Bog's : Winterberry Bog, Yellow-bellied Bog, and Indian Pipe Bog, are just west on Arkola Road.
Fire wood is free, I have been cutting wood, but is still in short supply and fire banned while dangerous dry conditions persist. We have gotten rain so it is better now.
For you light sleepers staying in a tent, just know none stop traffic off the highway and then the birds started chirping up a storm at 4:30 in the morning.

Even through the snowy winters. We provide private campsites at Camp 84. We offer 3 separate and secluded tent sites, each with personal vehicle parking. All sites include a designated campfire ring and tenting area. Just a 7-minute drive from downtown Chisholm and the biking trails at the REDHEAD Mountain Bike Park, this is a great spot to crash for the night or hang out for the weekend!
The property has direct access to the Northern Traxx ATV Trail, located just a short drive down Hwy 84. (Ask for directions if you’d like to explore.) Additional parking for utility trailers or extra vehicles may be available in the Collin Sand and Gravel field.
Guests are welcome to wander the property trails at their own discretion. There are no marked trails, but feel free to explore—just be mindful to keep a respectful distance from other sites.
A porta potty is located between Sites 1 and 2 on the other side of the driveway. Small camper vans are welcome, but RVs and camper trailers will not fit.

Named in honor of a late great nature enthusiast from the owners' family, Vaddu's Nature Reserve offers a cute cabin for rent in 40 acres of picturesque North Minnesota hunting/birdwatching territory, 10 minutes from Bob Dylan's home town of Hibbing, 45 minutes from Duluth, and 3 hours from the Twin Cities. Barely 10 minutes north of the Sax-Zim Bog, one often hears a veritable symphony of birds while at the site.
The glampsite is ideal for folks who want to enjoy nature, find tranquility, and access nearby attractions in north Minnesota. Property is about half wetland and half forest, so ensure you safely prepare for expeditionary activities you might undertake...but you already knew that :-)
A map is attached with the photos, where the light green is bog/wetland and the darker green is forest, with the campsite shown in a white pin drop and some other markers like deer stands and feed lots in red/blue pin drops. The trails are marked in teal lines on the map (some blaze orange ribbons on trees irl) but not state-park-level by any measure (goals!) Be aware of both, overgrowth and marshland. Dress in bright colors in case of hunters on nearby lands.
The campsite has a campfire setup, picnic table, firewood pile, other seating areas, space to play games/sports (some equipment provided), grills, an outhouse, borewell water (not drinkable without boiling/treatment but can be used for dishes, washing etc.). The cabin has heat by way of a propane heater in the fall/winter/spring. There are some board games and a table inside the cabin for rainy days. NOT ON THE GRID, but wired for electric, so bring a generator if you want to run any electronic or electrical appliances. Bring drinking-water/TP/food/layers/sleeping-bags/blankets/trash-bags/repellant/etc.
You will need to take your trash with you, since there is no trash pickup on site.
There is a second smaller cabin on site (not yet available to rent) and space for tents. There is also an RV where our caretaker, Nick, stays. He will most likely be onsite with you at the same time. If you were hoping for a private experience, please reach out to us prior to booking to determine if that will be possible for your proposed dates.

Our Resort
Privacy and comfort complement the natural beauty of the cabins. We have five miles of groomed trails that lead through state land to the Mud Hen Creek! Bring your kayak and pole! By the creek we have a few beaver lodges and so much wildlife to admire! As you trek along Silver Ridge Canyon, don't be surprised by the sudden flight of grouse along this trail! Visit Scout Hill for a sunny afternoon picnic; the cedar trees will lead you there. If you hear knocking, you will see Mr. Woodpecker enjoying his lunch on a nearby birch tree!
Our campsites are nestled underneath a canopy of mixed wood forest. We have birch, poplar, maple, and a variety of pine. Nearby you will find our newly finished outhouse, complete with a portable shower and natural light. You will have access to parking near or next to your site with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy! Our property features a beautiful variety of trees and plenty of trails throughout our land with wildlife you might see or hear. It might be the hoot of an owl or the drum of a grouse! You will also hear the "buck wheat" and the "chee-chee" of our guineas calling for each other.
Our beautiful forest is our main feature. Since 95% of our land is wooded, we enjoy the great beauty and majesty of the trees.
Our property extends, via trail, to state land and the Mud Hen Creek. The views are breathtaking! Please come and bring your family and friends! Our campsites' proximity would create a great weekend getaway for a retreat event or a family reunion, as well as a quiet romantic weekend!
Here at home we raise chickens, ducks, and guinea fowl. We also have a Catahola Leopard dog named Hickory. She enjoys roaming our Luna Light Trails on the off season.
When I was a child, I lived on a church camp property in Uruguay, South America. This plot of land had a grove of the most beautiful, tall, eucalyptus trees in the neighborhood. These trees were the home to Monk Parakeets. These small green parrots are the only members of the parrot family to build stick nests and to nest colonially. Needless to say, they were very loud, but one of my favorite childhood memories!
This little plot on the Minnesota map has been our home for the last six years . We have enjoyed our woods and so will you!

