Camping here is low activity experience as in there is hiking up in the National Forest or just hanging out in your camp site, or bring your camera, notebook and binoculars, or road bike.
When you come to camp here you are on a farm in transition. Girlfarm has been a local food go to for restaurants, farm family members, and regenerative agriculture interests. Today, the farm is looking forward to a new course in agri tourism as we begin planning walking gardens, art installations in the landscape, and interactive classes.

Learn more about this land:We are a high desert setting with 78 acres here. There is a huge lake with trees all around it. Kayaking and canoeing is allowed on the lake but it's not swimmable, sadly. There is nearby access to hiking and off road trails. In addition, we are located about 15 minutes from Pyramid Lake, a huge desert lake where there is boating, swimming, and picniciking. We are also an event center for weddings, and other events! come join us on our beautiful propety!

A meadow with creeks and wildlife lines the Valley floor. Depending on location, distant peaks in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range rise into view. The private and secluded Camp sits at the edge of the meadow on 40 acres. It offers multiple sites for vista viewing, camping and fire pits set along two seasonal creeks. Available for one camping party's exclusive use, basic camping comforts include picnic tables, metal and stone fire pits, and an out house with a view. Follow the lower creek out from the Camp into the meadow and Valley floor to find a damned swimming hole. Off-road vehicles, dirt bikes, hiking, fishing, water sports, golf, skeet, and the like are available at or near the Camp, as is LTE cellphone and data services. Alpine Valley Campsite is a short distance to Reno, Truckee, Stampede and Boca Reservoirs, and Lake Tahoe. Spectacular expansive views across the valley to the Sierras and Mount Rose. Conveniently 15 minutes from South Reno (40 minutes from North Lake Tahoe), the silence and absolute privacy here are restorative and replenishing. We do not have trash collection services available and we ask all guest to practice a “leave no trace” philosophy.
**Because of extreme fire risk in our area we ask guests to refrain from having campfires for now. As this area is home to beautiful wildlife (and a few other distant homeowners) please visit with an intent to respect the quiet and privacy that makes this area so pleasurable for us all. ● Two (2) cars maximum allowed* Renters are required to properly display a host-provided parking permit on the driver’s side dashboard of their vehicle. Failure to display the parking permit may result in a citation and fine of $500 to the owner of the vehicle.
● Fireworks, wood fire pits, and charcoal BBQs are strictly prohibited.
● During inclement winter weather either 4WD and snow tires, or 2WD and chains are required to access this Unit. All guests must move all vehicles within 24 hours of a snow storm.

I don't know how it would be any other time of year, but in May there were so many birds on and around the pond--a nest of hawks with two parents and two juveniles, a wide array of ducks and five handsome ducklings, red-winged blackbirds and yellow-headed blackbirds, these little running birds that had the tiniest little running babies, doves in the trees and nesting under the bridge, also frogs and koi and yes, lots of dogs, though they are a sweet bunch for the most part. We brought our paddle board, which seemed silly for such a small body of water but turned out to be the best part. Julie was a sweet host and clearly loves her land.

This campsite was absolutely lovely. Directions were clear, we found the spot with no issues. It was a fun adventure getting in and the views were gorgeous. It felt private and safe. Beautiful starry skies at night and an incredible view of a storm in the next town over kept us entertained until bedtime. Would recommend 10/10

The campsite is stunning! It’s beautifully setup with colorful Adirondack chairs, a hammock and a couch, and the view is gorgeous. I was there for just one night sleep, but I wish I had more time there. I wouldn’t mind spending a week and chill, hang out and work remotely from there. Highly recommend this Hipcamp.

We loved tent camping on Wendy's property! The views were absolutely stunning! My husband is an artist and paints landscapes and he got some fantastic photos for references. There was an on-site fire ring and wood provided to us. We were able to have our service animals with us. She took my husband up to get water and brought us back 5 fresh eggs! Very sweet! We're on a 4 week cross country camping trip. We left Ohio 10 days ago. This has been our favorite place so far!

This site was beautiful and I love the attention to detail - the table, chairs, etc were all such nice touches. The view is absolutely stunning. Keep in mind that the amazing view means that both the drive in and the wind are legit, so make sure you are properly equipped.

It’s a beautiful area with lots of open space. I saw so many quail and other birds. Wendy brought over a fire pit and had wood available. It’s so quiet at night and is a far enough distance from the city to see lots of stars on a clear night.

Very clean campsite with several seating areas. At the top level you have adirondack chairs, a picnic table + couch. On the second level you have another set of adirondack chairs. On the third level, there is a platform you can set your tent on since most of the ground in the site is gravel. The last level is the beach area down by the water, we didn't go this far but I'm sure it's nice and perhaps there also may be seating down there as well. The campsite is exposed, besides the beach area which had a few trees, so make sure to bring an umbrella/shade/awning. There was a consistent breeze which was nice and kept things relatively cool. You have the entire site to yourself so my dog got to explore off-leash, you can hike all the way down to the water but it is pretty steep. The gate and the camera pointed at the gate kept things safe. The small town of Silver Springs is nearby if you need gas, bathroom or want some good diner food make sure to checkout 4 Corners Coffee. Sunrise/sunset was divine!

This is a secluded and private camping spot and you have to go on some dirt roads to get there, all of which I don't mind because I prefer being out there away from it all. I would camp here again!

Staying on Wendy’s beautiful and peaceful property was one of the highlights of my drive across the country. She met me on arrival, welcomed me and escorting me to the Bob Cat site. As it was the very tip of Spring the weather was cool and breezy, the wild flowers were starting to bloom and the birds were busy singing and doing bird things. It was a chorus of nature that changed throughout the day and evening. My dog and I rambled around the property and the adjoining forest looking at plants and rocks and flowers. Sitting at the site in the comfy Adirondack chairs you have a beautiful view of the mountains, pond, and the little valley. The radiant sunsets over the mountains were a great way for me to end the day but if you wanted to stay up and build a fire there were provisions for both wood and gas. Wendy was a consummate host, providing advice for local sights and activities as well as assistance with any camping needs. I cannot recommend her place highly enough. She and her home are splendid!

Great spot to stop for the night! The host had great communication and while I was only doing an overnight and did not use any of the add-ons available for purchase (pop-up, s’mores, tent) I think that is an excellent touch and I would definitely stay here again.
