The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

Frank Page purchased the Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground in 2008 which included the original seven acres of the lower portion of the Rendezvous. At that time there were only a few buildings and the primitive campground area. Frank started cleaning the area and stabilizing all the buildings. In 2009 another 20 acres was purchased, which is now considered the upper area of the Rendezvous. In 2010, another seven acres were added to the property. Frank planned and constructed the Upper Rendezvous area which was completed in 2012 and added 136 RV sites as well as the dog park, barn and pigeon coop. The dog park has five sections, for both small and large dogs, with ample room to run. Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground Pool Frank began raising pigeons in 2012. The first pigeons purchased were homing pigeons, which started the Pigeon Races that are still a fun, family favorite event on Saturday afternoons. Frank also bought and started raising other pigeons, the Birmingham Roller. Birmingham Rollers are a very popular breed of domesticated pigeons that originated in Birmingham, England, where they were developed via selective breeding for their ability to do rapid backward somersaults while flying. You can often see them flying around the Upper Rendezvous in the mornings and afternoons. These pigeons are used for our weekly Pigeon Races.

At the campground, you have access to a shared campfire, picnic tables, grill, composting toilet, sink with running water, shower with hot water, changing room, and some art supplies and games to enjoy during your stay. The host lives on the homestead and is available if you need assistance. Please note: The five tent sites are within the campground circle where no cars are allowed for camper safety. The parking area is within 150 feet (45 meters) of the various sites, and a cart is available to move your gear. Sites are 25–50 feet (8–15 meters) apart. Dogs are not allowed for the safety and comfort of other campers. If your private group is renting the whole campground, you may bring a leashed pet when it is not in your tent or van. If you are looking for a single private campsite far from town, this is not for you. However, if you would like to experience a campground on a working homestead and learning center, with the ability to interact with other guests if you wish, while still being conveniently close to downtown and trail systems, this is a great fit. This wooded 5-acre property is very close to thousands of acres of state park land and also adjacent to a rural/suburban neighborhood. With tubing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, boating, and fishing available within feet of the campsite, you can stay nearby or venture out to some of the best springs in the world. Boaters – Private boat ramp is 200 yards up the road on the Santa Fe, public boat ramps within 10 miles on the Santa Fe and Suwannee rivers. Tubers – Tube the private section of the crystal-clear Ichetucknee river accessible only by the homeowners via our 3 waterfront parks. Both get-out parks are within walking distance to the campsite for your convenience. Paddlers – Paddle the Santa Fe or Ichetucknee rivers from within the neighborhood, or if the time of year is right, venture up to the Ichetucknee State Park to paddle the head waters and north entrance. Secluded little campsite tucked back on 10 owned acres behind all housing. Has a driveway/path all the way back to the campsite. Signs are clearly marked upon arrival. Parking is allowed on site and set up is at your discretion. Campsite is about approximately 50x50 and includes use of outdoor composting toilet, picnic table, outdoor chairs, trash can with lid, outdoor hand washing area w/ water, and a nice sized fire ring. (Wood is available for your enjoyment and ease, but please only use what you need) Hosts are on site 24/7 for ease of making your stay comfortable and we will ensure all your needs are met in a timely fashion. This is PRIMITIVE camping site and would not be suitable for RV’s. Van camping is allowed and can hold up to three vans or cars. Small walking trails available behind the campsite. This campsite is not on any water. We do have a boat launch 5 minutes away: Lots of local places listed below! Local Highlights - Ginnie Springs, Blue Springs, Rum Island, Ichetucknee Springs, Ichetucknee River, Santa Fe River, Pink Flamingo, The Great Outdoors, Steakout, and more! (If you are looking for an amazing paddle we highly recommend a visit to Ichetucknee River) We have a small convenience store right at the entry of our street which has many of your quick camping needs. We also have a grocery store (Winn Dixie) that is a short 5 minute drive from our location.

