Paradise on Lake Texoma (formerly Paradise Cove) is a beautiful, secluded commercial campground located in the "Big Mineral Arm'' of Lake Texoma. Built in the 80's by the Corps of Engineers, Paradise has been a mainstay of the lake for many years. Recently, the current management team are working to grow Paradise into something special. With a huge focus on community and culture, Paradise has tons of space for people to come together and enjoy the company and also areas to wander off and find a quiet lakeside spot to relax. The wildlife we have on the property is amazing! I have deer that sleep in my front yard, opossums, 600 bird species, and my favorite… the armadillos!
We offer Kayaking on the property for a fee. We have a beautiful Hammock Garden free for guests to kick back and relax. Texoma Water Taxi is a text away to give guests a ride anywhere on the lake including restaurants. Rock-N A Ranch is roughly 20 minutes away and offers horseback riding.
The Cabins and Campsites are within walking distance from each other but far enough away to create that illusion of privacy. We do have a neighborhood close by but you can’t see or hear them due to the woods.
In my travels, I try to bring back something I’ve seen or learned to help improve the guest experience and environment. You’ll notice little touches of Asia, Mexico, and even Hill Country Texas! We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and treat every guest like family.

In the early 1900’s an iconic red barn was built near the hilltop along the road between the old Mt. Zion community and Collinsville. Later in the 1900’s, the land was mostly abandoned by its owners, but not by the local fishermen! They knew its woodland fishing pond never dried up, and so was able to support a better population of fish. They also dumped a cornucopia of old motorcycles, cars and farm equipment in the front field. What else were you supposed to do with scrap metal in North Texas horse country?
In 2002 the Holtzman family purchased the 35 acre tract of land. They dug a front pond for swimming and paddling, buried the scrap metal (although occasional bits of history still work their way up!), restored and brought horses back to the barn, and began consulting with local biologists about supporting native wildlife.
April Holtzman launched Camp Tonkawa Outdoor Learning Center on the property to provide a beautiful, safe place for families to explore and learn about nature. Camp Tonkawa continues to host overnight and day camps with educational programing organized around various themes including: Native American culture, nature awareness, basic camping skills, primitive survival, organic gardening, herbology, outdoor cooking, western days, and horsemanship. We also host field trips and frequently conduct Girl Scout journeys for all levels in the "It's Your Planet, Love it!" series.
Due to Covid-19, which limited working with groups for our educational programing, we joined Hip Camp where families who could isolate in nature together on our property.

Beware of beaver holes when walking outside of the cabin and please don’t cross the pond, it’s my neighbors property.

We are located next door to 555 Vineyard and the Vineyard Tasting room. Also, check out downtown Valley View with local restaurants including Blue Bonnet Cafe, York N Ale, Hess Meat Market, and Firelight Vineyard just 7 minutes away. Edge of the Lake Vineyard is also 7 minutes away.

My family and I had a great weekend camping at site 15. Everything was clearly marked and well maintained. This site is pretty private although 14 is somewhat nearby. Also has a walking trail going through the back of it but no big deal.
Also had the pleasure of meeting Walt on our way to have brunch which was pretty cool.
Sherry was our waitress at the winery for brunch and she was exceptional, she also took the time to give us a lot of background on the ranch which was great. My family and I will definitely be back!

5 stars! We loved this place—the location was great, and it was quiet and comfortable. The amenities were excellent, and the host was very friendly and helpful. Weekend Trip to this is Paradise on Lake Texoma
We had an amazing time during a wintery getaway during an ice/snow storm this past weekend. We had the entire cabin area to ourselves (yes I was told 100x by friends we were crazy to go to Texoma for a snow storm) and our Kabana 9 could not have been cuter. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Staff did a fantastic job making sure we had extra blankets to stay warm and jugs of water. The hosts even came by to see how we were doing on Day 2. Was a gorgeous location before and after the snow. The bathrooms were amazing and clean. We are sold and will be back again in the warmer spring weather.