Cabin O Pines was the perfect spot to set up my camper. Hosts were outstanding and very welcoming! In addition to easy access to Voyagers; the property itself was well run, clean, quiet at night and the dock was a perfect place to watch the sun set.

Marie and her family were kind, friendly people. Their 40 acres is a great spot to spend some time and explore. I got to meet two of their three dogs (the old boy setter/lab and the young black lab) and they were both adorable. While wandering their property, I came across some cute little mushrooms that we don’t have back in Colorado and took some pictures. There were also a lot of monarch butterflies! I really appreciated the property and Marie’s impeccable communication. Definitely worth a stay!

Really cool spot! Almost 7 miles down the road after the pavement ends. You feel far up in the woods and you are! It has a family campground vibe with the cabins so you don’t feel too isolated. Bathrooms super clean. The campsites are thoughtfully set up and overlooking the lake. They each have a spigot for potable water among other amenities like crazy good WiFi. If I’m up in the area again and not doing the back country thing, I’d definitely consider staying here again. Denise, the manager, was super chill and helpful too.

My kiddo and I had an amazing time! The loft is beautiful and cozy - we almost didn't want to leave even to explore the rest of the property. That would be a shame though - the animals are so fun! We got kitty snuggles, did some goat wrangling and horse grooming, pet the most floofy dogs, and even fed a baby yak! The property is well‐maintained and everyone we met was kind, welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay one to remember. We will definitely be back!

Dan and Patty are the most incredible hosts. They are the most kind and considerate people and they go above and beyond to make sure anyone staying at Luna Lights feel like family. Their land is absolutely stunning and so incredibly peaceful, and the fresh produce they gifted us was absolutely delicious! This is our second time here and each time has been a trip we’ll remember for the rest of our lives!!!

This was my second visit to Luna Light Trails for tent camping. The wooded pathways were all mowed and ready for hiking and picture taking. Patty and Dan are great hosts. The campsite had firewood and a container of water waiting for me. Very nice property for an early September visit and cooler temperatures.

WOW!! Stayed in Lakeside #2 with our class B+ and tow car. Again, Wow! Very private, large area to park (could fit 2 our size), right on the water, and a private dock?? Power, water (and appeared to be sewer hookup but wasn’t positive it was open?). This site is without question the nicest HipCamp my wife and I have visited. (And we’ve been using them across the country and back multiple times in the last 3 yrs.)

This is a very isolated campsite in a beautiful location.
Trains go by occasionally at night, but not a reason to skip staying here. There is not enough room to turn a vehicle around at the site , so one must back out when leaving.

This site was right beside the playground and zipline, which my children loved! From this site, I could hear & partially see my kids at the swimming beach. Also, this campground had very clean restrooms, which I appreciate having young children. They also had lots of activities for my kids to do/try - canoe, kayaks, paddleboards, disc golf, pickle ball, basketball, a big & small playground, and more! This was a very nice campground!

Amanda's land was beautifully taken care of! Both the lawn and fire pit worked exceedingly well and was complete with a picnic bench and the outhouse worked as an outhouse should! The cabin came with 2 bunk beds and one even had a full size mattress with a twin trundle underneath. No power, but plenty of shade and counter space complete with a table and 4 chairs in the center. Animals are welcome too!