Weekend Trip to Artists Nature Retreat

I really enjoyed my weekend stay in the sculpture garden with their newly built screened in gazebo. Complete with lights and a ceiling fan. As well as an outlet to charge my devices. The picnic table and accompanying light for after dark was a plus. Unfortunately we were under a burn ban at the time and I couldn’t enjoy a campfire in the cozy fire pit area. The lush carpet of grass was a nice touch and felt wonderful on my bare feet. Lynn and David were wonderful - helping me park and get level. They even provided the scraps of wood to achieve levelness. Located right next to the chicken enclosure was great. The rooster didn’t bother me a bit as I’m a sound sleeper but something to make note of if that bothers you. Overall my trip was wonderful and I can’t wait to come back for a longer visit. Their dog Winnie was sweet too.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Green Fairy. Detailed instructions and labels within the barn. This location is perfect for exploring Ichetucknee Springs. No more and mostly less than a 10 minute drive to both entrances with stores providing necessities within a 7 minute drive. The property is peaceful with dogwoods on property (beautiful). We were even granted the pleasure of the presence of a fawn and doe at the edge of the property on one occasion. The outdoor shower even provided us with locations to explore, for which we are greatful. We highly recommend this property if you are headed to Ichetucknee or hiking the close by preserves and trails!

I camped here for a week long course at the FOLC farm. Beautiful campground with lots of shade and sitting areas for picnics. There’s a large fire pit, a clean spacious hot shower, sink with running water, and compostable toilet right on the grounds for easy access. The area is very large and easier fit our group of 9, and I still felt like I had privacy. There’s a handful of kitchen implements and a dish rack which made everything even easier. I felt like I was in the woods and downtown Gainesville is still only a short drive away. There’s several parks and trails within walking distance as well. A very beautiful campground and our host Catherine was fabulous! I would definitely stay here again next time I’m in the area. I just wish I had time to paint on the art wall; I’ll just have to on my next visit :)

My stay at the FOLC Farm campsite this spring was awesome! The campground is both beautiful and inviting, and well equipped for a comfortable camping experience with a fire pit, picnic tables and chairs, amazing outdoor shower, wash station for dishes and nice clean composting toilet. The host is friendly, knowledgeable of the region and welcoming, and it was a great camping experience. Tucked away in the scenic woodlands of Gainesville, you are close to nearby hiking and cycling, great trails for wildflower viewing and birding, and also just a skip and a hop from the arts and restaurants in downtown Gainesville. You’ll hear the sounds of the breeze, birdsong and rooster crowing at dawn. A perfect little weekend getaway!

I absolutely loved my stay at the Hipcamp at the FOLC Farm. I stayed here while attending a wilderness first responder course that was held at the FOLC Farm. My tent site was great with a nearby fire pit, hot outdoor shower!, and an outhouse. The property is peaceful and within walking distance of a State park, a City natural area, and a multi-use trail. I hiked, ran, and mountain biked on the various trails without having to get in my car. Within 10 minutes you can be in downtown Gainesville. Catherine, the owner, is incredibly nice and hospitable. She has done a great job making the FOLC Farm a fun place to camp.

Great spot, very centrally located. We enjoyed visiting Cellon Oak (20ish min drive) and Ichetucknee Springs state park (20 mins). William's place was very private and secluded. William is kind and quick to repaint if you have any questions. Wish we could've stayed more than one night. Truly a beautiful area!

Nice location on the St. Marys river. If you are tent camping, it's probably wise to check if the nearby mudbog pit (Soggy Bottom) is planning an event, otherwise noise could be an issue. Also, the gravel drive is pretty steep. Be careful to get a rolling start when exiting the gate

We had a wonderful time camping for four nights. It was very private (just us), and our dog had a blast running free all over the property. The proximity to Ichetucknee (next door) and Ginnie Springs (an easy 30 minute drive) was fantastic. The campsite itself has all you need and more. Electric and water hookups, a hot outdoor shower, an outdoor sink for washing dishes, and a full toilet with a mirror and vanity. We'd definitely visit again!

We had a wonderful stay at Bowman’s landing campsite 1! We came to visit nearby springs and it was a convenient location. My husband kept saying that the place felt magical. It felt quiet, remote, and woodsy. We loved walking over to the dock at sunset and in the morning. The hosts were friendly and helpful and gave us a tour upon arrival. The primitive site is a semi-far walk from the bathhouse (at least in the dark), so the hosts offer bikes to use if desired. We hope to return one day!
