us and we were near the neighbors chicken pens (they had a rooster. Lol) we still felt very isolated and private. Anders and Lindsey had tons of firewood for us which was great. We will definitely be back again.

Had a great weekend hear quiet. Rode the sxs around put on 3 miles .had a camp fire .we be back .this was are frist hipcamp .we loved it and will try more hopping there all like this one.

Staying at Anders' place was exactly what I needed. It was easy to find and his family greeted me so hospitably, offering the use of their radio flyer wagon, use of the spigot, and as much firewood as I could burn! There was even some wood and a bucket of water up at the site waiting for me when I got up there! The land is beautiful, and Anders and his family have obviously spent a lot of time and energy working on it. Highly recommend.

We had a great stay at Anders. His property is just off of I-81 and easy to find. Anders met us in person and directed us to a very nice private and level spot with a great view. Anders provided us with firewood and rainwater. We were able to fill up our fresh washer tank before taking off. Anders and his wife were a pleasure to meet and we hope to return again. Thanks for hosting us .... 5 starts all around!!

Anders was awesome! He was very polite and friendly. He took us on as a last minute reservation, and made sure to greet us when we got there to give us a tour. His property was beautiful. Lots of trees, and grass, and a garden that filled the area with different variations of green. It was large enough to where you had your own space that was secluded. He provided two different options for fire pits. One for a smaller bonfire, of the ideal backpack camping experience, and one for the larger parties, that had lots of room for a nice big fire ring for however many you brought with you. He provided the firewood, and made sure to provide anything we needed, and let you know that you could make ourselves comfortable. The night was calm and relaxing, with the stars visible to treasure. We sat around the fire for hours, enjoying the ambiance of nature sounds engulfing us. We woke up to a serene morning, picturesque to how every camping trip should start the day. Yoga in the lawn with coffee made, and we were all set to begin our adventure. I would highly recommend staying with Anders if given the opportunity. It was a real pleasure, and I look forward to our next stay!

Such a beautiful and secluded space! The family was very welcoming and accommodating. Felt comfortable and enjoyed the time out under the stars. You will not find a better place at such a value.... period. They invited us to their bon fire in the evening, my wife and I had gone out there for some time away from everything so didnt end up connecting with the hosts but we will for sure next time as they are very friendly and down to earth. Dont miss out on this hidden gem!

Don't follow Google Maps! It will take you to somebody else's home! I arrived late around 10pm and left early at 6am. Anders is very gracious and helped me relocate him late. I had trouble finding the street address he texted me earlier, because I arrived after dark. Nice, quiet place, well-kept. Please have good directions before you arrive, especially if you're arriving after dark like me. Thanks.

Anders and his family were a joy to meet. Their property is a slice of heaven tucked privately at the end of a well maintained road. My stay was enhanced with the tranquility of the land and how beautifully they maintain their very private property....such a special spot!

Our stay at Anders was Awesome! We made a last minute reservation for a 24 ft RV, and Anders and his family were so welcoming, gave us some quick pointers on what to visit in historic Winchester that evening, and helped get set-up. The site is perfectly suitable for RV or tents, beautiful extensive grounds, they even have an MBX trail in their back woods! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to check-out a historic town and still enjoy the Virginia woods, 5 star rating from us!
