Amanda and Steve were very accommodating in letting us check in early and even helped us jump start one of our friend's car that got a flat battery. They were quick to reply to any questions we had! This is the perfect place to go as first campers - the toilets and showers are great, there is ample space for the kids to run around, and even a trampoline which kept our kids occupied for hours. You can fish in the river as well, we managed to catch a few carp. Thanks for having us and we look forward to come back again!
We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful farm camp near Heyfield. The setting is peaceful and spacious, with plenty of room for groups to spread out while still feeling connected around the main camping area.
The facilities are excellent for group camping – clean, well thought out, and clearly designed with larger gatherings in mind. It made the whole experience easy and comfortable without losing that relaxed farm-stay feel. The property itself is lovely, with great views and a real sense of being out in the countryside.
One of the biggest advantages is the location. It feels nicely tucked away, but you’re still only a few minutes from Heyfield if you need supplies, coffee, or a quick trip into town.
A perfect spot for families or groups wanting a relaxed country getaway. We’d happily come back again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a fantastic week at Riveroak
Amanda and Steve have a really well thought out camp ground with everything you could need, and communication was excellent.
Heyfield is a beautiful town and close enough for days trips to the high country, 90 mile beach and the blue pools.
Even on 40+ degree days we still managed to stay cool with plenty of shade and the river to cool us down.
Highly recommend
We had a fantastic stay at Riveroak. Amanda and Steve were wonderful hosts — very responsive, friendly, and helpful. The facilities were spotless and the property was exactly as described, if not better.
The space was perfect for our family and friends, with plenty of room for kids and dogs to run around freely. The playground, trampoline, and swings were a huge hit and kept everyone entertained.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and can’t wait to return again soon!

We stayed at RiverOak for 4 nights and it was a comfortable and well equipped site. It’s got everything you need - toilets, showers, space to roam around, well kept grass and trees, town within walking distance and a lovely river to cool off in. We are definitely coming back!

This was an excellent experience for us.
The property was exactly as described, without any "okay, so that's what was left out of the photos / description" moments.
Amanda was delightful, responsive, professional and friendly to deal with, and we intend to return soon.
Hands down one of the best camp sites we’ve been to. It was so spacious and had a play area for the kids which was a big hit.
Toilet and bathroom facilities were super clean and very well maintained
Amanda and Steve were both very accomodating and were very quick on the the communication
We will definitely be back again one day.

Firstly it was a pleasure to arrive at this site I. The dark, clear instructions and signage and lovely flat location made for an easy setup.
The exquisite oak that gives the site it's name was a joy for the children. Even in the wet the kids were in and out of the low hanging branches.
Toilet and shower facilities were spotlessly clean and well positioned. Not to mention hot water, what a pleasure.
The trampoline and creek were a hit with the kids and being able to walk into town for the Saturday market was a delight for us all.
Clearly a lot of time and effort has gone into making this site perfect for large groups.
We loved our camping weekend! Amanda is a great host, the directions were great and the site was awesome! The land is very well kept offering tons of space, a great fire pit and excellent toilet and shower facilities. Definitely going back!!
Our group uses hipcamp regularly. I think this is one of the best sites that we’ve been to. The place is beautiful, well maintained and amanda is all about making sure hipcamers have a great time.
Celebrated our first grandchild first birthday at RiverOak campsite. There were eight families and couples of us, the usual campers, and three families invited and we still left the campsite half empty.
The campsite was neat with lush and healthy lawns, surrounding trees with the infamous oak tree that shades the prominent part of the campsite the bbq area where we mostly spend our days with picnic mats, camp chairs and hammock next to the river.
Under the Oak tree were swings and kids loved climbing on it as the large branches are very low, dads and kids climbed and some just rest there. I see back in the days when I saw them enjoying the tree.
We had our birthday boy and group pictorials under the lovely oak tree and came out good.
The kids and adults alike also enjoyed the river which helped us a lot from a 36 degree temperature while some were just on their stretchers and hammocks having naps.
We did fishing but sadly we didn’t catch any just because everyone was in the water most of the time.
Boys did mountain biking 10 min drive from the camp. Hike on the trails etc. There is a fishing spot just outside next to the information centre on the main road which we missed on the way in because of watching our way turning heading to the campsite.
Loved the hot and cold shower very clean that I put my bare feet on it. Wash basin outside well lit at night.