The host of the property was very nice, called to help me get to the property, even had offered brunch the next morning, this hospitality is extremely rare in my book, but that’s just the host, let me talk about the site, I chose original tent site 7, it was nice, had a tree in the center and somewhat tucked into the trees, gave just the right amount of a hideaway and open valley that I absolutely loved it. I absolutely love how the site was well maintained, this means not only do the campers have respect for the property, but the host does too. I would definitely consider coming back again. Maybe with a bigger tent because I managed to grab the smallest one I own. The property might be a bit out there, but the scenic drive is a win.

2 nights at this is Paradise on Lake Texoma
Loved this spot! The view was amazing, right by the water. The cabin was cozy and the restrooms very nice, loved that there were individual restrooms/shower. The provided fire pit, sink, and grill at each site made it easy to cook campfire meals. Will definitely be back!

I loved fishing on Susan’s land. Beautiful day in late December, caught lots of fish. Spend the day kayaking around looking for the ultimate big bass. Finally, caught the big one right before I packed up. My two dogs had the best time running and swimming for hours. I was able to meet Susan and her husband, super nice people. I would highly recommend this place.

Outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds will enjoy a visit to Lake Texoma, with over 90,000 acres of land, and 89,000 acres of water to explore. The park is known as the “Playground of the Southwest" (so much to do!), and the “Striper Capital of the World" (awesome striped bass fishing!). Equestrians can enjoy 40 miles of trails, and hikers can check out one of the many trails along the shoreline and through woodlands. You might like the 15-mile Cross Timbers Trail. It’s a moderately difficult hike, but the views are definitely worth it! Campers can choose from more than 1,000 campsites, ranging from primitive to full hookup RV sites, so take your pick! Bring your boat and explore the sheltered coves along the shoreline. Don’t have your own? You can rent a sailboat or powerboat from one of the several marinas on the lake. Who’s in?

Beautiful campground, However the equestrian camp sites Do Not include the horse stalls located at each site even though you reserve the site the stalls are up for anyone to use! This isn't anywhere on the website, nor the email confirmation you get with your reservation and when you call them they won't know what you're talking about. Be aware anyone can put their horses in the stalls at any camp site, those are not yours even though you reserved the camp site where they are located. A reservation doesn't guarantee a place for your horses. The trails are perfect for unshod horses, all sand.

Worked for Bugs B Gone installed misting spray systems to boat slips. The Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and very courteous.The Fishing was out of this world-Biggest Crappie I've ever caught-Limit out in less than an hour. The entire Site was very clean-The burger spot was on point as well. Over all I give Buncombe Creek 6 out of 5 stars..

Metal grate in water near our spot (to prevent shore erosion?) made it difficult to shore our boat. No shower facility or boat ramp in E campsite. Bathrooms in E had a single toilet in the rooms i.e. 2 port-a-potty type seats/big hole in ground & no sink. Nice that we were able to reserve 11 spots close together. Limited noise at the campsite. The closest towns are limited in camping supplies-- drove 30 minutes to Colbert. Would return to get so many sites close together. Gate folks were friendly. Not all spots had the issue of the metal grate in the water, so would get another spot next time. Little cove near this campsite was nice & peaceful for taking kids out on the boat, even if the rest of the lake was choppy.

This is my family's favorite place to camp on Lake Texoma. The sandy beach is one of the best on Lake Texoma. I often kayak here when not camping, as a day use area.
Tip: be on the beach at sunset.

Gorgeous lake! This is a great fishing spot so don't forget your pole and tackle. And if that's not your sort of thing the beaches around the lake are great for fossil hunting.

Great beach! Really great beach! Lots of shade cover at campsites. Restroom facilities were reasonably clean. Well stocked store is close by in case you forgot anything.

Had a blast camping near the lake with close to nobody else, so our pups had a ton of fun just running around the water. $15 for tent camping. They do have toilets a short walk from where we had set up. Fire ring had a grill on top of it. If you forget anything, there's a bunch of stores just a few miles up the road (restaurants too).