40th Birthday at RiverOak

RiverOak is pure magic. We were blessed with the weather, which added to our fantastic weekend away for my husbands 40th birthday.
So much room for our 6 caravans, 12 adults, 14 kids (3yr -11yr) The kids had so much freedom and it’s was totally safe.
From fishing to swimming to mudslides, to cheese platters under the magnificent oak tree- just pure bliss. Wonderful big firepit for our evenings, and the little amenity block was clean and very convenient.
Amanda made booking and staying here so easy and smooth. The communication we had leading up to the stay was 5star.
Could not recommend this gem of a camping spot more.
Thanks to Amanda and RiverOak for making my husbands 40th perfect!

A picturesque setting for a lovely weekend spent with friends. We stayed over the weekend at the end of April. The beautiful trees changing color, the well maintained site and amenities block was appreciated by all.
We stayed for a birthday but everyone who came would love to return with their families. Far enough out of town that it feels private and secluded but close enough that you can duck in for a coffee or takeaway food.
A true gem. We had a wonderful time.

Our big group of friends absolutely loved camping at Riveroak over the long weekend. We had many kids who enjoyed the trampoline, playground, climbing on the magnificent oak tree, and not to mention the amazing campfire (which had no issues warming our big group). Hot instant shower and clean toilets was a bonus for an unpowered site. We loved the privacy of the site, and the land was so flat. We were able to set up our caravans in a circle around the site, leaving heaps of space in the middle for kids to play soccer, fly kites, etc. Lovely creek, where we caught a giant crayfish on the last night. The site has been very well set up, including solar lights that turned on around the campsite after sunset (optional of turning them off). We had a great weekend, with kids being away from their screens and just enjoying nature. Great lakes nearby as well for fishing and nice little town with great food.
The host Amanda was exceptional. Excellent in communication and very accommodating and friendly. She came down to say hi and was available for any help.
We are rebooking for next year!

Fantastic spot- perfect for our large group. Kids loved swimming in the river, climbing the tree and bouncing on the trampoline. Fire pit was great, has a hot plate attached to allow you to cook over the fire which was fabulous. Large flat grass area makes setting up tents a breeze. Couldn’t have asked for a better camping experience. Looking forward to returning next year. Thanks Amanda!

Beautiful, exceptional well looked after, private camp spot. The added bonus of an amenities block was fantastic!
We had a great group family camping trip ant RiverOak. Everything was made very easy from Amanda, she organised firewood for us and ran through everything on arrival.
The property was pristine and freshly mowed, perfect for tent set up and cricket during the day. It was very close to the town which was handy but also secluded with a huge open space surrounded by serene farmland.
Great amenities for everyone to use with toilets and showers. Plenty of activities for kids with swings, trampoline and a river for fishing.
We will definitely be back.
Excellent place, host are very helpful and respond quickly to any questions. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful spot! We celebrated our 40th birthday here sitting by the fire and the beautiful big oak tree, whilst the kids all played along the creek fishing, climbing and on the playground. The ammenities were clean and made even our ‘non camping friends’ feel at peace. We are already organising it to be an annual adventure! Amanda was an amazing host, explained everything, organised a fire wood delivery for us and was easy to contact for all necessities! Thanks so much! Looking forward to visiting again. Jo and Simon

Had a fantastic stay at River Oak!! Was so well set up and was lovely having proper toilets and hot showers on cold days! Amanda and her partner were very helpful and easy to reach if anything came up. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back again!
We recently had the pleasure of camping at River Oaks and we have to say, it was an incredible experience. The campground was well-maintained and had all the amenities we needed, including clean restrooms and showers, fire pits, and picnic tables.
In addition, the staff at River Oaks were incredibly friendly and helpful and provided everything we wanted.
Overall, I would highly recommend River Oaks to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful camping site.
We absolutely loved our stay, the amenities were clean and the site was in a great location. Amanda was very welcoming. We will be definitely coming back. Thank you

Where do I begin.. hot showers were delightful and so was the flushing toilet. But truly the stand out would of been the ginormous oak tree. Loved the picnic spot and had several afternoons reading and deep breathing in the hammock. A camp spot for day dreaming out loud.

Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend! Beautiful big oak tree, flowing river and plenty of space for activities. Loved the huge fire pit and visiting cows. It was the perfect venue for a laidback but big camping group of 19. Hot showers and flushing toilets were much appreciated.
